I booked 1 2-hour session and 5 4-hour sessions. The first issue I had with this company was that they cancelled the 1st booking at the time of arrival due to a "family emergency". I was told they would call back by the end of the day to reschedule. I called twice and my insurance called as well and we left several messages over the next 2 weeks. We finally got a hold of them and rescheduled for yesterday. The caregiver came out and asked what I needed and I told her my bathroom needed worked on and everything went smoothly. Today she came for the 1st 4 hour session and things were going fine. When she started I told her I just needed her help in what ever way she could as my home had become very messy and unorganized during my cancer treatment and since I've become almost totally bedridden. She said "no problem" and started working. About halfway I to the session, looked like she was upset and I asked if she was ok and again a few more times and she continued to say yes and I apologized for the state of my home and she said "that's what I'm here for". I noticed that she was going outside several times and then she came into my room and thrusted her phone at me saying "it's my boss on the phone". The boss, Myra, then proceeded to smt elk me that her caregiver was having a reaction to the cats (I told her at booking that I have cats) and that its wasn't her job to do deep cleaning. I NEVER ONCE asked the girl to do any deep cleaning. She then tells me "you need more help than we are supposed to give you." And then the caregiver left. I don't understand people. How they can be so rude to people who are already down and kick them. Please stay away from this company. So unprofessional and rude.

I cannot say enough good things about Monica, Lisa and their team from Gentle Care Home Assistance…read more Over 4 years my mother's care went from minor daily check-ins to close to full time care as her eye sight went from poor to total blindness due to glaucoma. They earned the trust of both my mother (currently 92) and myself. I live in California and knowing that I could trust Monica and Lisa to look out for my mother and I could contact them at any time was my highest priority. The team of caregivers lead by Monica and Lisa were caring and giving. They did the daily tasks well of making sure my mother was comfortable, safe, consistent with her prescriptions and provided companionship. They did the special emergency situations exceptionally well, changing their schedule to deal with falls and accompanying my mother to the hospital. Recently I moved my mother to California to be closer to me. My only regret is that I could not convince Monica and Lisa to move with her.

The first day the caregiver came and seemed very nice, however she went to lunch and never came back. She left my sister in her bed, out of her wheelchair. Thank God a family friend was there as well to get my sister out of bed and back into her wheelchair. My mother just being out of surgery couldn't handle any of this. When speaking with Melissa, (because at this point Nancy has also disappeared) she continued to say, "we are looking for a replacement". Which is strange because they had several other caregivers scheduled for other days so why was NO days covered now when only 1 caregiver disappeared. They had no excuse. I called for another update the same day it happened, and everyone had gone home for the day (at 4pm)! After much frustration we had to continuously call them for an update which they didn't have. So, Melissa gave us another agency to call and just told us to call them ourselves. Just completely dropping us. No urgency whatsoever. We did call said Agency and they had care for us within hours and updated us every 15 minutes and also covered the rest of the 2 weeks. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND VISITING ANGELS. They will leave you high and dry with no explanation and leave your loved one in a compromising and possibly dangerous situation alone. Come to find out that 4 of their caregivers recently walked out as well.
