We couldn't be happier with the food and service here. Our servers name was Karen, she had a big smile the whole time despite the craziness of Sunday afternoon. I've heard other locations are better, but my first try was a little disappointing. The fried chicken was pretty good, but the potato wedges were fairly mushy and bland. It was kind of strange since they looked like they were seasoned. I had a biscuit that had something a bit off... it had the texture similar to some bread that was microwaved to warm, kind of chewy/tough. I also went with a chicken tender sandwich with ham, Swiss cheese, and pickles. Again, the flavor was a bit off. While the tenders weren't burned, the flavor was of bad/stale oil, so maybe that gave the burned flavor. Not too sure I'd give it a second go at this location but perhaps another. read more

Well, sometimes you have to make a place work for you. All of the potential convenience woes mean nothing if they're forced to make you a new delicious batch. Just order a ton of chicken for delivery and this place is absolutely aces. Chicken was fresh, well seasoned, and juicy as a waterfall. You don't order swordfish at a steakhouse or calamari at a burger joint: Why have inflated expectations on anything other than their specialty? The chicken is great and you can get it delivered to you still crackling in their crisper bags for a TON cheaper and tastier than KFC or Popeyes (both of whom use buckets/boxes that mean a soggier end product). KFC 16 piece = $32.39 Popeyes 16 piece = $30.79 Royal Farms 16 piece = $20.00 (or 27.98 if you want lots of white meat). That's right. It costs $10.79 less than its closest competitor via Doordash. Which means it's actually *even* more economical because lower cost = lower fees + lower tip. It tastes like the oil they use is new. I only know this because of the comparison (and decades of experience): neither KFC or Popeyes taste like they use new oil with each batch unless you get lucky. read more

I love Royal Farms, and although it is a controversial opinion among my family and some friends I enjoy it over Wawa! When this location opened up, it was my first experience of Royal Farms and it got me and my friends hooked, so much in fact we kept coming back to this location despite the 15 minute ride. It is also located conveniently next to Route 309 and the start (or end) of County Line Road. Parking is not a issue for this location, there is plenty of parking around the main building and on the side. There are tables to eat outside if you wish, with plenty of trash cans in the area to dispose of trash. One thing I love about the building itself and inside is the aesthetic. Everything is bright and clean, even the shelves are lit up! There is plenty to order from the food ordering screen, although it will take a bit to get used to it. The chicken is absolutely amazing, the biggest highlight food wise follower by the mac and cheese, rolls and cheese fries. Away from the food station there is plenty of fresh foods like salads and many varieties of drinks, snacks and a great milkshake station too (bigger then Wawa's might I say). The other best part other than the chicken is the fact they carry Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, which is a rare find in this area anymore!! The only downside is they got rid of the mooing door at this location...in all seriousness, they only have one cashier to checkout and about 3 self checkouts. Not bad later in the day but during rush hour it could be a pain. Additionally the gas is decent enough and there is a light at the exit to make leaving easier, but County Line Road's red light is on a hill and can get backed up easily and Route 309 is consistently busy so leaving can be a pain unless you are going right onto County Line Road. All in all, Royal Farms is a great experience and it will keep me and my friends coming back! read more

I had been wanting to try Royal Farms much ballyhooed fried chicken for quite some time, and Memorial Day weekend felt like the right time to do so. I ordered the 5 dollar dark chicken box which came with a leg and a thigh, fried potatoes and a roll. The chicken was warm, well cooked, still juicy. The spicing is reminiscent of a certain Kentucky gentleman's 11 herbs and spices, but not as salty. The breading adhered to the skin well and did not fall off, suggesting it was well cooked. Overall very good chicken at a fair price. The potatoes and roll were disappointing. I do not like the starchy flabby Cowboy potatoes. I don't need potatoes to be coated in batter, and the potatoes had little crispness. Just large starchy chunks. The dinner roll was a throw away generic dinner roll. The place serves biscuits It's a shame those aren't standard. Service was top notch from the order taking, checkout and order pickup. The counter person went above and beyond offering me a bag when I had failed to ask for one at checkout. All in all I will be back for the chicken but will pass on the Cowboys... read more

In a world of wawa's every few miles another option is truly needed and I am not sure royal farms is the option I need. Main food choice ; fried chicken , not a super healthy choice but I am sure I will pick some up against my better judgement. The prices for their chicken are very competitive and it is very good. I want to cheat on wawa but unfortunately royal farms won't be able to steal me away. I will try some of their other food options and the store is very nice but I don't think it's going to be s go to spot for me. 11-2018 I just had the fried chicken for the first time and it was good. I had the 3 piece meal, disappointing that it came with a breast and two wings. Wings were wimpy and nothing but the breast made up for it as it was big , juicy and delicious. I got the meal and it came with fries, wow the fries were amazing. They were big potato wedges that were deep fried and I can't stop thinking how good they were. They also gave a nice portion of wedge fries . I must say that I also like their coffee in the AM so if its convenient don't be afraid to try it. read more

First week of being open at this location. I was excited to check it out and grab some dinner with the family. I've never been to a Royal Farms before, but I had heard good things. They were telling just about every customer that they couldn't fulfill something in their order because they didn't have "(enter item here.)" When I said to my husband, "You and the kids can get the 8-piece family meal and I'll get something else," one of the other customers that was waiting for his order said, "I already tried to order that. They don't have it." I asked him what he was talking about, since there was clearly chicken on the counter. He said that they told him that they couldn't offer the family meals since they didn't have any dark meat and they couldn't meet the requirements of those family meals. WHAT?!?! Anyway, we move on and order sandwiches. The ordering is done through a touch screen. I searched and searched for a specific sandwich, some "Chesapeake chicken" sandwich or something. It wasn't on the touchscreen. My best guess? They were out of that too. They didn't have many "healthier" options, so I opted for the chicken BLT sandwich. My husband finished the order and we proceeded to grab a couple things in the shop. We walked around for a good 10 minutes or more. Then we paid. Total came to $31.09. A bit pricey for what we got. We go back to wait for our order and we hear our number called. Thinking we were set and ready to go, the woman behind the counter says, "Umm, we don't have any bacon for the BLT sandwich. Do you want me to make it without the bacon?" I said, "No. Can you just give me a chicken salad sandwich instead?" She says, "I don't know. I'll check." She gets the okay and comes back to me to ask if I want it on the same kind of roll as the other sandwich. I said, "I've never eaten here before so however the chicken salad sandwich is normally made is how I'll take it." She replies, "I've never made one before." So I just said to go ahead and do whatever. At this point, I just want to get the heck out of that place. This is taking WAAAAAAAAY too long. It starts getting crowded as more and more people are standing around waiting for orders that have to keep being modified because they don't have what they need in the inventory. My anxiety starts rising so I asked my husband to wait for the order so that I could head outside to the car with the kids. I had to get out of that place. We were waiting. And waiting. So I call my husband inside the store to see what's taking so long. Turns out, after they finished making my sandwich, they realized they never made the rest of the order and they still had to put that together. I told him to just tell them to forget and to go get our money back. He's much nicer than I am and calmly told me that it was almost done and he'd be out in a minute. I was quite irritated. Total, we were there for 25-30 minutes and it was not a good experience. We came home and sat down to eat. And it was average. My husband enjoyed the fried chicken, but everything else was just okay. Hopefully the longer they're open, they will be able to get their act together. They obviously weren't ready to open the store yet and it showed. Moral of the story... I suspect Royal Farms is the victim of an unlimited marketing budget. The fried chicken was very, very good. Everything else about the place disappointed. I went in the middle of a weekday afternoon. I figured out how to place my order at the kiosk and decided to pay for my order. The clerk had disappeared. I saw someone preparing food behind the counter but she was gone too. I walked around for a bit anticipating future visits. Where was food? Where were the employees? Finally saw my food, boxed behind the counter. I just came from the Royal Farms store in Line Lexington, PA and they now have no cashiers in the store anymore, just these stupid self pay machines. Is this company stupid? Do they not want my money? I can go just across the street to Dunkin Donuts or up the street to WaWa and get 10X better service. This is a new Royal Farms that opened up where the Colmar Burger King used to be. This location allows easy access from both County Line Road and Route 309. Royal Farms is a serious competitor for Wawa. Like Wawa, Royal Farms also sells a variety of convenience store items, cold beverages, prepared foods, and gas. Their claim to fame is their fried chicken, although I don't think it's significantly better than any other fried chicken place. Restrooms and the store, both inside and outside, seem decently clean for now. The only downside was the employees. They were more engrossed in chatting than in helping customers, and when they did help customers, they seemed a bit surly. Hopefully that situation will improve but it is probably the reason why the Wawa store a bit down Rt 309 is more popular. read more

I was anxious to try this place after it opened as an alternative to Wawa. I love Wawa coffee but all of them are such madhouses in the morning! So I have stopped here quite a few times since it opened. In the beginning it was very clean and a nice store. Over the past couple of months it has really deteriorated. Overflowing trash, coffee bar seems to always be a mess. The topper was this week on two occasions I stopped at roughly 6:30 am and ALL of the coffee urns were empty. You would think that the most important thing to have first thing in the morning is coffee ready to go. I walked out on both occasions and I think I am finally done. To be totally honest the thing that kept me going back when I knew I shouldn't was that they were always empty... easy in, easy out.... well, no more! read more

Honestly I was not looking forward to this Royal Farms being built. It's an eyesore. I told myself I was not going to support it or go there. I gave in and stopped to see how it was and what they had to offer. Upon getting out of my truck the first thing I saw was throw up all over the front of the building. It was disgusting. I went in and looked around decided to try a chicken sandwich. The chicken was rubbery, the bread was moist and it gave me a stomachache. The people in the store seem to not really care and looked like they would rather be anywhere else. I don't blame them it's Royal Farms. I urge you to Drive 20 seconds up the road to the Line Lexington Sunoco. The local Sunoco is always clean, the food is always fresh and the employees are always nice. read more

When we walked in, there were literally 11 or 12 customers all just standing around the main food counter - all of them looking annoyed. It was obvious all had ordered and were waiting for their food. After spending 5 mins or so looking at the menu options- we saw that not even one person had been served. Finally one of the people told me they'd been waiting for over 20 minutes - so we gave up. I've been to Wawa MANY times when there were 10+ people waiting for food - but never more than a minute goes by without someone getting their order. This place appears to be trying desperately to appeal to the Wawa crowd; however, charging more than Wawa for things like packaged fruit and such really isn't the way to do it. The breakfast sandwiches are awful when I compare them to the deliciousness that is a Wawa biscuit...so why they think they can get away with charging so much for a breakfast item is beyond me. The chicken is fair...the sides that come with said chicken taste sad and flavorless, like Poseidon's sandy butt hole. And the staff...let's not forget the staff! My fiancee and I visited this new-ish Royal Farms location for the first time today and ordered a bunch of food. The cashier had to keep going back and forth between checking people out and making food, because they were woefully understaffed, with a 10+ minute wait to get food. I ordered one of the "famous pulled chicken sandwiches", and had a nice sharp bone scrape the inside of my mouth as soon as I bit into it. I pulled that and a second bone from the chicken in my sandwich before throwing it out. I paid by credit card and have two holds for the purchase on my online statement as of now, if both of them are still there after the weekend I'll have to dispute a charge on top of not eating the food I paid for. Great place for fried chicken but terrible customer service. One particular cashier told my friend group of 3 and I that if we were not eating anything we needed to leave, when we had purchased about $20 worth of drinks and were sitting quietly at a table. Not to mention the store was empty. Whenever she checks out anyone she does not greet them or thank them, which is the bare minimum anyone dealing with customers could do. I work at a customer service desk and I thought Wawa had bad customer service! This woman takes the cake.
