(This review is a re-post from the lunchmob event we had today)
The build up for this restaurant was pretty stunning - fusion Asian, nice people and a new business that needs to be checked up, I was all in.
I got lost in their menu, maybe it's because my german is not too great, or maybe I just didn't like it, every dish had something I didn't like in it - but finally I found the satè chicken and just asked to leave the tomatoes out of my dish
The waiter asked me about a soup as a starter and I assumed it's a part of the deal, but it wasn't
Let's leave that behind, the soup arrived and was pretty tasty, a bit too much fresh onion in my opinion.
The drinks are served in little jars with straws which makes it really appealing, loved the idea!
On to the main dish, I'm not sure how long we waited, but the dishes looked really pretty, it took a few minutes but people got it all, so we started digging in, and guess what I found hiding under my chicken? You got it right! Tomatoes! And lots of them!
The sauce was really good - creamy with a bald peanut taste, the side salad on top was also pretty good and well seasoned and the rice portion was pretty generous.
It was a bit dark inside but seemed to me the chicken was a little pink, and it was full of fat, didn't eat most of it.
Can't say I left hungry, but still somewhat disappointed..
The place itself is really nicely decorated and the staff is very nice...
One more thing- I sat down at the corner of the table and felt the cold breeze every time someone went in or out, the problematic part was when the door got stuck and then the cold kept flowing in and freeze me, no fun. Keep that in mind if you're coming here.
To sum it all up - Asian fusion is a great idea, to a certain point, get that was way beyond my flexibility point and I guess you won't be seeing me here anytime soon, even though deep in my heart id like to give them one more chance. read more
