Roxie's is noted, for their fries which I never purchased. I did buy a vanilla ice cream cone and it had a yellow tint, looked icy, and tasted like ice milk and there was no cream consistency and I ended up putting it in the trash. needless to say I will not be returning. read more

When I walk up to the stand of Roxie's fries with 3 other people and all we smell is the delicious smell of freshly deep fried fries and when I ordered the man that was taking my order was super friendly and when I got my burger and fries I taken a bite of the burger and it was so juicy and tender in my mouth. My mouth was in heaven in that moment. When I taken a fries and dip it into ketchup and ate it The fries was the best I had in forever. I hope to go back during this summer. Golden delicious and fried to perfection, these artery clogging pieces of potato come in 1/2 pint, pint (it comes in pints!) and quart Chinese food containers. You have the option of adding chili, gravy or cheese for a little more. However, I can testify that they are perfectly fine without adding anything else. In addition to their regionally famous fries, Roxies offers burgers, hot dogs etc. Feeling particularly decadent (and obvious not counting calories) I ordered a very good chocolate shake. It was a little more sweet than I normally would like it, but it was very tasty nonetheless. Well, I guess all he beauty in Vermont has to end at some point. The place is a little obnoxious to the eye - trying to bring Coney Island to a beautiful scenic highway in the Green Mountains is, in my opinion, a huge mistake. Doubt seriously the locals appreciate the Fire Engine Red truck trailer turned Hot Dog Stand. The service was the very definition of "Ho-Hum". The owner just wants the season to end next week after Labor Day. This was sooooo obvious. She's been beaten and I would almost give odds she doesn't return in May 2016. Then the food - eh. I stopped in on Saturday May 22, 2021. Ordered a cheese burger, fries and can of soda. The burger was not not a fresh patty, but frozen in the shape of a settings symbol. As far as the fries go, they are not like Roxie's fries use to be way back when. The coke could of been colder. The meal was presented well. But looks can be deceiving as was in this case. The best hot dog and chili cheese fries I have ever had! The Michigan hot dog was extremely scrumptious. The bun was lightly buttered and toasted. The amount of chili was perfect. Ignored by staff, for a second time. Owner seems to have a chip on his shoulder. Staff is rude and non responsive. All I wanted was to order a couple of cones. So disappointed! I use to live in the area and come to Roxie's every now and again and had previously enjoyed it. I went yesterday and was initially excited but soon was let down. I had a bacon cheese burger which was absolutely horrible. I hate to be harsh but There was no flavor to it at all! It was over cooked and the blandest burger I had ever had, no exaggeration. The fries were greasy and by the time I returned home soggy due to that fact. I couldn't even finish what I bought and I tossed it. $12.00 or so for that to be thrown away is beyond frustrating. I will never be back and that is sad as its only one of a few places around the town to eat. Don't know what happened but its definitely not the same.
