A few years ago I purchased a station car from the former "Superstar in Rent-a-Car" and these mystical fobs are just nowhere to be found. When I politely inquired, the staff at the Hertz Warminster branch just laughed like I was trying to locate Wonka's Golden Ticket or the whereabouts of Jimmy Hoffa. I'm reasonably certain that every one of the thousands of vehicles they purchase every year comes with two keys from the factory, so why can't a corporation that prides itself on world-class logistics keep track of such things. I know they're expensive if lost but I seriously doubt Hertz pays MSRP at the dealer for replacements and could duplicate fobs in their sleep. The "A" answer is that they're lazy and just don't give a s__t. Just for grins I called and wrote the braintrust of OJ Simpson's former employer in Estero, Florida and incredibly no one in the Sunshine State seems to have a clue where these transmitters go to hide. The reason why We did not get a mechanic is simple ,we could not find one at the time and didnt want to risk taking it to a dealer or Pep boys and they put there con artist hands on the vehicle. So in short We took a risk. So if you want to buy a rent a car here is the deal (My personal opion ) #1 . If you have AAA or other membership you receive a discount don't mention it until after they give you a price then ask do they have discounts for membership clubs #2 If you buy or lease change your tires to a better grade . There tires are generally just bad from wear and tear.See if the car still has the spare tire dummy in back. #3 Stay away from the cool cars as much as possible theyre generally most popular with customers and will have the most underlying problems #4 check for dings and dents that look undelrying on the car feel the exterior sometimes people have been in accidents and fixed the car themselves also rental car companies may fix obvious dings by smoothing them over but not fixing it totally #5 The fuel pump will probably be a concern because it most likely will be on its way out. Its common for rent a car driver to drive close empty on gas , ruining the fuel pump. This is evident when your gas is only on empty .You won't notice the potential problem if your gas is on full or even half a tank. When your fuel pump is going your car engine will make a wierd noise after gas is put in.After awhile it won't start right away Hertz should cover this under warranty but finding a dealer service center you can trust good luck. #6. After getting totally ignored on Saturday I figured I'd give it another shot on a less busy Monday afternoon. Again, no one greeted us or even acknowledged my wife's or my existence on the lot or the showroom . We were there over 35 minutes & I honestly feel the sales staff was avoiding us. The one customer who arrived before us also seemed aggravated waiting for assistance. This place has aggressively priced cars that are a good value if you are willing to deal with their terrible customer service. I bought an SUV here a few weeks ago and upon checkout was told the car only comes with 1 key. I also drove the car home with the gas tank near empty. These are $300 chipped keys. After numerous e-mails and phone calls, they refuse to provide a second key. I just can't believe that any dealership would squabble over something small like this that should come with every car especially when you are spending $18k+. I AM BLOWN AWAY BY A CALL FROM HERTZ TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION, OFFER A REPLACEMENT CAR DURING REPAIRS AND REFUND OF CHARGES. 16 Nov. WOW...WHAT A SERVICE.... 2016 Dodge Journey I purchased had many problems: Extensive water leaks into the car and electrical faults. I paid fair market price for the car and did not expect to see these issues. Water problem still not resolved. In total I will be paying over $800 for issues to be fixed for a car that is one year old and has around 44k on the clock. Why I was not informed of water leaks or fixed prior to selling the car by Hertz is beyond me! The warranty is out and the warranty given by Hertz does not cover water leaks inside the car. Every time it rains there is a puddle in the car and so far we have been unable to locate this leak.... On top of this the heater is not working properly. Long story short I worked in the automotive industry, and the sales manager try to force me to buy extended coverage and Gap coverage.....she lied and basically told me that my bank wouldn't give me a loan unless I purchased these coverage. The only reason i'm giving it two stars is because of the sellers Barry & Ron who really try their best. It seems understaffed and the managers there are useless and unwelcoming. I traveled over 2 hours from my home to the dealership. The 1st time I arrived I waited a good hour before being able to look at cars because they only had one guy to show cars and he was out, while the others sat there and just stared at me without a word. After making a purchase, I arrived to pick up my car and waited another hour after asking the manager Patricia to help me and she said she couldn't. I then called her boss. I shouldn't have to call anyone to receive help especially into a place I put my money into. This problem was in November, it is now January and I still haven't been able to get in touch with "Patricia" to receive my proper tags for my car after leaving several messages and calling there. read more

Highly recommend. We traveled over 2 hours from our home to the dealership. Walt was our salesman. We did the 3-day rent and buy program. This allowed me to rent the car for 3 days, and if I didn't like it, return it and pay just $50/day. Since this is our first hybrid car, I wasn't sure if we'd like it. We bought a 2015 Prius v and love it! This gave me lots of time to drive the car in the day and in the night on all types of roads. I also had time for my mechanic to check out the car. The car passed with flying colors, so we bought it. The car rental fee applies to the purchase price. This is only way to buy a used car. The short drive time you get at a regular car dealership doesn't give you enough time to get to know if you'll like the car. Nor do you have the opportunity to have your trusted mechanic inspect the car. This is the only time I've ever bought a car that I didn't feel I'd gotten ripped off in the purchase. There was a delay in getting my license tag from my home state, and the 30-day temporary tag Expired. I emailed my salesman, Walt. He forwarded my email to the manager, Rosemary, who called me to tell me that she'd arranged a free Hertz rental car. No argument, no begging, no hassle, no having to explain my issue, again. She had a great solution already worked out for me. I tell everyone to go here and try the 3-day buy and try program. Incidentally, not all Hertz car sales locations are the same. Prior to purchasing here, I'd been dealing with a different Hertz location located in MD. I didn't feel I was getting the best customer service from them in the pre-buy phase. I was here less than 10 minutes but I saw all I needed to see. I was not greeted at the door despite two men sitting at their desks starring at us. I walk up to the first person and introduce my self. I tell them that I'm looking to purchase a car. The following conversations ensues: Guy 1: guy 2 can help you Guy 2: No I can't, I'm waiting for a delivery Guy 1: yes you can it's ok. He can help you Guy 2: No, I really can't, I'm waiting for a delivery. Guy 1: you should just help them. He can help you. Guy 2: (loud sigh) I can help you. It was super weird. We sat down with guy number 2 who proceeded to tell me that all of the 3 or 4 cars I saw for sale on their website are "not inspected yet." If they aren't inspected, why are they listed for sale on the website!?! He goes to check on something for a minute meanwhile guy number one is about 5 feet away, just staring at us. About a minute later guy 2 comes back and tells me that the Warminster in Bensalem looks like it has the car I'm interested in. I ask if they are definitely available or if there is the possibility they aren't inspected yet either. He says he doesn't know, but I can call. I ask if he can facilitate the contact, since you know, it's the same company (and I'm coming here to literally give them thousands of dollars, although I didn't say that last part out loud). He says no, but he can give me the phone number. No thanks, I have the Internet. Then I left. STAY AWAY! It was dirty and dingy in there. The guy 2 was friendly enough, but they both lacked even the basic customer service skills. Awesome car buying experience. I was looking to purchase a used Toyota Corolla and I needed a combination of things - low cost, low mileage, certified, and the ability to take it to my mechanic to inspect before purchase. After reviewing a few other companies via CarGuru, I was directed to Hertz Car Sales in Warminster from both positive reviews on CarGuru and via a recommendation from a friend who also had a great experience buying from there. Some of the selling points at Hertz Car Sales included a "rent-to-buy", no-haggle pricing, AAA discount, as well as having some of the lowest prices on the market ($1000-$1500 under KBB) while being certified with limited warranty. Basically I wanted to get the nicest used car possible for the cheapest price with minimal risk. I was assigned Walter Young and we did a credit application over the phone and I was pre-approved before I came in to do a test drive. They had 4-5 available vehicles of the exact car I was looking for, a 2014 Toyota Corolla S model, all under 45k miles, all certified and ready to go. I used the "rent-to-buy" for 2 days, which allowed me to test drive to-from Warminster to Philly and Malvern, then to North Wales to have my mechanic check it out, and back to Hertz the following day to purchase. All of the rental and car buying was done at the same office which was very convenient. Walt checked in throughout the process to let us know what we needed to do ahead of time and the next steps in the process. The no-haggle buying process was painless, straightforward and went quickly despite having several steps. We got a AAA discount and he recommended a local shop to purchase a duplicate key. I came in expecting the intimidating atmosphere dealerships tend to have and price haggling from salesmen. It was the complete opposite! Unfortunately, no one really greets you when you walk in to the office. I informed my salesman, Harold on my budget, what make and model I wanted, and how many miles. He made it so simple!! He showed me the colors available, went for a test drive, and completed the paperwork. No haggling, no pressure. Unfortunately, my car did come with a broken trim and a door that needed to be adjusted, however the manager Jim was really wonderful and got it taken care of for me. Excellent car buying experience. Worked with sales rep Walt Young, who is a patient, friendly, and experienced professional. We had reserved a car for pickup online prior to arriving. When our appointment day came, the car wasn't ready for pickup on time, but Walt was helpful and proactive in communicating, so we rescheduled our appointment for later in the week. He even came in on his day off to help us pick up the car and test drive it as soon as it was available. When we arrived, the car (Mazda2) was in good shape. It had a few small scratches but it was mechanically in great shape, and the interior was fine. When we returned three days later to finalize the sale, the finance manager was able to beat the rate quoted by my bank for a used auto loan (my bank quoted me 2.84%/5 years, Mike the finance guy was able to negotiate 2.59%/5 years with a different bank). In all, Walt was very patient. Hertz does not allow neogotiations to the advertised price (other than a $300 discount for being a AAA member), so the sales experience is very relaxed and straightforward. No haggling or pressure. The Hertz rent to buy experience was great, largely because we selected a car that had only been lightly used (only 33,000 miles, while many on the lot have closer to 50,000 miles). And I would highly recommend this location because of the friendly, low pressure, and helpful staff. Work with Walt if possible, and be willing to allow Mike to help you find the best possible financing rate. read more

I had such a wonderful experience here. Walt, Rose and Mike, the finance manger helping them that day, were absolutely great together. Great people. Now most of the time, car salesmen want you to get into a car because they want to make a profit, but the folks here want to actually HELP you to get into a car. I was having trouble financing through where I had originally went through (i eventually got an approval) but Rose was willing to seek out additional options for me before I was able to sort it all out, and I really really appreciated all of her help. Walt was excellent too, very professional and seasoned and definitely not the type of person to steer you wrong. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a vehicle thats fairly new, affordable, and does not have a lot of miles on it.
