Good Morning! I have spoken with the staff at both Fairfield and Fanwood locations, however I am hoping my words manage to reach the Parkers. My dog Ben was staying at the Fairfield location when my worst nightmare as a pet parent was unraveling. I am traveling for work and am across the country, not set to return until later in the week. Outside of the heroism of the first responders, humane society and good samaritans, I cannot say enough about K9 resort's personnel as well as policy/procedures in place. Friends and family always inquire why I opt to pay to board Ben while I travel. This incident answered that inquiry in and of itself. Your emergency plan went into effect and was implemented with the outcome we all desire for live saving events. So not only do I know my Ben will be happy,loved and well cared for while staying at the facility, he will be rescued should an emergency erupt, which in this scenario seemed to be unpredictable and to no fault of anyone. After hearing that my Ben was ok and survived, the care did not stop there. Being a panic stricken fur mom from thousands of miles away, the staff could not have been more understanding and patient with my calls, questions and emails. They were so kind and reassuring with the ability to answer every single question I had while tears in my eyes on the other end of the phone trying to keep my composure. I applaud you as the leaders of this corporation for instilling this professionalism and compassion down your hierarchy. I sent pastries to the Fairfield PD, as well as the Fanwood location and made a donation to Fairfield Fire. Please reach out to me if I can do anything from here forward to honor the K9 personnel from that night and who continue to treat my boy, as well as me, as if they know how much my dog means to me. My two dogs were dropped off at K9 Resort on June 14th and were picked up on Wednesday June 21st. On Thursday they were both coughing. On Friday they were coughing, making choking sounds and were lethargic. We stayed up with them all Friday night. Saturday morning we took them to Veterinary Emergency Group, Route 59, Nanuet, NY. Both dogs were examined, X-rayed and blood work was performed. They were both diagnosed with kennel cough. On Monday I contacted the owner of K9 resorts making him aware of the situation. He alerted all of the owners of dogs that had been in that facility during that time. He also put a huge sign on the front door of the facility, displayed a stack of notices on the front desk, and alerted EVERY dog owner that had a reservation for the entire month of July. This was an unfortunate incident that was caused by an inconsiderate dog owner that placed an ill animal in a facility that could potentially cause numerous pets to become infected. The owner immediately instructed his staff to do a massive clean up and sterilization of the entire facility. I believe the owner of K9 resorts did everything possible to notify and correct the issue brought on by an inconsiderate pet owner. I thank the owner for his outstanding professionalism and will continue to use his facility for boarding our pets. read more

My dog, Bella, loves K9 Resorts in Fairfield! Bella literally leaps out of her car seat when we pull into the parking lot there and she can't get in the door fast enough. The owner, Andy, is a super nice person who is very easy to talk to about doggy topics and the accommodations at the daycare. Every single staff person there is friendly and I can tell that they really like dogs. Sue greets Bella at the door every time I bring her there and she has all kinds of cute nicknames for her, too, which are adorable ("Bella Bella," "Mama," "Roo" because she sits like a kangaroo)! Sue also takes amazing photos of the dogs, and adds the funniest captions, that she puts on Instagram for us pet parents to ooh and aah over when looking at our babies. So upon calling K9 resorts, a staff member named Anna answered and seemed pretty quick in her cadence of her speech right off the bat. I explained I've never been there and would like some info. I asked her a few basic questions and she answered them but always saying I have and email for you with all this information. She spoke very quickly and I had to ask her to repeat some of the info. For time reference, we were on the phone maybe 3 minutes at this point. Last question i attempted to ask was in regards to animals having interaction with other animals there. She cut me off Again, and stated I have and email for you with all this information. My question is, how do you you know what I'm going to ask if i dont finish my sentence. She obviously did not want to be on the phone. I get it, they are busy and making good money with business, but these are not PETS, these are peoples family members and maybe, just maybe we like to hear a pleasant courteous voice on the phone for a few minutes to answer and ease some concerns about boarding our lil loved ones there. So much for personal touch these days i guess. Most of us work and cant get there to have a face to face so we call for info, and to be rudely redirected to a canned email with frequently asked questions, is about as impersonal as you can get. When I was looking for daycare for my dog, I visited many places but none were as amazing as K-9 resorts. The reception area is exceptionally clean and smells delicious, and the girls at the front desk I love lead to deal with. When you take a tour of the facility, there is nothing to hide. They open up all the rooms to you and you can see that the dogs have space, are under constant supervision, and are well taken care of. I couldn't imagine leaving my dog anywhere else. I have visited other places that were maybe five dollars cheaper, but the conditions were far inferior. I am happy to pay a little bit extra to know that my dog is well taken care of. This kennel is rated the best in the state for a reason. It was a bit pricey for my taste but definitely worth it. Last weekend I had an emergency where I had to put my dog in a kennel ASAP and the employee Anna was incredibly helpful and practically bent over backwards to make sure that she was able to help me and my dog. PHENOMENAL all the way around. My 71lb fur baby LOVES coming here for daycare and/or our 10 day vacations. We've been coming here for a number of years now and NEVER a single complaint. He's over the moon with excitement when being dropped him off and happy & exhausted when picked up. Be sure your dog is current with their vaccines or they can't roll with the others. We used the Madison NJ location. They were excellent and as only dog owners would understand leaving them with a stranger in a strange place was very hard for us, but the resort send me photos of the doggies upon request which made us feel so much better. They also respond promptly to my emails and were very nice. They also send them back home with instructions on what to expect from them the first few days and here they are sleeping like babies since they got home. I observed the staff's interaction during pick up and the dogs seem to love the staff. Before leaving the dogs we did a tour of the resort which they were happy to do and the place was immaculate and it did not smell at all. At the end they also gave the doggies a bath. This is, by far and away, the very best of the best when you need to board your pet. My little shih tzu is not socialized and very clingy. He is only boarded when absolutely necessary. The staff went above and beyond to make sure he was attended to and taken care of. They are so warm and loving that I felt at ease leaving him there. Well, as much at ease as I could! I am not the type to write a bad review. I will admit I am trying to write a balanced review, but will preface this by saying I will no longer be bringing my dog to K9 Resorts. Upon my initial call to inquire about doggie daycare, I was given a slew of information from a very enthusiastic receptionist (I will not be giving specific names). She was helpful and accommodating when it came to having to drop off my dog earlier than the preferred time for an initial visit. Due to my boyfriend and my crazy schedule, the second, third and fourth time we dropped him off for daycare we unfortunately had to ask them to keep our dog overnight since pickup is 7pm, and they don't accommodate late pickup even for an additional charge. While the first two times they were accommodating, the third was not as well received. I will say we paid full price for everything so it wasn't as if we asking for more than any other boarding client, it was just on shorter notice. Essentially I was scolded for having to ask them to hang on to him overnight and I was "3 for 3" and when they are "filled to the gills in the summer" I couldn't "pull this." We are a young couple who works long hours to have enough money to make sure that we can have our dog in a safe place when we are away. Being talked down to about not being able to pick him up didn't make me feel any better about leaving him in their care. After that last reception, we have decided to not bring our dog back to their facilities and will be trying out another business in the area. If you are an owner who can live your life within their tight rules and can pay for their additional costs (such as a bath is required or multiple nights in boarding, at full cost to you and having to pay to have your dog eat food you bring) then by all means try them out. My dog never came home harmed, upset or sick, but my personal experience with their staff left a memorable impact on my opinion of their company. read more

I've left my fur baby here several times and have been very happy with the care. Having looked at several boarding options in the area, this is absolutely the cleanest place around--it even smells fresh and clean. The staff is very warm and welcoming. For me, the only drawbacks are the limited times to drop-off and pick up your dog, the fact that the dogs are unsupervised at night, and that you aren't allowed to provide any soft comforts from home, ie. blankets, toys, clothing that smells like the owners. Even though I love it here, these issues have me exploring other options. read more

Love this place!! I used a different Fairfield boarding facility two times last year but BOTH times my dog came home sick with large vet bills so we decided to go visit K-9 for a tour. We loved it. It smells so clean and everyone who works there is in uniforms and are extremely professional. The dog areas are very large and they have outdoor play areas as well. My dog came home after an 8 day stay and he was cleaned (it was complimentary) and he did not get sick. I met the owner twice and he was so nice and professional. Everything is state of the art. You can even have a TV in your dog's sleeping space. Worth every penny. read more

I would love to thank everyone at k-9 for making our first boarding experience wonderful!!!!!!! I was naturally a panicky mother because we never left my boy with anyone but family, but their excellent care and love for the pups made me feel so much more at ease. What a place K9 Resorts in Fairfield NJ Is!!!! Recently for the 1st time ever I needed the services of doggie day and boarding for my German Shepherd Beauregard. From the moment I walked in K9 Resorts I knew this was the place for Beau. The facility was Very Very Clean. With comfortable temperature throughout the facility I was greeted by a very nice woman named Star. She gave a tour and answered my questions Put me at ease about boarding Beau. I reserved the luxury all inclusive for my Beau. And I made the appointment to have Beau evaluated to see how he'd be with the other dogs and to see with which group he should be placed in. And to get him acclimated to the room where he was going to be staying in during his boarding. He was there a couple of hours. I believe he enjoyed K9 Resorts very much. The next day I brought him back. I know he enjoyed him self. When I pulled up in front of the facility . He was so excited jumping to get out of my truck and pulled me to get into the facility. I was very happy to know that he was happy being at K9 resorts made me feel comfortable leaving him Following day was the actual boarding day and I checked Beau And I was assured he'd be fine. A couple hours later I called to see how he was doing and Andy said he was doing great Well I picked him up yesterday from K9 resorts and Beauregard came out happy I was happy he was happy and he smelled great they gave them a bath just before I checked him out I am so pleased with canine resorts and their staff I highly recommend this place and I will definitely use them again read more
