Greetings again fellow Yelpers...... Although it has taken some time for Ownership to offer a rebuttal, it finally was posted. In order to continue to provide you with factual, informative feedback, this latest evaluation of that response is now posted. Ownership contends that the "pack" is walked 3 x per day. When closed circuit video was operable, clearly, the dogs within the large play area were not taken outside; this was verifiable after watching the camera feed continuously over an 8 hr period. (There is insufficient staff to walk all of the dogs, on leash, within the nearby wooded area.) Sadly, the dogs continue to relieve themselves directly onto the play floor. The suggestion that existing smells on the floor contribute to the triggering of relieving themselves is lame at best. Considering that the play floor is sanitised regularly, and that it is a sealed floor, the dogs are simply compelled to relieve themselves onto the floor; there are no lingering smells. Don't forget, a single staff member is assigned to immediately clean up after the dogs "go". With regard to dog owners using the view window to check up on their furry friends, that window is limited to the small dog play area. Unless dog owners intend to camp out at the one window, it's unreasonable to suggest that the one view window provides proof of the dogs being walked, the lack of a closed circuit TV feed notwithstanding. TV feeds for dog owners was taken down several years ago; you should be concerned about that decision. read more

Not sure how this place gets the positive reviews it does. Must be friends and family. I brought my dog there for a one-night stay. They charged me 102.00 for a 4x8 stall. Upon picking my dog up, I was immediately told my dog needs training. My dog has been trained. When my dog got in the car, my passenger seat was immediately filthy (see pic below) and I noticed my dogs paws and elbows had some sticky brownish substance on them and he smelled terrible. Guess that's why they want to charge you 25.00 to give the dog a bath which is what I did the moment we got home. It took my dog 48hrs to return to his normal/playful self and 5 days later, he now has kennel cough. NEVER AGAIN!!!! I had a much better experience with K-9 resorts also in Fairfield. read more

I walked into get information and walked right back out. The smell of the place is so overwhelming. It certainly doesn't smell of a place that spends any time or resources to clean and/or deodorize. It reeks of pee and poo. Pay attention to the warning signs! This may seem harsh, but if you care about your pet's health, don't walk alway, RUN. read more

Rover ranch should get ten stars! Simply put... A wonderful place for your loved pet to stay, safe, sound, loving and caring. And you get to watch your Pup on the cam. A total plus. So, my dog gets nervous and stressed. He could and has thrown up in the past when I left him with friends or my sister. But honestly when I am away, paying for a trip and trying to relax, I don't need texts or emails saying everything is fine but Chester threw up. So, here he is happy. I get no complaints. When I pick him they tell me how great Chester is. But the real test is when we return for the next visit. My dog is happy to go back. So even though my sister would watch him for free. I believe it's better for my dog and for me if he stays at Rover ranch. Plus he comes home clean and showered and smelling wonderful.. And HAPPY! read more

I bring my foxhound once a week to Rover Ranch and she comes back exhausted for the evening and following day! The staff keeps a close eye on her throughout the day and ensures other dogs play well with her. She loves coming to Rover Ranch because every time we arrive she wags her tail and perks her ears. Staff is abusive to dogs. They do what is called "checking" the dogs by close-fist hitting, kicking, and other highly abusive forms of violence. They consider these actions 'safe' and 'harmless.' They also say that hitting dogs "doesn't really hurt them." They stopped live streaming for this reason. DO NOT SEND YOUR DOGS to this facility. read more

Rover ranch has always been a pleasure to bring my two dogs. This past weekend while being boarded, one of my girls unfortunately was bit by another dog and needed stitches. The staff at rover ranch was on it! They contacted my walker and me to let me know what happened, and when I called to let them know she could come back but would need to be isolated they were incredibly understanding, told me not to worry that they would cover any and all extra care she needed and the medical costs! They'd reviewed the video, and she was attacked completely unprovoked and out of line. The other dog was removed from daycare and sent home (not allowed to return either). These people obviously are animal lovers, and I would recommend the day care and boarding services to anyone. My girls are always happy to get there and tired when they come home. Unfortunately dogs will be dogs and these things sometimes happen but the rover ranch handled the situation the absolute best way possible. read more

I have been bringing my dog to rover ranch for many years and couldn't be happier.... the owners are the most passionate, loving people....My dog is well attended to and I wouldn't trust anyone else with him.. I have been on vacation and have left my pup there for several days, as well as when I leave him when I go to work. and I must say when I pick him up he is clean and happy ! Terrific establishment. Been taking my pup there for the last two months and I am extremely satisfied with their services. Their staff is caring and diligent. The live video feed allows me to check in on my pup throughout the day and you can see that there is always someone there watching the doggies and cleaning up after the them. If there were 10 stars I would give it to this place. The owners and employees are super nice and caring towards the dog. I read 1 review stating that the person saw a dog get kicked on the video cam. That is just pure nonsense and that person has no idea what they are talking about. I never ever saw a dog be touched only when it wants to be petted. My dog loves it there and loves the people she is so happy and tired when she get's home. I've been boarding my dog here for over a year now when my husband and I leave out of the country. We've gone on two long trips and while I usually bring my dog everywhere this was the first time I was boarding him. I looked around town at some other places but what I loved about Rover ranch was the live cameras. Everyday I would wake up and check on CocoNut to make sure he was ok. It gave me peace of mind and made me happy to see him. Max and the staff are great too. I always get him a bath before I pick him up so he smells good and fresh. I highly recommend this place for day sitting or if you are going away on a long or short trip. read more

I'm so thankful for Rover ranch. I have two dogs and my 1 year old is very active. When we go on vacation, we can't leave her in a regular kennel. She loves the opportunity of expelling her energy and socializing with other dogs. We can even see them on our phone or iPad to check in and see what they are doing. The facility where the dogs play are sanitized every evening. When we pick up the dogs, they don't want to go home. When Rover Ranch is mentioned at home, the dogs are so excited. I needed to leave my dog this summer for a week while I was on vacation. My vet recommended Rover Ranch and Spa in Fairfield. It's such a great place. The staff was so friendly, the owners very involved, the place was spotless and my dog came home happy and healthy. The dogs play all day in a supervised setting and they separate the dogs by size. I was able to watch my dog on their web cams which gave me a great sense of comfort. I was also able to get him groomed while he was there. They also sell great stuff in their boutique. I would definitely use them again and feel 100% comfortable recommending Rover Ranch and Spa. They also have daycare which I intend to take advantage of so that my dog can socialize on a more regular basis. read more

My Dog loves Rover Ranch as do I. She has boarded there for the past three years, and they do an excellent job. She is happy when we get there and she loves going back. Whether they board or go for the day, the dogs are out in the play areas. You can see the dogs on doggiecam during the day and the dogs look happy, playing all day. It's nice that they have two play areas, one for larger and more rambunctious dogs and one for small and more timid dogs. People are in there supervising the dogs. read more

My dog, Bella, and I love Rover Ranch! My first dog, Lucy, went there her entire life, at least 2-4 times a week. She was a very feisty and rambunctious wheaten terrier with incredible energy that needed to be expended. Bella, too, loves Rover Ranch where she plays with her fuzzy friends and gets to see her besties, Chi and Roxy and others, I'm sure. Having moved back to New Jersey after living in New England for 12 years and after our dog, Zoe, was very much at home at her NH daycare and kennel, we were, at the very least, nervous and anxious about finding another place in which she'd feel at home and comfortable. Zoe is a world-class Omega dog -- slow to warm up and feels most comfortable in her home with her humans. So, off we went to multiple facilities in the area to interview, take tours, and land on a place that we thought might be a match. Rover Ranch became that place. Upon our initial visit, Max immediately welcomed us to take a tour and answered all our questions. The clincher for us was the outside area that he and his staff were building. Zoe LOVES going outside and all the other places we visited had exclusively indoor spaces. Zoe has stayed for both daycare and kenneling with experiencing only a few of her own adjustments at the beginning (she tore up her fleece bed cover) and has now settled in quite nicely. We bought her a raised bed to bring for her to sleep on in her kennel during overnight visits and LOVE the way we can "check in" on the webcam while she's in daycare. One more good review...my husband was running very late driving home from a CT business trip on a stormy day and the clock was ticking toward 7 PM closing time for daycare. He called and was assured that the person who was assigned that night was staying over and would be there to greet him. LOVE that someone stays overnight AND that they accommodated his dicey travel that day. Good news...he got there in time and was able to bring Zoe home. Our pup LOVES Rover Ranch. When she goes for day care she comes home exhausted. The staff is really nice, they play with the pups and I love that the cam allows you to watch them. When she stays over night they take good care of her, and I LOVE that there is someone there 24 hours, they are not left alone. Kiplet is in good hands when we leave her at Rover Ranch. I decided to give this place a try a while back. I needed to go visit family in Florida, but I couldn't take my dog with me. My experience with Rover Ranch was just terrible. Going in, the place is incredibly loud and the prices are just ridiculous. I just took my dog there last month for a week or so, and she came back home with diarrhea not wanting to eat anything for two days. Thankfully, the vet said it was just from stress, but it was still quite a scare. I'm shocked nobody bothered to tell me. Didn't anybody working there notice? I tried confronting them about this, but their answer was basically "You can't prove she got sick here. It's your problem, not ours." I was stunned. I didn't know whether I was more surprised by their unprofessionalism or angry at their lack of care for my dog. The staff they have working there is a bunch of unmotivated high school kids. And a lot of online reviews I've seen are just the same ones copy-pasted from one website to another. It's obvious they're fake, probably written by the owner of the place. I'm grateful to god that my "daughter" is fine after all, but what if she had picked up some nasty bug from some other dog? The people working there obviously don't care, and when it happens to you, you'll be left out in the cold. You're better off just asking a close friend or neighbor to watch your dog. These guys will treat your dog like just another dog. read more

My dog Roxy has been going to the ranch for a number of years. My dog always is tired coming home afterwards from having a great time playing with other dogs. I know from watching their webcams that shes given plenty of attention and gets along great with the other dogs. They take great care of my dog and I wouldnt take her anywhere else. read more

There is no place else I would take my dog Tulip to for day care or boarding. I cannot give enough praise to Liz (owner) and all of her staff. Tulip comes in and is greeted like a child in kindergarten. She cries as we pull up to Rover Ranch and cannot wait to get inside. She is always greeted with love and pats. The web cam is great although I'm usually running around and don't get to watch her often. I know she comes home exhausted which means she was busy. I love coming to pick her up and peek in the huge window to see her but she always spots me. On the way home she cries too so I know she misses her playtime. I know the dogs get walked during their stay whether day care or boarding and that's important because Tulip seems to hold it in. When I pick her up she does her business outside before we get in the car. I think she knows inside is a 'no no' and waits for me. A wonderful place with wonderful and caring people!! There is nothing I would say to improve on Rover Ranch. Just continue doing what you are doing for us and our family members; our dogs. read more

My comment was based on an experience I had in August! I wanted to notify others of the mistreatment, lack of responsibility and poor care that this facility provided, in my circumstance. You should be ashamed of your aligations considering my experience was horrific and, as I stated at the time of the incident, you should have owned up to your mistake opposed to giving excuses and down playing the situation, much like your doing now. read more

Let me start by saying that the staff is very nice. I brought our dog 2 x over the last year and both times our dog came home sick. Both times with vet bills too which our dog needed medication. I did phone with this news, and a young lady answered the phone and was very nice and wished our dog well. I understand that boarders cannot know which dogs are sick but maybe things need to be changed and evaluated by the owners. Also our dogs pillow was ripped and chewed up. Our dog is very passive and has never done that so I'm assuming another dog had access to our dogs sleeping space. If not, then we wondered why the person who brought our belongings out didn't inform us until we noticed it when we loaded the car. Maybe they didn't know. Too much texting and on cell phones by both front desk and dog handlers ( we saw on webcams) we switched to another boarder in Fairfield. read more

Rover Ranch is the best. My Scottish Terrier has been to more than her share of groomers in Essex County and very few know exactly what a Scottie is supposed to look like. This is my third Scottie yet first since living in New Jersey so I know a bad cut when I see it. This poor Scottie has suffered through bad haircuts and bad experiences for years but, not at Rover Ranch. Not only was the new groomer knowledgeable about the breed, my Scottie was able to work in a little playtime in the daycare before I picked her up instead of sitting in a kennel. We have been taking our dog to Rover Ranch since October of last year and have only had positive experiences. The staff quickly learned our dog's name and greet her very enthusastically when we drop her off in the morning. Our dog gets excited the moment that we pull in to Rover Ranch and can't wait to get inside. I also like the "Rover Cam" feature, where you can view your dog during the day. I periodically check in via Rover Cam and the dogs have always looked happy and well-supervised. read more
