Jagerschnitzel is amazing! Service is always top notch. Never a complaint coming here!

Came here on 5/4 a Wednesday night during the evening after the tornado in Seminole touched down. Probably not the most average of visits since me and 2 co-workers were literally the only patrons in the entire place. The severe weather in the area kept the public at home, but we braved the weather to give this spot a shot. Ordered the pretzel and a round of beers, the pretzel was giant, enough for 3 healthy dudes who had been working all day. Fresh and delicious. Crusty exterior and chewy center. Excellent. Mains were the jagerschnitzel and spatzel, and the goulash. The schnitzel was amazing, the gravy hearty and complimented the pork meat well. The spatzel was awesome. A very filling meal. Slept well afterwards. Co-worker enjoyed the goulash and is a native of Chicago so thats saying something. This food is dense, so be sure a couch is in your future. The music was terrible. Since we were literally the people in the restaurant besides our 2 servers and the kitchen staff, and there was no background noise of people talking and waitstaff running around, so all we could hear was the corny German oompah music that made it seem like we were at Disney World. I really enjoyed this restaurant! The waitress we had was so friendly, and very attentive, we never had to ask for a single refill. The Bavarian pretzel is huge and delicious, looove the mustard! My mom ordered jaeger schnitzel and it was SO good!! My brother had the pork shoulder with gravy and it was so tender and delicious. The potatoes were a bit over cooked in the German potato salad but the flavor was good. My husband enjoyed his chicken sausage but said it's definitely spicy. I knocked off a star because the brisket isn't good at all. It says it's broiled but I think they meant to say boiled. It was so full of fat it was hard to find actual meat to eat, and it comes with a cup of horseradish sauce on the side, and the brussel sprouts were mushy and reminded me of the birdseye steamable bags, maybe it was, I'm not sure. The home fried potatoes were decent. I didn't care for the cream streusel but that is my own personal thing with food textures. The flavor was great, i just didn't like the texture. One of my absolute favorite places to eat in the world. Their Jägerschnitzel Is one of the best I have ever eaten. Most people don't know they make their own beer, and you can see the tanks inside of the restaurant as you eat. On nice days, we enjoy the live music out in their Biergarten. You will not be disappointed. Getting there early, with reservations, on the weekends is strongly suggested. Now... We won 2 free buffets on their Facebook page. The buffet has something for everyone. The dill dressing on the​ salad was yummy, I had the chicken and pasta, green beans and red cabbage. The dessert is fancy little cheesecakse, muffins, and the most magical little eclairs that I've ever tasted. German food has been on my mind recently, so it's only natural that I find a German buffet. Royal Bavaria (RB) offers their buffet only on Thursday nights, so mark your calendars if that sounds appealing to you. The selection on buffet night is much smaller than I was expecting. Mixed bratwurst, schnitzel, sauerbraten, some kind of ham, and some sides (beans, potatoes, sauerkraut, spätzle, etc.). I think I've learned that I just don't like spätzle. RB's spätzle tasted like the mac and cheese that you get at the grocery store, which I'm not a fan of either. The schnitzel was pretty good. They had a big tray on a heater chock-full of them. Despite being left on a heater, they still had a good crunch and weren't completely dried out. The bratwurst was okay, however, it wasn't what I was hoping for. Maybe it's because they were already cut into slices, but it didn't feel like I was eating bratwurst. No snap with with each bite or anything like that. Far and away the most disappointing thing about this meal was dessert. After looking at their menu, I saw that they had crazy kinds of bread pudding (which I was stoked for). What did they offer for the buffet dessert? Sam's Club Cheesecake Miniatures. Now I don't know if they were actually from Sam's Club, but it was such a letdown. Not only were they prepackaged, bulk buy cheesecake squares that we can find just about anywhere, but they were warm too. I understand that, as a buffet, they're not going to put out their most expensive or labor intensive items. However, the current set up just seems second-rate. For paying $18, if feels kind of like a gyp. RB might be using the buffet to get people more interested, but with the lineup they've offered, I won't be coming back for a second try. read more

Usually we have a great time here but unfortunately this was NOT one of those times. Our waitress was unprofessional and made our visit unpleasant. The host was more helpful which is why we stayed. She was hasty when we asked to move tables. She told us she didnt want to loose her turn to another waitress at having a table. There were plenty of open tables and people constantly coming in after us so not sure why that would be an issue but we accepted it. We did not get the correct entree we ordered even though she wrote it down. We didnt complain because she was already mad about us wanting to switch tables. She did not ask if we wanted more drinks, and when we stopped her to request silverware she stood at our table while she asked the host to grab it for us. She said she had to go to her other tables instead. She only visited our table twice, once when she brought the food and second when she brought the check. read more

Very good German fare. It is very close to local food I've experienced in Austria and Germany. Portions are generous. Wine selection is excellent; I recommend the Red Relax which hails from Germany. The beer is authentically German being the brewmeister and the owners are from Munich. I've seen some not so kind reviews regarding the buffet. Yes, it is sort of 'meh'. We tried it once, you must consider the volume of people that show up for it and supply and demand by what they can refill quickly. I recommend coming on any other night. Make reservations if you do not like to wait 30-45 minutes for seating. That bit of information should tell you about how people feel about coming to this place! The decor is like a lodge in upper Austria. Bench seating and you may find different parties sitting together on long benches. This is typical of German restaurants that serve loads of people. Also in typical European tradition, you will not get the bill until you ask for it. Meals in Germanic countries are social events and are not meant to be rushed. The food is made from scratch, so preparation takes time. Have some appetizers, drink, and spend some time chatting, which is the true essence of the experience. read more

Been to RB many times. Amazing wheat beers brewed in house, amazing nudeln made in house, and despite having tried half of the menu, they've never missed. 4 stars because one server told me they all speak German and it's not true. I will return probably every month or more until I am unable to. read more

Sat outside and enjoyed the perfect early summer weather in the tree-shaded Biergarten. The band was great, and the patio had a pleasant ambiance perfect for a family or friend meal al Fresca. The food was excellent. It's classic German fare that fills you up with the perfect vinegar bite to round out the full flavors of the meats. The beer list was good. Can't wait to go back! My favorite german restaurant in oklahoma! They have so many options on the menu. Personally, i love love love the ham shank but i believe they took it off the menu eversince the virus. So my new fav is the jagerschnitzel. We also tried the sausage sampler too. All the sausages taste amazing! The salads are fresh, the sides including mash potatoes, handmade noodles, and creamy mushroom are all bomb! Service here is excellent. Everything is just perfect! Man...buffet buffet buffet!!! So this is my first time at Royal Bavaria and I happened to go on buffet night...bad idea. I ate like a piglet and had way too much beer (is there such a thing?). Tonight I was fortunate enough to come when they were serving pork cordon blue. They also had ham, schnitzel and various types of German sausage. I also had to good fortune to try the mushroom gravy and I will honestly say I'd take that gravy over grandmas gravy ANY day (blasphemy, I know). I drank a liter of King beer in a boot...yeah...I did it. It burped in my face. Rock and roll. Honestly guys...just go try it. read more

I will not go back here. We showed up this evening after driving a long way, lots of open tables in the Biergarten and staff standing around doing nothing. It was 6:45pm and they told us unless we had a reservation we would have to wait until 7:30pm. While they had open tables! As we drove away the staff was still just standing at the front doing nothing. Could've been serving my hungry family. Guess they didn't want my money so they won't have to worry about me coming back in the future. read more

Service was really good though slightly unprofessional on the hostess/seating portion. Hostess didn't seem to have an order or a plan for where to put people. She also quoted a party of five in front of us for over an hour wait meanwhile there were plenty of tables and we ourselves were sat at a table that could seat eight. The appetizers were really good but the main entrees all had the same taste so there was very little variance between the potatoes and the red cabbage and the meat which was odd. read more

First off this is not "Old Germany" which is the benchmark for German food in central Oklahoma. I go here at least once a year because it is a favorite of one of my dear friends. Average best describes Royal Bavaria. Don't get me wrong they have some pretty tasty dishes. But over all they are part of the pack of German resteraunts chasing the glory that used to be Old Germany. Tonight we ordered the Goulash, winerschnitzel, and a jagerschnitzel. The goulash was very workmanlike and mild flavored. There were good comments on the winerschnitzel but nothing outstanding, and the jagerschnitzel was pedestrian. If you're desperate for a Teutonic cuisine fix you could do worse but better is out there. read more

We had a real German feast tonight! We lived three years in the Rhine Valley of Germany and we miss Germany. Our experience at the Royal Bavaria took us back to those fun days. Our son had traditional schnitzel with homemade noodles. My wife had potato soup and the appetizer plate with various types of cold meats. I had the mixed grill. Get a side of the homemade currie ketchup for the delicious fries. All was hot, made from scratch and delicious! I had a mug of the King's Gold traditional Munich lager, brewed on the premises. Be sure to get the bread basket with a delicious hot pretzel. The mustard for dipping the pretzel is wonderful. For dessert our son had rich German chocolate cake and I had the cream streudal. Delicious! Prices are somewhat expensive but the servings are huge and the ingredients are the best. I was very impressed with all the hearty flavors. Our service was excellent! Okay, I will start by saying my parents LOVE this place and my wife has wanted to try it forever. I was leery, as I am not an ethnic food fan usually and I don't like Kraut... I know.... just shoot me. We met some friends here for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the cheese stuffed sausage, sans kraut, with mashed potatoes. It was delicious! I would definitely order it again. The dessert was incredible as well. We had the vanilla cream pastry and it melts in your mouth. We do not drink but they appear to have their own brews and had an awesome little bell they ring when someone orders certain drinks. The waitresses were in traditional German clothes, which added a nice fun flair to the whole thing. **WARNING: Watch your speed on the road there... it seems like a 60mph but it is not!
