Originally, I went to the gym next door and once I finished there, I still had some free time before going to pick up my groceries. Went next door to Rowlett Nails to get a manicure for an upcoming trip. For my manicure, I had tips added to my nails as they were on the short side and decided on dip powder in a light blue and light pink. Cindy was awesome, she took her time and made sure to check on colors that matches the picture I had shown. Alright, the first time I tried this place, management had just switched over, so I was kind of mad my girl was gone, but I really needed my toes done. Ms. Cindy was the only manicurist the day I walked in. She was rather sassy. She told me she had been doing this for many years and knew what she was doing. She also pointed out I had an ingrown toenail that needed to be fixed. Mid-sentence, she fixed it! ( How come I spent money going to a podiatrist, and they couldn't do that after a $70 Copay??) The next day, I didn't feel pain wearing shoes, and my feet looked great! I thought, damn, maybe she did know what she was doing. I tried cheating on her a few times, but I always come back. Her nails are better. They last longer, and she's cheaper than other places in Rowlett. I suggest you try it out. read more

8/9/23 First time to go today for pedicure and nails. Only one person there she could just do pedicures. The person who does nails only works Friday's. The whole experience was bad, clippers were so dull she hurt each time she cut nail, filed so hard it hurt. Heels are ruff from the grater. Nothing was put in water to soak your feet, told her water was really cold then she added hot water & overflowed the tub. So, little wax only covered your heels & so hot it burned where it touched. Took 3 times to get color right told her I didn't want gel polish told me it wasn't & the box said GEL. Polish around toes & cuticles no trimmed well. Very little massage. Today was Wednesday 20% off $50. (Which is the cheapest pedicure), and worse pedicure I've ever had. When I went to pay no discount, asked her about discount (oh I'll give you back $$). Then a customer called in could not understand her & she hung up, person called back & she handed me the phone to talk to them. I've been going to this nail shop for years, unfortunately over the last 3months there's been a change in owners. I go to get a full set and a pedicure, as the owner is taking o my nails she cut my skin. I try not to be upset. Its 45 degrees outside ans FREEZING in the shop to the point it's very uncomfortable. I ask if she could turn on her hea, she act like I asked her for a lung, and said it's cold outside m. I said yes and even colder in here. I'm paying so I don't want to sit and be uncomfortable the entire time. She then tell me at 4:47pm I may not be able to do your nails because I have a 5:30pm appointment coming. My question was why when I walked in at 4:38pm this information before I sat in your seat, you cut my skin and removed my nails. Won't ever return here again. read more

I guess I should have read the reviews. The nail tech was rushing a deluxe pedicure and because it was being rushed I decided that I would drop it to a basic. The service continued to be rushed and then came time for the polish to be put on. Let's just say it was quite hilly. This nail place came recommended to me from someone who is local as I am only in town for a few days and needed a mani/pedi for a wedding when I return home. This person recommended Ann by name. I stopped by without an appointment and explained why I was there and that someone recommended them - Ann specifically. Everyone was very nice and welcoming and Ann was super! I didn't have to wait and Ann did a great job on my regular pedicure. I was very pleased with Ann! I was then led to a manicure table for a SNS powder manicure (as I requested) by another lady. (I think Ann had someone with an appt come in.) I believe by the demeanor of this lady, and the others, that the person who gave me the manicure was the owner. The manicure was awful! All she did was trim, file, and do the SNS - no lotion, cuticle trim or anything else that goes with a typical manicure. Very disappointing! It even took me three tries to get her to file my nails the way I wanted them. If you have to go here, make sure to ask for Ann - other than that, go somewhere else. read more

I have been here a couple other times before, and everything went great. The other times I went there I had the same technician and she always listened, took her time and did a great job.Today though was a completely different story. I had a new technician, I should've known things weren't going to be good when she didn't ask me about the temperature of the water, just demanded I roll up my pants. Then she didn't add the usual bath salt soak to the water. She got started very quickly and abruptly. I asked if I was going to get to pick my pedicure from the menu, and she was honestly shocked that I wanted to have a choice in the matter. After finally picking the deluxe pedicure which involves a salt scrub massage and a lotion massage with hot stones. This is the best part of the pedicure and she rushed through it in 10 minutes. I also told her I needed an acrylic tip on one of my big toes because half the nail was missing, which she completely ignored. She didn't trim my toenails or do even close to a good job trimming the cuticles and dead skin, so now the tips of my toes have little pieces of dead skin sticking up. Then when it came time to paint my nails, she told me the color I brought from home wasn't working, yet when I tried it on my fingernails it was just fine, so because she didn't want to shake the bottle of polish I ended up with a completely different color. Then the painting process looked like a 5 year old had done it, and she didn't even put on a top coat. Finally I went to pay and didn't even leave a tip, which I never do. But then I was so mad when I left that I turned right back around and told them what was done wrong and that I would like it fixed. They asked me to wait just a few minutes, after 15 minutes had passed I got up to leave and they asked me to wait just a little bit longer and I told them "no" because if it had been done right in the first place I wouldn't have to wait for someone to fix it and told them I would not ever be returning. read more

I took my 79 yr old mother for a manicure and pedicure. The price chart said these could cost $35. The ladies were nice, but did try to talk me into getting more services (gel polish, hair removal,etc) that I did not want. When I said no, their demeanor changed. Not very friendly. They were not going to soak my mother's feet until I asked. The tech made her toes bleed. Then, when I went to pay, she said the price was $50. I cannot recommend. read more

Visiting Rowlett with a friend and went there not as a regular customer. She sanded my nails down too far then glopped the NexGen on horribly, practiced no care in the application. It started chipping right away, went back to my regular salon, it took forever to get it off, it came off in chunks and did not melt away as it normally does. I've never written a review before. Actually joined Yelp just now to warn others! My nexgen manicure was a huge disappointment. The lady with the bob haircut cut my finger with the drill, and the manicure looked like the texture of an orange peel when she was done. I asked her to make it smooth and she said it was smooth. However, she stripped the topcoat, buffed it, an re-applied the topcoat. It was still rough, very rough. I finally just needed to leave. I was upset and had already spent an hour and 20 minutes for something I would need to have re-done elsewhere. I was shocked when she wanted to charge me full price for such a poor product. I asked for a discount, I was thinking 50% to cover her time. She argued and said, "go ask the other customers and if they say the nails are rough then I won't charge you." I was uneasy about involving others and initially said I'm not involving them. Then she said it's a good job, it's smooth and you should be happy with it. At that I called her bluff and asked another client. The client in an awkward situation said, "um, there rough". The lady with the bob haircut said, ok, let me fix them. I pressed her for a discount and she said, no. I reminded her that she said, "if a client said they were rough I wouldn't be charged... " She refused and said she would fix them. She told me she had kids to feed and I should respect that! How can she fix something when she doesn't acknowledge the problem?? She was rude, dishonest and at best a very poor manicurist. I also had a pedicure and the other woman with long hair did a great job, but not good enough to ever go back! Consider yourself warned. Have been going there for sometime and they know me. My elderly mother's caregiver took her to get manicure/pedicare. I called and told them what needed to be done and "no extras' as mom has Alzheimers. On arrival, caregiver told them same thing I did. Caregiver left to go get coffee and when she can back 10 minutes later they were doing a facial wax on mom. Caregiver became upset and called me and I talked to them and repeated that I did not ask for that and was not paying for it. They replied with "well we asked your mom and she said she wanted a facial... and it's only $20". They tried to take advantage of an elderly woman and thought they could get away with it. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT BACK IN THERE AGAIN AND TOLD THEM SO. I DID NOT PAY FOR THE FACIAL NOR DID THEY GET A TIP!!! read more

HORRIBLE I TELL YOU, HORRIBLE!!!!!! I WOULD ONLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO SOMEONE I HATE. So I decide not to get my nails done because I didn't think the place looked like it was the most sanitary which I'm not asking for a lot, I'm a young girl and I wanted somewhere cheap but I though it would be a little nicer and cleaner. But my friend did get hers done, she wanted black matte with shiny designs on it, even showed the lady a picture but the lady did absolutely horrible!!! So we walk out and she shows us her nails again we were standing there talking about it, then the crazy lady stuck her head out the door with the biggest and cheesiest smile on her face and asked if my other friend and I wanted to get ours done, which I had already told her no multiple times. There was white stuff all over her nails and they were so lumpy so my friend goes back in to ask if she can wash her nails to try to get the white stuff off but it didn't come off, after telling the last they were messed up, she had the nerve to tell her that it was her fault because she washed her hands.
