Beware!!! I had a really bad experience with Royal Auto Group in New Jersey. I bought a 2014 GMC Savana van from them on July 19th 2025, I saved up for over a year and a half to buy this van to start help me start my own plumbing business. A within a few days of me buying it, it broke down on the highway. I towed the vehicle to my trusted mechanic and learned it had flood damage that nobody told me about. They even spray painted underneath to hide the rust. There was clear evidence of water getting into the electrical box underneath the van, which led to serious electrical problems. Because of that water damage, the gas pump and other electrical parts were badly affected, and fixing it turned out to be really expensive. When I called the dealership to ask for help, they basically brushed me off. They passed me around on the phone and one guy even said it wasn't his problem(One of the service guys with what appeared to me to be a Russian or Eastern European accent). To top it off, they want me to pay another $150 just to get my license plate, after I already paid my registration fees and dropped over $13k on this junk van. I also want to mention that they made the van look really clean from the outside when I bought it. Everything seemed spotless and freshly touched up, which unfortunately hid a lot of the real issues underneath. I'm also going to be making a detailed video soon with my mechanic explaining everything that happened and posting it across all my social media--YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and so on--so people can see exactly what went on. I just want everyone to be aware of how this company does business. And one last thing: I noticed they're very eager to get positive reviews. Right after I left, I got messages asking me to leave a good review. I did have a good interaction with my salesperson Lakeith, who I don't think knew about the issues. But it's clear they put a lot of effort into getting reviews right away. I'm glad I waited, because now I can share the full story, and I think a lot of those positive reviews are a bit premature.

Thank you, Max!

Thank you, Max! I saw a Mercedes SUV listed online, called the dealership and spoke with Max. He was very personable, attentive and honest. Gave me an "out the door price" over the phone, which was very reasonable and I was very happy with. It was a seamless transaction, he did not make me feel pressured at all. It was his day off, and he came in just to help me close the sale!! Who does that??!! Every vehicle purchase experience should be just like this. Thank you so much, Max!

I purchased a used 2020 Hyundai Palisade from Hessert Chevrolet of Cherry Hill on July 25, 2026…read more Unfortunately, my experience after the sale has been extremely concerning. Within roughly 10 days of purchase, I brought the vehicle back to Hessert because I was hearing an abnormal knocking/noise and seeing what appeared to be fluid leaking underneath it. I showed photographs of the apparent leak. I was advised that they could not identify a leak and could not duplicate the noise. I relied on that assessment and continued driving the vehicle. Approximately two weeks later, while my family was on vacation in the Georgia mountains, the Palisade experienced a charging-system failure and completely lost power. We were stranded and had to locate a mobile mechanic. The repair involved replacement of the alternator and service to the serpentine belt. Our documented repair subtotal was $950, and the breakdown forced us to remain in Georgia an additional night. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of it. While driving home after the repair, the vehicle experienced another significant loss of power while I was traveling approximately 60 mph on Interstate 81. The vehicle eventually regained power, but after two power-loss events I was no longer comfortable simply treating this as an alternator-reimbursement issue. After returning home, I also photographed fresh fluid underneath the vehicle again--the same type of visible condition I had brought the vehicle back to Hessert about shortly after purchase. I am not claiming to know what the fluid is or what caused either power-loss event. Those are questions for qualified technicians. I sent Hessert a detailed formal written notice on August 18, followed by supplemental photographs of the continuing apparent leak. On August 20, I escalated the matter in writing to dealership management and requested principal-level review. I asked for a comprehensive inspection, transportation of the vehicle rather than having my family drive it back, reimbursement of documented emergency expenses, the relevant pre-sale/service records, and most importantly, a substantive written response regarding the vehicle. As of August 27, I have received no response to those written notices. I gave Hessert the opportunity to address this directly before taking the matter outside the dealership. I would still prefer a reasonable resolution. If Hessert responds or resolves the matter, I will update this review accordingly. I have retained the emails, photographs, repair documentation and other records supporting this chronology.

I did not realize that the inspection sticker was already a couple months expired. (purchased truck 8/2018 and inspection sticker: 5/2018) A WEEK LATER my engine light came on. I brought it back to them and they said they were "stored codes". All they did was turn my engine light off. I had a third party warranty that I paid for through them. They recommended Engine World in Deptford to fix my car. All the man did was tell me that they gave me a bad rim which was why my truck was shaking so bad and he also turned my engine light off and said they were stored codes as well. I paid for a new rim out of pocket btw. The codes on my truck all have to do with the transmission. (P0700 is one I can remember off the top of my head) I also found out I had a oil leak this whole time and bad control arms. A couple months later with a newborn I am still trying to balance my money to come up with enough to get this truck fixed on my own and pass inspection. I have been riding around with a rejection sticker because of them. (Supposedly they are now saying I worked the heads on the motor which caused vehicle failure because of no oil and anti freeze in the car...which is a lie) They sold me a horrible car at the end of the day. Thank you so much New Diamond Auto Sales for wasting my time.
