    By far, the WORST DME vendor we have ever had the displeasure of working with. This place is a complete joke when it comes to customer service. They constantly redirect phone calls to other departments that just redirect you back to the original department. So it's a constant loop that eventually ends in being connected to a voicemail that is never checked. They are also the only vendor contracted with UHC AHCCCS plans. So many our patients don't have a choice but to endure the long wait times, unanswered phones calls, and cancelled orders. The intake reps you eventually speak with also illegally state at times that they are not accepting new patients - even though patients with UHC AHCCCS have no other alternative. Literally, not one. Keep in mind, if a vendor is contracted with a particular insurance company, they legally have to accept patients with that particular insurance. Now keep in mind, no amount of complaining online or over the phone will make any difference. What everyone needs to do is to go directly to your insurance to make the complaints. Get them involved because they will begin the investigations into why this company is not fulfilling their contractual obligations. But that's just the first step. Here are some other things that every patient, caregiver, or consumer can do. 1) Gather identifying company info such as National Provider ID (NPI) number and taxonomy. I'll make that part east for you. Here is all the identifying info for Preferred. NPI Number: 1386688414 Medicaid Identifier: 092545 Primary Taxonomy: 332B00000X Secondary Taxonomy: 332BX2000X 2) File a complaint with Medicare by calling 1-800-633-4227 3) File a complaint with the Arizona Medical Board by going to azmd.gov/Regulation/Regulation 4) File a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General by going to azag.gov/complaints/consumer. Or you can call them at (602) 542-5763 5) File a complaint with the Arizona Department of Insurance by calling (602) 364-2499. They take the time to get to know their clients and follow through until caregiver and family are content. If there's a problem, someone from Sunland picks up the phone and immediately helps. Their billing system is clear and organized. Their caregivers are caring and trained, and managers, like Jerry, are in touch with the day to day running of the business and will know your name. I wouldn't hesitate to sign up with Sunland if someone in your family (or you) needs home health support.
