Beware!!! I had a really bad experience with Royal Auto Group in New Jersey. I bought a 2014 GMC Savana van from them on July 19th 2025, I saved up for over a year and a half to buy this van to start help me start my own plumbing business. A within a few days of me buying it, it broke down on the highway. I towed the vehicle to my trusted mechanic and learned it had flood damage that nobody told me about. They even spray painted underneath to hide the rust. There was clear evidence of water getting into the electrical box underneath the van, which led to serious electrical problems. Because of that water damage, the gas pump and other electrical parts were badly affected, and fixing it turned out to be really expensive. When I called the dealership to ask for help, they basically brushed me off. They passed me around on the phone and one guy even said it wasn't his problem(One of the service guys with what appeared to me to be a Russian or Eastern European accent). To top it off, they want me to pay another $150 just to get my license plate, after I already paid my registration fees and dropped over $13k on this junk van. I also want to mention that they made the van look really clean from the outside when I bought it. Everything seemed spotless and freshly touched up, which unfortunately hid a lot of the real issues underneath. I'm also going to be making a detailed video soon with my mechanic explaining everything that happened and posting it across all my social media--YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and so on--so people can see exactly what went on. I just want everyone to be aware of how this company does business. And one last thing: I noticed they're very eager to get positive reviews. Right after I left, I got messages asking me to leave a good review. I did have a good interaction with my salesperson Lakeith, who I don't think knew about the issues. But it's clear they put a lot of effort into getting reviews right away. Stay away. This dealership isn't about doing the right thing. Went on a Saturday and test drove a van. Everything was great until I went to test windshield wipers and water started pouring into the van. Literally pouring in. Pointed this out and they wanted to keep it for weekend before finalizing sale to make sure it wasn't anything crazy. Ended up just being a disconnected water line. During that weekend, they siphoned the gas from a full tank to almost empty. (Confirmed by service this so done) and also someone smoked and drove in the vehicle. Had an additional 100 miles on it and smelled so bad it was like bearable on drive home. Zero smell during test drive. Me and my wife would have smelled it. We're 2 months out and still has odor. 2 weeks after purchasing I reached out to Max the sales rep. He was and is a pleasure to work with, sadly he works for this company. Let him know the AC is blowing hot and it's the first nice day to tell. He said bring in and they will fix. Brought it in today and they wanted to charge me $100 as a deal because it's normally $300 to recharge the AC that should have been done during 125 checkpoint. GM Ed said he's charging me because I didn't buy the extended warranty and he wouldn't of sold the car during the initial sale. I paid cash and they gave me a $300 discount off the sticker price. Really beat them up apparently. I paid the $100 after arguing with them as they don't care about you or the car the minute it leaves regardless if it's their issue or not. I don't ever write reviews but this scummy treatment deserves it. If they will do it to me and it's their fault, imagine what they will do to you. Do the right thing and take care of the issue when it was sold as a car with cold AC. I've done business with this specific dealership in good spirits, but they've messed up my car. I originally took the car in to get the check engine light looked at. I did not go through insurance because prior I had got it looked at by two mechanics saying different things. I knew that royal auto group has a service center connected within the dealership and I have a warranty with them so I took it back to where I brought it, the person at the front desk of the service department said I would have to leave my car for the warranty people to come take a look at it, ok cool it wasn't covered. I was then asked if I would like to come get the car or go through with the dealer fees for repairing the problem. I decided to leave the car and order the part(active grill shutter) so then the only payment left would be the labor.($264) it took a week for the warranty stuff to come / go and over the weekend for my part to come. I was told that my part was indeed signed for and took in over the weekend On Monday i received a call saying that they've found my part after not knowing who had it or where it was. Told me that Tuesday(the next day) I could come pick up the car in between 9-10 I gave extra time so I got there around 11:00. On my way up I got another call saying the car was ready. I asked the meaningful questions of did everything go smooth, check engine light not on, is it working how it's supposed to, did y'all test drive it to make sure? The service mechanic said yes to everything except for test driving it which i was told they would do before giving me the car back. I didn't think anything of it at the time because I was out of a car for two weeks, because of the active grill shutter and the process so I was pretty excited to get my car back. I stopped at a bank to take money out and realized the bumper was fucked I called and asked them about it, they said that it happened because of the way whoever worked on the car before they brought it put the bumper on(as is cars). I kept driving the express way and realized I was going 60-70mph and my rpm was not moving. I took it back to them instantly, the service mechanic took a test ride with me where I pointed out to him the problem. He said he didn't see a problem, but went from 45-50mph with rpms shooting up from being stuck at 1-2,000 shot up to 6-7,000 rpms. He said I wasn't giving it enough gas and I was. We went back I talked with the gm, he said "I've raced cars I know cars, I have a race car so trust me this car is running goooddd." At the time of us driving it, it was driving smooth but I brung up to him that the employees that were working on my car never took it for a test drive. He was saying that since he know cars and everything there was no way the check engine light was off it would've came on automatically if something serious was wrong with the car, I told him with my previous experience that the check engine light will most definitely come on.. he said he doubts it. Same hour on the express way on my way home it popped back up so I went to autozone And got a print out. now here where things take a turn. When it came to the bumper/active grill shutter they never told me they would have to drill screws into the bumper, that the bumper was messed up, they didn't ask me if I would like to replace the bumper with my warranty or anything only when I brung it back upset they explained it to me. They said they will not replace the bumper because they did not do it whoever they brought the car from messed the bumper up when they used a screw on the inside of the bumper. Below I showed before and after they put the part and bumper in/on. After the gm saying he would go half with me on the bumper, they then changed and said your bumper is covered by a warranty with a $200 deductible and I asked them how come they will not be replacing my bumper all they kept saying is because they didn't mess it up..(Look at the pics below) look below also to read more about the situation. (I took the car to autozone the same day I left off the lot) when it came to the check engine light I watched the service mechanic not turn on the car as he cleared the codes using the obd reader I told him that it would not be accurate without turning the car on. He said it would not make a difference. We turned the car on and the check engine light wasn't there for a sec(because he cleared the codes) then popped up with a knock sensor code. I asked them what are we going to do about this? They tried to play me and said they did not mess with the car mechanically and that had just happened overnight (trying to flip it to l messed up the car) they've had my car for 2 and a half weeks, sitting in the lot... i just got my car back on Tuesday may 21st around 11:05 was there until about 5-6pm took it back Wednesday morning with the paper saying what was wrong with the car from autozone after telling the gm I know for a fact the check engine light is going to come on(therest is in pics) read more

If it was possible not to give them any stars -that's what they would've received! I purchased a BMW, manufactured in 2022 from Royal Auto Group (RAG) in June 2024. The car had ~21,000 miles on it, it was still under the manufacturer's warranty and I was told by Igor that it had never been in any accidents. Within minutes of driving the car off the lot--it didn't feel right--it felt a little unstable but I was not overly concerned because I was buying it from a friend of a friend who had purchased 3 cars from RAG in the last 3-4 months. I thought that when I got a little time, I'd take the car back for RAG to take a look, but before I got a chance, my dashboard lit up with alarming warnings ie. Collision Warning System Malfunction, Initialization of driving stabilization, etc. I called Igor, the salesman, and sent photos of the warnings'. His response was "The car is fine" "You do know how to drive, right?" which I took to mean--you're not new at driving ". He then stated that I probably just needed to bring the car in for them to turn off a sensor. I told him that I would. Until I was able to bring the BMW in for RAG to assess--I decided to drive my other car, hence, caring for 2 kids with special needs requires extra planning and time that I simply never seem to have, hence, I'm always in need of a vehicle due to the demands of being their primary caretaker. When I did get the chance to bring the car to Igor--he called stating that his mechanic had done a thorough check of the car and found nothing wrong, other than it needs an alignment and suggested I take it to Midas. He then said to me "You must have hit a big pothole because the steering wheel was not straight. I responded," I did not hit a pothole." He responded, "Maybe, you don't remember it" I reiterated--"that didn't happen". I drove my car from RAG directly to Mr. Tire Auto Service in Voorhees for them to perform an alignment. Later, the tech. called and asked me if I had recently had some front-end work done to my car--I responded"No, why?" He stated that the left front outer tie rod had "play" in it (loose) and that the right front (passenger) bolt for the tie rod was missing. He stated that this typically happens when work is being done on the car and the tech. forgets to put back on the bolts. He then stated that he could not do the alignment because he couldn't get the parts. Again, I called Igor to share what I had been told. His response was," They're wrong, they don't know what they're talking about and they're simply trying to get your money", "Please bring the car back to our shop." At this point, I no longer felt comfortable with what I was being told by Igor, therefore, I took the car to the dealership where the car was examined and a report of their findings was provided along with an estimate to fix the issues. BMW's findings included a Carfax report which entailed proof that my car had been in an accident prior to me buying it, which I was never made previously aware of by Igor nor RAG. I informed Igor of the report at which time, he offered to have my car towed to RAG's auto shop and stated that they would take care of it. Again, because the trust was gone, I decided to leave my car with the dealership. I sent over to RAG the costs to repair~$2700 hoping they'd want to make things right and by doing so--pay for the charges to fix my car. They chose not to! The best advice I can give you before purchasing a used car is to get a Carfax report. If possible perform a VIN number check--in the event a car has been in a recent accident and it was reported--sometimes you can see imagines on-line of the crash and what the car looked like prior to any repairs. Keep in mind, not all accidents are reported to the insurance company, hence, some people may opt to have the work done without involving the insurance and in that case--the accident will not appear on Carfax and/or Autocheck, but, if the incident is eventually reported for example using a police report--it will ultimately find it's way on Carfax but maybe not Autocheck which is what happened in my case. It was found on the carfax report but not on autocheck which is what perhaps some of the autions and autogroups are more inclined to make use of or at least that's what they'll have you think. Never purchase a used vehicle without your mechanic (who you trust) evaluating the car and giving you the okay to proceed. Even if you have a good friend like in my case who innocently refers you to his/her good friend who works in the company or whatever the case may be --Always do your due diligence--unfortunately, not everyone like my good friend and I have a moral compass, has integrity, are honest, forthcoming, decent and want to do right by others. I bought a car 10/19/24. On 12/15/24, it had to be towed due to engine and turbocharger failure. It sat at one mechanic for a month before he finally informed me he didn't want to work with the warranty company Royal sold to me anymore. The one they said "I could take anywhere" and cost 2 grand. I called Royal, where their service department told me the mechanics didn't wanna work on it because they didn't know what the previous mechanic had done to it. It was brought to a Hyundai dealer, where they informed me that the engine had been replaced with no service history of it, so they wouldn't touch my car. I called Royal, where the manager told me he'd speak to the owner and to tow the car there by Monday morning (on my dime), and he'd let his team know about this. I called Royal on Monday, he's not even there and no one has any idea of what I'm talking about. Now I'm being told that no one has even looked at my car yet and maybe they'll have an answer for me by Friday. Their customer service is horrible, the entire team is a joke. Bill is a jerk. We spent two (plus) hours negotiating a deal. Then last minute he decided it was too fishy to have someone from New York want to pay cash for a car and to not have the title for the trade in. (Mind you I didn't plan to trade in my car, nor did I plan to pay cash. They said it would be fine, I could mail the title and suggested a wire transfer when I said I had the money saved and plan to pay the loan off immediately). He called me a criminal for their suggestions! Then when I told Bill he needed to be straight up with customers in the future from the start, he yelled/swore at me and told me to get out of his business. I have no problems with policies but you need to announce them before you make someone wait around for hours. Also, if you have "policies" you should not make suggestions to customers that violate said policy. I do not know how he hasn't been fired. Such a jerk! Next time I will just pay a little more to be treated kindly in New York. At least the sales manager apologized before we left for Bill's behavior, apparently this happens daily. We sold our moms car here, for a fair price given it's dings and dents and the fact that it set idle for two years. They didn't turn us away like Gormleys Auto Center in Gloucester City because I was a woman of color selling a vehicle whose owner is a Camden City life long resident. I purchased a vehicle on 11/27/20 which I am very satisfied with thus far. However, I am not so happy with the salesman/manager or the business practices that go on at royal auto group. First of all I had no intentions of purchasing a vehicle anytime soon as I am currently unemployed due to covid 19 and don't have the greatest credit. Unfortunately I was left with no other choice when a tree limb fell and totaled my car. Insurances paid off car loan but I was still without a car and no cash to buy another. Luckily my son has decent credit and offered to get the loan in his name. I searched capital one navigator and found a vehicle I was interested in. Took a test drive and told the manager I would get back with him as we were getting our own financing. My son was preapproved by capital one. Since we already knew that we wanted this car from royal auto, he sent all his financials to cap one. Now we just had to wait to hear back. In the meantime, I did'nt want the car to sell so I let manager at royal auto know the 411. In that conversation the manager said my son had to fill out one of their applications online. I made it clear that we already had financing and did'nt want credit run again. He assured it would'nt happen. Well he did credit check 4 of them plus the cap one decreased my sons score by 40 points. The manager tried to have my son use another finance group. My son was p/o'd as he already set up financing with capitol one. Waited 4 days and heard nothing. Called Capital one and recording says, you were approved and everything was sent to dealer. I called dealer and it seemed like he had no clue what was happening. He even thought that my son had already taken the car. My son had never even been to the dealers. I wanted to know what the hold up was as I was now paying for a rental everyday. He said he was waiting for my son to go in and sign the paperwork. (No one had informed us that everything was ready and he only had to sign.) So we go to royal auto. Problem. My son has no license. Manager said that now I have to co sign the loan or I won't be able to register the car in my name. So he runs my credit (which is bad) and the capital one rate goes up over 10%. Now the manager says there's an offer for 7% with the company he was pushing my son to go with from the beginning. So we went with the 7%. (found out later that I could have been a guarantor on the loan without being on the financials. so my son could have gone with cap one at the lower % on agreement.) I was at another desk speaking with my insurance co., during which time my son started signing the paperwork. When it was my turn to sign I asked why the cost of car $18,942. was not on the contract. He said, it's there, the tax, etc. is added to it for the total financed. Well after getting home I added up everything and was overcharged $1,895.00. On another paper it says accessories $1595.00. When I called him and asked what this was for, at first he said it's the warranty. I never bought any extended warranty. It was never discussed and I had no paperwork for it. I don't remember signing for it, he say's I did. So I had him email me a copy. He did. It said that $1595. was for allstate ACP., but it had no signatures. When I questioned this, he said he would send me a copy with signatures. This took him 3 hrs and 2 phone calls before I got it. Looks a bit fishy to me but I called him and said I don't remember signing but I have no paperwork for it at all and asked him for the info so I could cancel it. Thats when he said it's not that kind of warranty. Its because the car was a certified preowned and has new tires and brakes, etc. I am just amazed what people get away with and what they will say. I argued that I bought as is and can't be charged on the back end because the car has new tires, brakes, etc. So he asked what I wanted? Did I want to bring the car back? I said, I want my 1895. back or taken off the loan and if not, then yes I will bring car back This was on Tuesday 12/1. He said that he had a meeting with the owner on friday morning and would let him know and call me back that day with an answer. I did'nt want to wait that long but he could'nt do anything without speaking to owner, he said. I asked him to text me these intentions so that I have it in writing. He did. Friday came and I did not hear from him. I called him friday eve, not there. I spoke with him today 12/5 and asked why I did'nt hear from him yesterday. He had no answer except, I will call him (owner) and get back with you as soon as I get a minute. I am not letting up on this. This is theft. Some people may say, its only $1895.00 is it worth the hassle? I say yes. That is almost 6 months of car payments. The way it was done is a crime. He did not explain anything. Went over nothing. Bought a 2018 Nissan Maxima from these guys in Jan 2019. Found out later the vehicle was missing the SD card for navigation. Was told to come in a week later for the replacement SD card. They installed, it did not work. Came back 4 days later...same deal. Now, I'm waiting for a call from this clown named Gary (Of course). He never calls. Ever. I have to call him, and now I'm getting bullshitted. It doesn't take that long. Another week later, I call Gary. He doesn't have any news because he went on vacation (as if that is how a man handles business). He tells me to come in 4 days...Like a dummy, I show up. ...SD card doesn't work. I tell him there is no way Nissan of North America botched the SD card three times, I called him a liar and asked to see any invoice for delivery of ANY SD card for my vehicle (Which should be readily available in a real business). Crickets...He will call me in a few days...again. He does not call...ever. That was 3/16/19. In the meantime, I go to Nissan and order the card for $170. It took three days to arrive. I inserted the SD card in the parking lot of the dealership, eight minutes later, I have navigation. that was today 03/16/19. Keep in mind, I have been given the shaft since January. I immediately call Gary and ask him how the SD card search is going, he replies "I'm not handling that anymore". Huh? Which is funny, because I was never notified of such an event, and would still not know had I not called. Now, (Strangely), I'm talking to one of their mechanics. I inform him I have purchased the card, it took three days and eight minutes, and all I want is to be reimbursed and never see you fucks again. He has to talk to the owner... He calls back and says the owner refuses to give me my money, but has a 'Deal' for me... $170 worth of oil changes. WTF is that...magic beans for my cow? I tell him I can get my own oil changes, and just want my money...no deal, I'm on my way over there, as I don't take kindly to dropping 27k, and then be treated like I'm stupid. I'm not paying 27k + $170 for standard equipment. Did I do something wrong here? Am I the bad guy? Anyways, when I got there they were closed and It's probably for the better. First, I'm gonna put the screws to the local news, then I will be making a small claims court filing. I don't care how long it takes, I will be vindicated. Plus, I am petty. You can go to Royal if you want, but you best make sure you get everything you got coming before you SIGN anything. The last thing I thought to check was a navigation SD card. I know now. This dealership has the worst customer service ever. The staff are taught how to evade customers when there is a problem. They sold us a truck on Tuesday and by that evening it would not work. They failed to answer phone calls or return calls. Anytime I asked to speak to a manager I was told he was not there. After we finally got the vehicle fixed I was told that they did me a favor by fixing it after they knew the sold us a truck with a bad alternator and battery. I was told I would be reimbursed for the towing excess upon arrival to get the truck but that didn't happen. Shannon told me to come back today 7/11/2020 to get the money for the tow. I drove 40 minutes there and he refused to pay me and actually dismissed me and walked away with another customer. Oh now the manager that who I was told wasn't there instantly appears after I showed out. Instead of him trying to mediate the problem, he began yelling and screaming at me saying he is taking my truck back and he is calling the cops. Totally disrespectful. Each time I have been to this place there were customers in there arguing about the vehicles they had just purchased not working. Trust me, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE. Whenever I walk on to a car lot I always have my guard up because I feel as if they are just trying to get one over on me. I also feel they always try to add nonsensical fee's to jack up the price. But that was not the case today after a brief conversation with Debbie we decided to go look at a vehicle but as soon as we got to the dealership a similar vehicle with more options caught our eye's. We ended up making the purchase and I must say that the staff and service were First Class. We are extremely happy with our 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander SE AWD. Their prices are highly competitive and I would go so far as to say you will be very hard pressed to find better prices on vehicles with similar options that match the condition of their vehicles. All of the vehicles on their lot were extremely nice, clean, and their condition seemed top-tier. Debbie was fantastic to deal with and I am happy it was her that we had the pleasure of dealing with. She was very friendly, personable, comfortable to speak with, and just a very stress-free person. I have to say this may have been the best car buying experience I have ever had. Everyone we spoke with was just very accommodating. Do not loose your time! They announced a car both on their website and on CarGurus for $10582, but when I went there the price was $1000 more (they told the announcements are wrong) plus they wanted to charge an absurd prep fee of $1750! They were not opened for negotiation. I'm giving one star because that is the minimum, but they deserve no star at all! read more

Dont Waste Your Time.... This place has the worst customer service, And they don't care about the Right thing to do just about getting that commission at least that's what I saw. My husband was in touch with Dr.J all week about a Chevy impala 2015 14,992. Do the math 521 for 72 months that's 30,000 something what the hell is that Then originally he said around 421$ a month maybe a little less but the whole time he had another couple sitting there for the same car we ran to the store because dr. J said it was going to be a little while we come back he has the other couple starting the buying process for the same car without even telling us anything he could've called us or something we never told him we were out of the deal cause at this time it was supposed to be 421$ or a little less when I walked in he handed me my paperwork and said do you really have to do a trade in and I said why what's up what's the numbers how much is monthly payment and percent he said 521$ and he didn't know the percent at any point of the 3 hours we were there. A lot of confusion prices and numbers weren't adding up, I realized on my own that somethings really off there when it seemed like the price double 521$ a month is a new car not a 2015 Stay away from this spot stick to pine belt GMC or Chevy bigger car lots better deals read more

Horrible place. Makes you a bunch of fake empty promises until you actually buy a car. When I bought the car it only had one key and a couple other issues. They said they would take care of everything for me. I bought the car and it was all down hill from there. Once you buy something Then suddenly they don't care and treat you like garbage. I was looking for a specific SUV for 2 weeks and found my ideal car here at the 3400 Blackhorse Pike location. Mel Gutierrez is the General Sales Manager and he was helpful UNTIL I had my car for about a week until what looked like Coca Cola was leaking through my moonroof AND antifreeze was leaking from my car. I of course brought it a whole 1.5 hours back there to have it fixed LEFT it there to be fixed and was ASSURED by Mel personally that my car would be fixed in every way it was damaged. ( headliner through entire car including the moonroof screen was covered in brown water damage. and my water light kept beeping because all the water just kept emptying.) we left it and drove back again to pick it up after I had called TWO days in advance to get it. They said it was all done. Got there...... made me wait an hour to pick it up in lobby. Was told by Mel PERSONALLY that they took the headliner off and cleaned it and everything was perfect with it. I said I was told it needed to be replaced . He said we have special tools to fix it and if was taken off and dried.... no NOTHING WSS FIXED ON MY HEADLINER! It was still MOLDY ANDDDDD THEY DENTED MY CAR!! Yes they replaced the water pump but there's more damage done to my car than when I brought it. THEN one of the mechanics tried telling me the dent was there when I brought it. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I wanted to still give Mel credit for trying by he seemed to throw a tantrum at me as soon as my boyfriend got it the car to make sure it worked he say " CMON GUYS LETS GO! HES LEAVING, WE TRIED" I said what the hells your problem he's checking my engine, relax! This was THE WORST BUYING/ MAINTENANCE/ REPAIR IVE EVER DEALT WITH. Do yourself a favor and don't even nothing going to Royal Auto at 3400 black horse pike. PLUSSSSSS DID I MENTION ... we argued with them for an hour when buying the car because they wanted to add a BS fee to my car. "prepping fee" $3000 ... haha NO. It's nonsense. I just want to say that this rating is not based on my experience during the purchase of my vehicle (ppl in the office at Burlington location were polite and helpful) it is solely based on my post experience dealing with this business. Took 4 months to speak to the owner to attempt to resolve a refund issue for a vehicle that was purchased from them with a bad battery. Did speak to a GM there (Mel) who was responsive off and on but ultimately nothing was resolved during that time. Numerous small things went wrong with the car immediately after purchase (which okay it's used) but this was one of the more costly issues and battery should have been checked prior to vehicle purchase. I was patient with them and gave them the benefit of the doubt for a long time but I was not treated well on the phone by owner.. very unprofessional. I work in a customer service based company myself and if I EVER treated a customer that way I would be FIRED no questions asked. They made me feel like I was wrong to bring the issue to their attention and blamed ME for not handling it correctly and ended up splitting cost of battery with me. Very poor customer service. Even some of the nicer employees I spoke to over the phone felt my frustration after calling in to them approximately 50 times and agreed with me 100%. Time will tell if we end up having more major issues with the vehicle. Hesitated on leaving a review for months because I wanted to give them a chance to make this right but this was not resolved to my satisfaction. Buyer beware!! read more
