Wasted 2 weeks on shipping. Second car. Mechanical issues Third car. When it came time for me to trade in my 72k mile Infiniti G37x Coupe and switch up to another AWD vehicle, this time a Nissan Murano...I found plenty to choose from in all trim levels in near new condition. I hated to part with my 330 HP little speed demon Infiniti G, but it was time! CarMax gave me a great deal on the trade-in and excellent financing on the Murano. Steve Southall was the salesman and he made the whole process easy, quick, and simple from start to finish! I spent more time on the lot looking than I did with him! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous, even though I was a little anxious and a bit amped up as I usually get when making ANY new or used car purchase (It's not like you make a big purchase like this every day! LOL!) Unlike other big-name used car dealers, there was NO pressure to purchase their warranty, plus they give you plenty of time to shop in their lot - no one approaches you until you go inside to inquire about a vehicle. I'm considering keeping what I have and purchasing a 2nd car and I'll keep CarMax on my list of places to shop (If they have what I'm looking for).

When I called and asked about it I was screamed at over the phone and hung up on. Moreover the car reeked of cigarettes which was not noted in the ad, and Carmax tried to get it out twice and failed with the smell getting covered for 12 hours then back in full force. They offered to replace the windshield which was chipped but only made a safelight appointment and replaced it with a non OEM part, and refused to use the OEM part. I returned the vehicle and made them give me my money back and never want anything to do with Carmax ever again. Fuck Carmax they give you nothing but trouble and grief.

When I was looking for quotes, I noticed Carmax ALWAYS gave me the highest bid. So I decided to go with them. On the day that I chose to sell my car, they had an opening that same day as well. say WHAT?! Most other places would've been booked out already. Took about an hour to drive there. When I got there, I was impressed how spacious and clean the building interior was. The inventory lot was also huge. When I walked in, my name was on a screen showing that I had an appointment, and the check-in guy pointed me to the Business Office. When I got there, I had to scan a QR code, enter in my offer code that was emailed to me, and pass off a copy of my car key. Not even 5 minutes in, a Carmax representative went out with a clipboard and my key and started appraising my vehicle right then and there. Needless to say I was anxious, thinking that my mileage getting there would've affected my appraisal (I know, silly me...) After the appraisal, I was so shocked to see that they matched my appraisal online and there were NO HIDDEN FEES! What they said they would offer me was what they were offering right on the spot. They gave me time to clean the car and collect any last minute belongings. That was probably the most bittersweet moment of them all - saying thank you and goodbye to my car that I no longer needed. I drove the car into the service area, and they started cleaning and removing the plates right away. Dawn was an amazing representative that took care of finalizing the documents, and made the transition from car to check super personable and human. Altogether, this transaction took about an hour and 15 minutes, which is also wild because I wasn't expecting such a smooth transaction. I'm super thankful for Dawn for her amazing customer service and this Carmax for an efficient transaction! May whoever gets my car next take it to make some amazing life memories - both mundane and adventurous!

The sales rep also turned out to be unknowledgeable about the car, as they offered to make a fix in the contract that was entirely irrelevant to the car. On the plus side, this has been a wonderful opportunity to learn car maintenance! But yeah, look elsewhere.

I bought the car expecting to hear back soon about my title so I could transfer everything legally. Instead, I got the runaround. As my temp tags were about to expire, I called to ask about the title and was met with an incredibly rude woman and unprofessional response. I was told they didn't have it. Then, my girlfriend called a bit later and suddenly they did have it and were mailing it. None of it made sense. Because of their delay, I ended up having to drive with expired tags. One of the employees told me, "It's fine -- if you get a ticket, we'll pay for it." Which is absolutely false -- we confirmed with NJMVC that you cannot legally drive on expired tags. To make matters worse, 32 days after purchase, the check engine light came on. Clearly, they reset or disabled it when selling the car. The Carfax report also falsely stated an oil change was done -- I know it wasn't because I had to do it myself. After fixing one issue, the check engine light came on again. This dealership only cares about making the sale -- once you drive off the lot, they don't care about you or the car. I will never buy a vehicle from them again.
