I told her I don't do well with piercings, but I still wanted to get it done. She assured me it was okay, and explained to me that that is how my body responds to things of the sort. She walked me through everything, and then helped me out by fanning me and giving me water after it was all done. Everything is extremely sterile and clean, even the Q-Tips came prepackaged. Instead of having a constructive conversation about fixing the mistake, I was met with anger and a rude attitude. I was disappointed because I was simply trying to address an issue with the work and find a solution. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled made the experience much more unpleasant than it needed to be. I ultimately decided to look for another tattoo artist who is more receptive to feedback and can communicate professionally with clients when concerns about their work are brought up. I believe clients should be able to respectfully express concerns about their tattoos without being met with hostility.

But I made a plan to get it done while off from work for the holidays. And asked around to friends with tattoos for some local recommendations. I actually got a few people telling me to check out Legacy Irons in Greensboro, and when I reached out and they had open appointments, I made it happen! As an added incentive, my wife even got me a gift card to cover a portion of my new. I ended up booking an appointment with Jave, and from start to finish it was a great experience. He was great to work with, easy communication, very responsive and friendly, offering suggestions to my design, and guiding me in the right direction. During the tattoo Jave explained everything he was doing before, just so there'd be no surprises, and it went quickly and I'm happy with the end results! As far as the shop, it's conveniently located just off Elm street, right across from Little Brother and Natty Greens. The shops a bit small, and when they've got 4 artists doing tattoos at the same time, the space does get a bit crowded. But they make it work. There's a ton of fun and unique art all over the shop giving you plenty to look at and pass the time while getting work down. In addition to tattoos, they also have someone on staff who provides piercings. She charged me $70 for the piercing because I asked for the proper metal, titanium. Not only did she put the wrong jewelry in for my anatomy, she also pierced it incorrectly. I saw an actually certified piercer today, who told me that the piercing was done horribly and that I should take the jewelry out as soon as possible. I am extremely disappointed in this experience and would like my $70 (plus the tip I gave her) back, but I know I will not get that money. Please choose an actual professional over Vanessa.

When you walk in the building, the bell rings - and the receptionist doesn't look up. She was messing around in the cash drawer, may have been on the phone, but she didn't even look up and give me a one minute motion. She has her back turned when I walk in, shifts so I can see her profile, and then continues to ignore me. I gave her a solid 2 minutes, and then I walked back out the door. There had been someone sitting on the couch when I walked in, and they walked out about a minute after I did. If you want business, you need to put someone at the front of the shop that is friendly and welcoming, not someone cold and uninviting. Your receptionist is the face of your business and the first person your customers see.
