Prompt and professional service. We suddenly had no well water, and they came out immediately. Fortunately, it wasn't the well but a burst pipe under the house they immediately spotted. They referred us to a plumber who took care of the issue an hour later. Bravo! read more

Consumer beware. Royall came out to service my water filtration system as well as flush out a pipe under our home due to iron build up. After explaining in detail what we needed done, we were quoted $450-$500 for the service call, parts and labor. Now, we can understand a slight variance in price quote vs. final billing amounts, but a mere 2 days after the work was completed I get a phone call from Royall informing me of the total amount due. Imagine our shock to learn it's DOUBLE the amount originally quoted!!! And furthermore, they want to run my credit card right then and there, 2 days after the service call, we haven't even seen an invoice, they haven't even mailed it yet! What? Who does that? Who runs a business in this manner? When you take your car in to be serviced, the service techs call you for approval when they see that there is more parts/labor than originally quoted, they don't just do the work and when you go to pick up your car you're hit with a bill you weren't prepared for. No, that's not how it works. Zero communication from service staff regarding additional work/cost. When they are out on a service call, their manager should have made them fully aware of the work requested and the quote for said work. When the techs see that they are going to have to perform more work, longer service call, additional parts, then they should inform the customer PRIOR to doing anything further. We are extremely disappointed, we enjoy using local, independent businesses but we won't be using Royall EVER again. My husband spoke with a gentleman at Royall today, before giving them the go ahead to charge our credit card. He voiced his concerns, asked questions, explained why we are so upset with Royall's flawed business and billing practices and this employee was SILENT. All they wanted was their money, they didn't care how we felt, they didn't care that we felt we were taken advantage of and they didn't care to try to correct their mistakes. This isn't the first time we've used Royall, but after today, it is the LAST time we use them. Never again Royall, never again. read more

My husband and I called for a water test. Easy right? No. After calling and chatting with Steve to PAY for the water test, I thought everything was good. Steve called my husband shortly thereafter, to try to collect on an old debt. Indeed, we had a well issue that cost over $2k and we paid the majority of the debt off, leaving $400 on the balance. But we wound up in financial crisis. Like severe financial straights. Steve was so blinded by the $400 we owed from nearly 10 years ago, that he refused the $340 we would be PAYING UP FRONT for him to do his job. Here's the thing: Steve was there with his judgement, but he wasn't there when we were trying to pay the $300 per month for ONE INHALER for our child's asthma. He needed two. We often couldn't pay for them and tried making the inhalers stretch, or had to get samples from the doctor--embarrassing. He wasn't there when we cancelled our phone service, or our cable service to make ends meet. He wasn't there when we found someone to do a straight trade on our SUV so we could swap it for a smaller, more inexpensive car. He wasn't there when I was selling things out of my house to provide my children with food. Or when my card was rejected at the grocery store and we had to put food (ACTUAL FOOD) back. He wasn't there when we told our boys we couldn't afford to buy them anything for Christmas, that they'd have to buck up this time around. He wasn't there when my husband had to close his business or even when we sat down with a bankruptcy attorney, or got letters from any of our other creditors--including our mortgage lender. It was bad. But Steve is there to pass judgment. It never crossed his mind that we felt bad about the debts we couldn't pay (2 years of steady employment and we're still digging out). Never even crossed his mind that we wanted Royall to do this test as a way of saying, "Hey, we messed up, but we want to support your business in the way we can right now." We didn't expect or want them to lend us the $340. We were paying for it straight up to do a job. The moral failing here isn't that my husband and I was poor. The moral failing is in not having compassion, which we saw plenty of when we were poor. In fact, it was those who had compassion that have had the most lasting impact on our lives and I'm grateful to all of them. So go. Be good to each other. read more

Are water was not working, so my husband called Royall Pump & Well. The good news is they responded and came out quickly and even did the repair quickly. The bad news they don't honor the price they quote in addition they are not honest. I can go on line and buy The well x Trol 205 Pressure tank 34 gallon in which they replaced and get it for $400 so you can imagine when we get the bill and it says the tank cost $855.00 over 100% inflated price probably a lot more since they buy in bulk and can probably get it even cheaper. And no that price did not include the labor charge. When my husband called to question why the tank cost 455.00 dollars more than what we can personally get it for the lady was not too nice. She said well this comes with a warranty, my husband said yes they all come with a warranty. She then said sorry we can do nothing about it unless you want us to come out and remove the tank. Oh yes and get hit with another labor charge. How about being honest about prices. If a part cost 400 don't charge someone 855.00! I will never use them again as I no longer trust them to give fair prices! read more

Our well pump went out on us during a party at our house on Christmas Eve. Royal sent out a crew that night to find the problem. They did not have the well pump on the truck but said they would be back the next day.(Christmas) The crew came out and had everything fixed before noon. The pricing was very reasonable. read more

I hired Royall to drill a new deep well and install a new pumping system after my first well (drilled by another contractor) dried up in less than a year. The bedrock in my area is particularly difficult to deal with, and as a result most of the houses in my area have 500' deep wells that are hydro-developed and then lined. Having to drill a second well of this type is an unexpected major expense, and after my previous experience I was cautious about selecting a contractor. Royall was a pleasant surprise. Everyone I dealt with at Royall was knowledgeable, honest, and professional. They kept me well informed throughout the process, presenting the various options at each decision point in a clear and respectful manner. What impressed me the most was their communication. Everyone involved in the process knew what they were doing and were happy to answer questions. The quality of their work has been excellent so far as well. My water supply is much more reliable now and the water pressure in the house is consistently high. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because I've only used the new well and pumping system for about three weeks. Assuming nothing changes over the next year or so, I'll re-rate to five. read more
