We walked in for dinner one night around 17:00 and were almost the only ones inside! I guess Berliners eat dinner a bit later. Service was quick and we were thrilled she also spoke a little English which helped. I ordered the bun cha gio which was just enough to fill me up. The rice noodles were perfectly cooked and it had a decent amount of fresh herbs. The spring rolls were a little greasy but that was probably my fault for not letting them drain off for a minute before diving in. Fresh herbs were the perfect finishing touch. Prices were great, too. We will definitely stop in again next time we're in town. read more

The food was good. I enjoyed the vegan duck in their pretty tasty curry sauce. For what's around the area it's good at a fair price. The curry sauce is pretty heavy afterwards. The vegan duck tastes great but was a bit too over fried in oil. The rice was slightly too mushy. But overall Id come back to try other dishes. They also have healthy options. The food here is amazing and I could not believe the prices! It is very cheap! We had 3 starters, 2 mains and 3 desserts and paid around €50. The food is all very tasty, it is very light and seems to have fabulous ingredients. The best is to order different dishes and share. The menu is quite extensive and there are lots of things to try. The desserts were all delicious and very different. They were all very light, so don't expect the super sweet dessert. Instead it is all about real flavours that have not been masked by processed sugar. If i am ever in Berlin again I will definitely come back. read more

Nice little restaurant we wouldn't have thought about going to if it wasn't for the good reviews on Yelp given that it was empty at the time we arrived (7pm). We ordered the Pad Thai and Green Curry. They were both quite good! The curry's flavour was delicious with just the right among of spiciness for my liking (mild). The Pad Thai was delicious but wasn't very flavourful and could have used more peanut sauce. We had to get the server's attention every time we wanted something. There was no visits to the table to see how we fared but they were quite friendly. (Remember we were the only ones in the restaurant the whole time). Overall I'd recommend this restaurant for their food and friendliness. read more

I absolutely loved this place! We found this place because of it being vegetarian and vegan. The servers were very nice and the menu was a great variety. I would recommend this place if you don't eat meat or even if you do! We got spring rolls and they were great! I really enjoyed them before my meal. I ordered the pad thai and it was super good! I thought that it was very good but I wish they added maybe a little bit more sauce. My mom got the vegan chicken and soba noodles. I tried hers and thought it was great! She looked at it and decided that there wasn't enough (soy) beef in it, so she brought out a seriously large portion of (soy) beef and added it to my plate. Unfortunately, we discovered this restaurant the last evening of our stay in Berlin, otherwise we would be back tomorrow. The main dishes were very flavorful, with fresh ingredients, nicely arranged and very generous portions. When actually too full, but unable to resist the desert menu, the very friendly manager guided us into the perfect direction: fried banana. The dough was light, the banana perfectly melted with just the right amount of honey sprinkled on it to give it some extra sweetness and flavor. This place was a great find! We were 4 vegetarians and we all had couple of dishes to share and our own mains. We all loved all the plates. Most favored was the chilled vegan chicken skewers with noodles in teriyaki sauce. Second the wok Thai curry with chicken. Savory Chai is an all vegetarian restaurant in the city center. If you are planning to visit Mitte to site see, this is essentially your only vegan option! They do have menus in English so just ask. Many of their meals are vegan including a vegan mango lasso drink. It is very cold in Berlin in February so it is a nice spot to stop to refuel and enjoy a hot cup of tea. The servers are very friendly but speak minimal english. This is not a complaint! I realize that I made very little effort to learn even basic German words before visiting. The menus have numbers beside each option so a shared language isn't really needed. And paying with euros is a common language! The vegan chickun skewers served on a large plate of greens, avocado and udon noodles in teriyaki sauce was delicious. I loved the texture of the vegan meat and the avocado & salad worked perfectly with the sauce. Steve's vegan crispy chickun in mango curry was also very good. Puffs of deep fried vegan meat in a curry sauce loaded with broccoli, pineapple and red peppers. It is served with white rice instead of brown. That is the only thing I would change! While most of the vegan restaurants are clustered on the east side of Berlin (Prenzlauer Berg, Kreuzberg & Friedrichshain), this is a wonderful option if you get hungry while wandering through the center of Berlin! read more
