This is our go to Saturday ride to Amish Country. I can't believe this is my second week in a row…read more You get there and you add your name to the list and step back, or go outside and wait. It's packed but do not get impatient, they have this down to a science and you are usually called within 20-30 minutes or less. It depends on the line. The food is tasty, very delicious. The pies... yum o'lala. Clean, everyone is kind. Oh and the Amish families eat there, so you know it has to be good. Our guest ate from the Buffett, we eat from the menu.

I would argue that this is very good down-home cooking! There was a lot of people who came at once…read morebut they have plenty of seating so there wasn't really a wait. There's a buffet or menu items to choose from. We got the buffet. Full salad bar with fresh ingredients, local cheese. Cold salads like macaroni and broccoli. The croutons were good, crunchy but not break your teeth and they had a variety of breads they used. Fresh bacon pieces. The hot foods bar had: -fried chicken (VERY good, highly recommend) -cabbage casserole (little too cheesy for me) -corn (very very sweet, interesting) -noodles (YUM!!!) -dressing (what they call stuffing, it was good) -bbq ribs (fall of the bone but I thought the sauce could be better, have more flavor) -green beans (basic, would be better with seasoning/butter) -mashed potatoes and gravy (yum!) We had good service and overall the buffet was a better deal than ordering something off the menu, especially if you wanted to try a couple different things. It was a good way to get a wide variety of items. Lemonade was very fresh

BF and I were trying to do everything Amish and local for our Valentine's weekend in Dresden, OH…read moreand we picked this place based on their really nice website. Gotta say, the website was much more impressive than the actual place. This wasn't too far of a drive from Dresden Inn but coming back, we got turned around because of the lack of lights, signage and skinny roads. They have plenty of parking and the string of lights outside was cute. I asked the waitress TWO times whether the sweet potato fries for the sandwich entree was extra and she confirmed TWICE that it was not an extra cost. Welp, upon paying, guess what? It was $4 extra! Just look at my picture to see that like 12 skinny AF fries are NOT worth the extra charge! Their house chips were great. I ordered the brie & jam sandwich and it was filling and delicious. I also ordered a crispy chicken salad and was pretty disappointed at the quality. I abhor cheese shavings on salad (they don't belong on salads!) and there was just mounds of very processed looking cheese. There was not enough chicken pieces for the price, too many croutons, no onion or enough tomato; just cheap lettuce. They don't serve regular glasses of water here. It was all crushed ice! We suspected they were just pre-wine slushies! This was really odd. There's not real wait service but since we sat upstairs, people needed to bring stuff up so I did tip a usual amount. I wanted to experience more of a country, made from scratch type of setting so was not too happy with the very Chilis/Applebee quality and presentation of their food.

I had high hopes for Killing Tree Winery, but was left underwhelmed. The countryside setting is…read moreundeniably beautiful, yet the experience didn't match the view. When I arrived, they were out of nearly a dozen wines--never a good start at a winery. Service felt impersonal and cafeteria-style: you circle your selections, and that's about it. There was little to no description or engagement about the wines themselves, which all tasted fairly ordinary and forgettable. Adding to the disappointment, the main entrance featured a strip of fly tape covered in dead flies--something I've never encountered at a food or drink establishment, and frankly, not the best first impression. There's definite potential here, but at the moment, the experience feels unpolished and uninspired. I genuinely hope they improve, but for now, I can't recommend a visit.
