I've seen everything from iguanas to rabbits to parrots when I've dropped my girl off. The small animals all stay in the "cat house" which is a separate building from where all the dogs spend the night. This is great because it means they're away from all the sounds and smells of the dogs that could stress them out. All of the cats get a separate room while the miscellaneous small animals are housed in various cages. The cat house also has a nice fenced in patio area to give all of the animals some outdoor time when they visit. The booking process is easy. If you are a returning guest, everything can be done online and it's easy to change bookings if your circumstances change. New guests need to call the first time and they're always willing to give a tour before you commit to a booking. TLC for Pets is one of the best boarders I have ever worked with! The staff are all friendly and helpful and I am completely confident that they take excellent care of my rabbit. When I've picked her up from other places, she'll be stressed out and shedding like crazy but she always seems calm and carefree after a visit to TLC.

After 5 days of waiting to hear from them on a surgery date I finally learned that it wouldn't be for another 2 weeks. Mortified and unwilling to leave my kitty in pain for that long I reached out to this hospital. I got a consult the very next day and Dr. Sandy (who was suppose to leave on vacation the following day) stayed to perform the surgery for my girl!! It may be a longer drive for me, but if either of my fur faces need to see a vet, you can guarantee that I'll be taking them here from now on!! To begin I called months before and discussed boarding my dogs and decided to bring them in for doggie daycare several times before leaving for our trip. The reason I chose this kennel is because they have the home program and I didn't want my dogs to stay in a kennel for 16 days. I was assured that they would stay in Maureen's house not the kennel. They both went to daycare twice and seemed ok with their stays, so on the day we were leaving we dropped our two dogs, their leashes, food and beds. I texted Maureen who assured me a couple of days later that they were doing just fine and Lisa sent us pictures again telling us at day 6 that they were good. On the day we picked them up we were handed their beds in pieces with the covers ripped off and in pieces, the bedding was filthy, their leashes could not be found and when I express my concern at this Maureen indicated that perhaps I should not have boarded them for so long...as if it were my fault somehow. She then mentioned that they had a very nice kennel. I was stunned. I didn't mention anything as I was so upset. We specifically paid for the home program so they would not be stressed in a kennel. I texted Maureen later that night expressing my concern. She said because my dog had just finished her cycle (she is spayed by removing her uterus but her ovaries are intact) she was upsetting the male dogs so she kennelled her with her sister. Never was that mentioned in any communication while we were texting during their stay. I expressed my concern to which Maureen replied back that it was because my dog was so smelly and sleezy. Seriously? Sleezy? I was stunned by that text. The aftermath of a nearly 2k stay was hotspots on my puppy from chewing her tail so much from a nervous reaction post kennel stay and permanent damage of her vocal cords which our vet felt was due to excessive strain likely caused by ongoing barking, which is likely as she has never been in a cage for 16 days straight. This kennel was the simply the worst experience we have had with a kennel and I would ask anyone that loves your pet to reconsider before you bring your pet here

I am so impressed by the service I received from the Central Animal Hospital when I had to bring my…read morerabbit in for an emergency visit. In Kamloops when you need a vet after hours, your call is routed to a central line and forwarded to whichever clinic is open that day so I had no choice where I had to take her. The vet and the vet tech who were working that day were fantastic. Rabbits are very finicky pets and it can be difficult finding a vet that will take them on as a patient. The vet here was great with her and put many of my concerns at ease. He gave me lots of advice for what I could do for her once we got home. This particular visit was quite expensive but that was mostly due to the additional emergency fee that I had to pay for coming in on a Sunday. Otherwise their rates were comparable to what I've seen at other clinics. The thing I appreciated the most was how the vet tech called me the next day to follow up with how things were going. I really appreciated the caring and concern. Next time I need a vet I will definitely be bring my rabbit here!

I used the U-Do option for bathing my dog and we were put in a room that was about the size of a closet. I was told to clean out the tub and drain of hair and when I did, I noticed that the last person to use the tub had not done so. All this and I was charged $28. For washing my dog myself? That's a tad ridiculous.
