A few years ago I purchased a station car from the former "Superstar in Rent-a-Car" and these mystical fobs are just nowhere to be found. When I politely inquired, the staff at the Hertz Warminster branch just laughed like I was trying to locate Wonka's Golden Ticket or the whereabouts of Jimmy Hoffa. I'm reasonably certain that every one of the thousands of vehicles they purchase every year comes with two keys from the factory, so why can't a corporation that prides itself on world-class logistics keep track of such things. I know they're expensive if lost but I seriously doubt Hertz pays MSRP at the dealer for replacements and could duplicate fobs in their sleep. The "A" answer is that they're lazy and just don't give a s__t. Just for grins I called and wrote the braintrust of OJ Simpson's former employer in Estero, Florida and incredibly no one in the Sunshine State seems to have a clue where these transmitters go to hide. I'd ask OJ but on the advice of legal counsel, the Juice ain't talking. Pathetic.

My review of Hertz Car sales is probably the only one you can Trust…read moreWe bought a rental car from Hertz car sales in warminster pa cash pay out We did not get a mechanic to check out the car before purchase.; We just basically looked at online reviews from purchasers , the vehicle performance score, safety score , gas mileage, blue book value and recalls. 4 out of 5 stars isnt bad . The reason why We did not get a mechanic is simple ,we could not find one at the time and didnt want to risk taking it to a dealer or Pep boys and they put there con artist hands on the vehicle. So in short We took a risk. So if you want to buy a rent a car here is the deal (My personal opion ) #1 . If you have AAA or other membership you receive a discount don't mention it until after they give you a price then ask do they have discounts for membership clubs #2 If you buy or lease change your tires to a better grade . There tires are generally just bad from wear and tear.See if the car still has the spare tire dummy in back. #3 Stay away from the cool cars as much as possible theyre generally most popular with customers and will have the most underlying problems #4 check for dings and dents that look undelrying on the car feel the exterior sometimes people have been in accidents and fixed the car themselves also rental car companies may fix obvious dings by smoothing them over but not fixing it totally #5 The fuel pump will probably be a concern because it most likely will be on its way out. Its common for rent a car driver to drive close empty on gas , ruining the fuel pump. This is evident when your gas is only on empty .You won't notice the potential problem if your gas is on full or even half a tank. When your fuel pump is going your car engine will make a wierd noise after gas is put in.After awhile it won't start right away Hertz should cover this under warranty but finding a dealer service center you can trust good luck. #6. FIND OUT IF ITS DEALER CERTIFIED #7 FIND OUT WHERE IT WAS ORIGINALLY SHIPPED FROM DONT GET IT IF FROM AREAS THAT FLOOD ALOT #8 CHECK YOUR CONTRACTwhen closing MAKE SURE THEY PUT THE EXCACT COLOR MAKE MODEL ETC. #9.IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR TO LAST 2 YEARS OR MORE Dont tAKE ON LONG TRIPS GET A RENTAL IN THE WINTER ENTERPRISE LOCATIONS HAVE A WEEKEND SPECIAL 9.99 A DAY #10 STAY WITHIN YOUR WARRANTY MILES FOR AS LONG AS YOU CAN #11.CHANGE YOUR WINDSHIELD WIPERS #12. Your breaks are probably on there way out so change them if you hear anything suspicious #13. check the interior carefully #14. Expect your registration to take forever #15 LOOK UNDER THE HOOD AND THE UNDER CAR # 16.WHEN TEST DRIVING BACK UP AND FORWARD ASK FOR A SOMEWHAT BUMPY ROAD TO TEST DRIVE. ALSO TEST DRIVE IT TWICE IN ONE DAY #17. Compare insurance they offerd me insurance through there affiliate which WAS actually cheaper than my other options #18. ALL THE SALESMAN ARE CHEESY SO YOU CANT TRUST THEM JUST TRUST YOUR GUT DO YOUR RESEARCH GET A MECHANIC IF YOU CAN #19.Make them fix anything you can Before you buy # 20.EXPECT TO PUT MONEY INTO IT HERTZ OFFERS THE BEST PRICE IN COMPARISON TO AVIS , ENTERPRISE, AND ALL THE OTHERS BUT IT COMES AT A.PRICE. ITS STILL ACTUALLY BETTER TO GET THE LOWEST PRICE SINCE BUYING A RENTAL IS RISKY ANYWAY. #21 Last but not least if you don't like your car get rid right away if you can

He was rude and lied straight to my face on several occasions. The first laughable lie that he told me regarding the car I was inquiring about was that he had someone flying in to get it that weekend (it was a thurs). Keep in mind this was not some rare, limited edition, car - it was a used/leased SUV. At least if he's going to try that "create urgency" trick, make it believable. The second lie he told me, which I found out after I bought the car, was that the engine had been completely removed to clean out carbon build up. Okay, at least I wasn't going to have that problem again, but I specifically asked about this problem prior to buying the car. The third lie was that he would have the car detailed before pickup. It would look "bran new" he said. It was not - it looked like it had been run through a car wash, but that's it. Another thing to watch out for is the infamous "Dealer Fee". In this case it was $600 on top of the list price. Dealers, especially used car ones, work this fee into their business plan to reel customers in with a low price and then slap additional cost to make some more back end profit. I asked about this fee, and was even willing to walk away from buying the car if it wasn't removed, but alas, he still had a good price even with the fee. This bait and switch left me feeling robbed. But the thing that really sent me over the edge was something I noticed when I first saw the car, but didn't fully realize until recently. A paint drip on the rear bumper indicating that it had been repainted, and not by a pro. I asked about this and he told me he had it repainted because the previous owner scratched it. I figured it was okay, because it didn't look 'that bad'. What he didn't say was he neglected to have the clear coat painted on over the base coat of paint! I gave it a careful look and realized why it was scratching so easily. Anything to make a profit and deceive your customer. Thanks, now I have to get the bumper repainted if I ever want to sell it. Before the purchase when I asked to get the car looked over he tried to get me to agree to having his service dept look at it. I promptly said no and insisted that it be done by another dealer. ONLY deal with this guy if you have the car checked over thoroughly and the price is below what you can get elsewhere while keeping the "dealer fee" in mind. I thought I did my homework, but I'm still discovering things. Don't get me wrong, the car is fine, and was a good buy, but I could do without all the absolute BS I was fed.

Beware of shady dealings here…read more I bought a used car here and had two issues with the car: 1) they promised to get an extra key from the dealer for me and never did; 2) they sold me an illegal car without a catalytic converter. Unfortunately when we went to get the car, they said their mechanic was already gone and we couldn't put it on the lift... I know cars and I could tell something was up with the exhaust odor and even pointed it out. The sales guy (the owner's son) just shrugged it off but I found out in later conversations he knew right then and there that the car didn't have a Cat in it. They claimed that it was legal to sell the car in PA with a Cat "test pipe" in place of a real Cat... a claim that is complete baloney because federal law prohibits the removal of any emissions equipment on a road car. I also verified this with two relevant PA State agencies. In the end I was able to get some money back from them but it still cost me money... I may still open a case with PA regarding this whole issue since I didn't get back what I needed to cover my costs and because their mechanic is abusing his inspection privileges. Bottom line: get the car on a lift and have it inspected very carefully.

However, what they…read morefailed to mention is the holes and cracks in the frame from a surmountable amount of rust, a missing AC belt, multiple fluid leaks (including a steadily dripping fuel tank), and rear suspension damage. Did not respond well when questioned about the validity of the new PA inspection due to the immense amount of rust to the frame, also claiming that it was not his responsibility as the dealer to make sure the car is in good condition before advertising and selling it as "excellent condition". If you choose to buy from him, definitely insist on bringing it to your OWN mechanic. Good luck...

I bought a 2005 Prius from 4 Below Auto Sales in Willow Groove, PA. After I purchased the vehicle I…read moretook it to a Toyota Dealer and had them do a thorough evaluation. As a result I would not recommend purchasing from 4 Below Auto Sales to anyone for the following reasons: 1) The vehicle was not suppose to have been in an accident. It turned out that it had been struck in the front and among several other things the radiator was cracked and leaking. 2) The rear brakes were frozen open and the front brakes while working needed to be replaced along with the rotors. It appears that the vehicle had been sitting for a long time on moist unpaved ground. The sway bars front and back are deeply corroded and must be replaced. 3) The heater was not working and as result in in a cold rain driving to the Toyota Dealer the windows kept fogging up and I had to pull off the road several times to wipe them off. 4) The muffler is being replaced because it is all taped together, corroded and carbon monoxide could leak into the cab 5) The electric door looks will not take a command from either of the keys provided so the car cannot be locked at this time. I purchased this car on an As Is Basis so I foolishly must except all responsibility yet I believe I should have been told the vehicle had been in an accident and from a safety stand point I should have been warned about the condition of the brakes. I am sending you this note to you because I believe people should be alerted to the practices of 4 Below Auto Sales in Willow Groove, Pa. I paid $5000.00 for this automobile and currently I am investing a little over $2000.00 to make it safe and runnable. The vehicle should not have sold for more than $3700.00 and the buyer warned of its safety issues. At $3700 the cost for a 2005 Prius with repairs would still be close to $6000.00. An individual who did not have it expertly evaluated would have been at great risk and if they could not afford to make the critical repairs would be stuck with an unsafe vehicle.
