so this would've been a typical 2 1/2 to 3 star review because I wandered about the store looking…read morefor some help to cut some vinyl flooring and well everyone seemed very enthusiastic to help. There was very little follow through. So after a decent wait, the saving grace for this review was a gentleman named Chase who helped cut the 18 feet of the vinyl floor I needed and then helped me get it to the front so that I can check out. Aside from that, it's just basically another big box retailer that customer service is probably not even gonna make the top five reasons to go there. And to be clear, I'm not nitpicking we're talking 10 o'clock on a weekday so it's not like the store was packed Ample parking this one's a little odd though cause it's kind off by itself with a attached strip model and kind of appears to be a industrial area, but had the usual suspects in terms of selection and everything else.

IMHO Halloween and…read moreChristmas decorations are already out on display! I don't buy these things, but it sure makes the place look festive! The main reason why I love shopping at Lowe's is for their clearance rack of plants. These plants don't look dead or dried up; they are priced low in order to be moved out for new inventory. Other nurseries offer 50% off for crappy plants. Go to Lowe's, you'll find quality plants to choose from. Today I found some $4.98 mums in various colors for only $2 a pot. Sameeh was the nursery's front-end cashier. I appreciated that he began our transaction by asking if we qualified for a military discount. We did not, but it was good that he asked. I made sure that he knew my plants were on clearance for $2, and he quickly processed the discount. Sameeh was very friendly in our interaction. He is a great asset to the company. Our first reason to shop at Lowe's today was to do an exchange of a propane tank. While my husband went inside to facilitate that, I waited outside with our empty tank in a cart (since these are not allowed inside the store). A kind gentleman named Oscar, who walked from the parking lot, asked if I needed help and I explained that I was just waiting for my husband to finish up the exchange transaction. Oscar then proceeded to open one of the propane cages, put my empty one in, and then opened another propane cage to get a refilled one! This is another example of great customer service. I didn't know that Oscar was a Lowe's employee at first, but I was impressed that he saw a customer in need and took care of it! Get thee to Lowe's, you won't regret it!

Great selection and fair prices on tools, appliances, wood, doors, etc... Also can get pro level power tools here--that's why there are so many professionals going here daily to get tools, parts, accessories, and materials for their jobs. Customer service has been excellent for returns as well.

We used to be loyal Home Depot customers and really appreciated this Milpitas location. The crew…read morewas always helpful when we needed assistance finding materials or had questions about our projects. They made shopping here a pleasant and productive experience. Unfortunately, things have changed dramatically. Last year, we went there to purchase windows for our kitchen, and the experience was incredibly frustrating. We've made at least three separate trips to the store specifically to work with someone at the windows desk, and each time we've encountered the same problem: no one is there. Our Experience: Visit 1: No one at the windows desk. Went to customer service, they used the intercom to call for assistance, but no one showed up. We were told staff were at lunch and asked to come back another time. Visit 2: Again, no one at the windows desk. This time we were told they were at a training class. Visit 3: Same story - desk unmanned, no help available. We were finally able to get help on our fourth visit, but the repeated trips were frustrating and time-consuming. I understand staff need lunch breaks and training is important, but there should be coverage for specialized departments like windows, especially during regular business hours. It's unreasonable to expect customers to make multiple trips hoping someone will be available. I'm not sure if this is a staffing shortage issue, but Home Depot needs to ensure they have adequate staff to support customer needs, particularly in departments that require expertise and consultation.

I love the service and convenience of this store and hate making the billionaire big box owners and…read morethat bald guy at that online place richer, so I shop OSH first. They've really honored the tradition of the former Orchard Supply Hardware. I try to make this my first stop when looking for hardware items and avoid the big box stores. (At least as my first stop, more on that..) The challenge I have is that about a third of the time, I won't find what I'm looking for here and have to look elsewhere anyway. I love, though, how there are knowledgeable people working here who are genuinely interested in and available to help me. Their stores are a nice, manageable size (I don't feel like I need a roadmap to get around them, like the big box guys.) Plus there are often liquidation deals and sales that make things enticing. If you support local retail, as I do, I recommend popping into your local Outdoor Supply Hardware next time you need a hardware item!

IMHO Again, I was…read morelured into the store for the advertised 20% Senior discount on this particular Wednesday. I don't pay full price unless I can't do without! I specifically came for some zinnia flower seeds, and they had a great selection of Renee's Garden seeds. I picked up 5 packets and then headed out into the garden section to see what else might pique my interest. I saw some colorful plastic and durable pots in various sizes. I couldn't figure out the gallon sizes of the pots even when looking at the price labels. Instead of gallon sizes, it gave inch measurements. Oh well, I guess I'll have to eyeball it. At the register I reminded the cashier about my senior discount, and he asked for my phone number. None of the numbers worked (even though they have in the past), so we resorted to using my husband's number. The store was festively decorated for Christmas, and I might come back for some cute lawn decorations, when they are discounted after the holidays! LOL Can't wait to sow my zinnia seeds for next year's summer blooms!
