    Satè chicken
    Daniel A.

(This review is a re-post from the lunchmob event we had today) The build up for this restaurant was pretty stunning - fusion Asian, nice people and a new business that needs to be checked up, I was all in. I got lost in their menu, maybe it's because my german is not too great, or maybe I just didn't like it, every dish had something I didn't like in it - but finally I found the satè chicken and just asked to leave the tomatoes out of my dish The waiter asked me about a soup as a starter and I assumed it's a part of the deal, but it wasn't Let's leave that behind, the soup arrived and was pretty tasty, a bit too much fresh onion in my opinion. The drinks are served in little jars with straws which makes it really appealing, loved the idea! On to the main dish, I'm not sure how long we waited, but the dishes looked really pretty, it took a few minutes but people got it all, so we started digging in, and guess what I found hiding under my chicken? You got it right! Tomatoes! And lots of them! The sauce was really good - creamy with a bald peanut taste, the side salad on top was also pretty good and well seasoned and the rice portion was pretty generous. It was a bit dark inside but seemed to me the chicken was a little pink, and it was full of fat, didn't eat most of it. Can't say I left hungry, but still somewhat disappointed.. The place itself is really nicely decorated and the staff is very nice... One more thing- I sat down at the corner of the table and felt the cold breeze every time someone went in or out, the problematic part was when the door got stuck and then the cold kept flowing in and freeze me, no fun. Keep that in mind if you're coming here. To sum it all up - Asian fusion is a great idea, to a certain point, get that was way beyond my flexibility point and I guess you won't be seeing me here anytime soon, even though deep in my heart id like to give them one more chance.

Delicious flavor and presentation. Cooked perfectly, broth could have used a bit more depth in flavor but I rounded it out with a touch of ground pepper. The dumpling with side sauces were absolutely wonderful and nicely prepared. Assortment of meats and vegetables all loaded and steamed to perfection. The entree deserves top billing as it was arranged beautifully which mirrored the delicious flavor of the meat and accompanying vegetables. Loads of flavor, cooked perfectly and married with a nice sauce. The highlight was a glass of champagne offered at the start of the meal. Bubbly, not overly sweet and it was a great way to start the meal. Highly recommended. Beautiful location, very clean and nicely decorated for the holidays.

You put the table number on your omelet order and then they deliver your omelet to your table. if the hotel is empty, your omelet will arrive in less than 5 minutes. BUT if the hotel is packed you might be waiting 15 minutes or longer and then the omelet will be under cooked. But in general the omelet is very good. Each omelet chef is different, some your omelet is huge and others it will be small. There is a nice selection of breads, cold cuts, cheeses, sausages including currywurst. The currywurst made here is special, highly recommend to give it a try. Homemade jams are very good with whole chunks of fruit. Yogurt with fresh fruits and all the toppings you can want on your yogurt. We chose to eat here the first night of our stay because we were tired of the long drive and we were told they'd be able to accommodate our children who have food allergies. First let's talk about the allergies. If I'd of known their accommodation of food allergies meant the have a food allergy menu we'd of chosen somewhere different. We were made to believe the chef/staff would be able to prepare a meal for our children that were tailored to their allergies. That wasn't the case. As for the food, it was good. I ate two meals there, with the first being ribs which were good. My second was a Berliner Currywurst and I've had better. My wife got a panini the first night and she said it was good, and her second meal was a linguine that was ok. All in all, we had a better meal around the block at another restaurant.

If I had been when Tim was the chef I think the experience would have been different as well. We ate in a nice quiet area near the front windows and overall we had a really nice time. We did the Chefs Tasting Menu. We were told the menu is the Chefs inspiration as to what comes out for us but we did see other tables get some of the same dishes. Nonetheless it was very enjoyable and portions were great. Dessert was a little light.. was hoping for something more exciting. We ate our dinner with Sake and Sparkling Water. The server was very attentive and other staff members were very nice. The Bar Manager (not sure if he was) but he was going around to the tables to pair Wine and Sake with everyone's meals. We had his favorite Sake and then another kind to end the evening with. If you're looking to treat yourself, impress a girl or boy, this is a nice place to come for a date. Atmosphere is dim lighting and dance music. My favorite thing was these chewy mint pineapple chunks they give you after the dinner. Our server brought us more and I was in love with it. NOT CHEAP. But it was a truly special meal with impeccable service. Sushi/Sashimi - nicely done. Salmon - insane like no salmon I've ever had. Prawn - probably the weakest dish as the sauce was a bit too tart. Veal Neck - wow just wow. Pork Belly Bao - phenomenal. Build it big! And a lovely dessert. Highly highly recommend.

Decided to try something different on our last night in Berlin. Yelp pointed us to Dudu, which…read moredidn't disappoint. Outdoor seating was packed, but pretty much all the (long) tables inside were open. So if it's nice out and you want to sit outside, be prepared to wait. Since almost all the patrons were eating outside, service inside was somewhat slow. Menus were already on the tables, but it took some time to flag down a waiter and get one in English. Food came out in a timely manner, though. Before placing your order, be sure to check out specials on the chalk board! Dudu's menu mainly consisted of a mix of Vietnamese dishes and sushi. Decided to start with dumplings and the starter beef pho. Although both were good, I enjoyed the dumplings more. I liked how the dumpling wrapper wasn't too thick and that it was packed with pork. The dipping sauce went well with the dumplings and wasn't too sour or spicy. I liked how you can order a starter of the pho. It was the perfect size to get a taste of the dish, leaving room for other items on the menu. The small bowl was packed with noodles and beef shavings. The soup itself didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked it to, but it was still good. Our main meal consisted of a variety of rolls that we shared. The salmon avocado and tuna rolls were pretty good, although standard. The fish was fresh and the ratio of fish to fish was good. The crispy yellow roll, one of Dudu's special rolls, was just okay. The roll itself was deep fried and contained avocado and cucumber. Separate from the roll was diced spicy tuna that you were supposed to eat with the roll. If I knew it would came like this, I don't think I would have ordered it. I was over the actual roll pretty quickly, but really enjoyed the spicy tuna. I also tried some of C's "rice for kids", which was a small bowl of soup rice with chicken on top. He quickly ate all the chicken, but left most of the rice. Again, didn't know the rice would be rice mixed in a broth. You could tell the broth had ginger in it as the taste was pretty prominent. Not so sure this is a good idea for a kid's dish...the only kid's meal offered. Price of all the food was reasonable, although pricier than typical meals in Berlin.
