So the lodge is beautiful and the view from the dining room is very nice, but the food is only decent. We had the crab mac and cheese, fetuccini Alfredo, and a specialty dish. All were more creamy than cheesy, with little crab meat or pulled pork. If you are looking for an appetizer, the cheese curds with marinara sauce was quite good. All the prices were high, as you might expect from a lodge attached restaurant with this location and view. read more

Stopped in last night and this afternoon for dinner and lunch, respectively. Very festively decorated! Truly appreciate it this Christmas time of year. My wife and I decided to get away for a few days and just enjoy the lodge. As so few people here Boxers Lounge is closed, but the dining room is open! Our dinner last night was fairly simple, fried green beans, and their 12 inch meat. Pizza with black olives added. Absolutely delicious! For lunch today we tried Simple as well. My wife decided on their lunch fried chicken tenderloins with waffle fries, and I their Cobb salad. The Cobb salad is mammoth! Not to mention delicious as well! The chicken tenderloins and waffle fries were delicious as well. Five rather large pieces and a heaping helping of waffle fries! Lisa took care of us last night and Lois this afternoon. Both did a wonderful job, and we truly appreciated their efforts to make us comfortable! read more

3.5 stars. I have come for breakfast many times over the years while staying at the lodge. The food here is perfectly adequate and the prices are much better than Big City hotels but service tends to be glacial. I think the employees are hard-working but it's consistently understaffed. They should maybe consider leaving a pot of coffee at the table with service constraints. Absolutely beautiful views. By far the easiest choice if you are staying at the lodge just allow adequate time. read more

Well, there aren't a whole bunch of options for local dining if you stay at the Mohican Lodge. Fortunately the on-site Restaurant is solid. The menu is simple, but it was well executed, definitely try the General Tao's Cauliflower. The friendly staff will make your night. Great view! read more

My family has been coming to the lodge for years, and we always eat in the dining room after a fun day of hiking or canoeing in the park. It has always been something we look forward to, but this time we were really disappointed in the food at Bromfield's. The menu has changed quite a bit. We were not at all impressed by the service either. There were 6 of us dining and none of us were happy with our meals. When the bill came, there were several extra charges that we had not been warned of, nor expected. I had a sandwich (which clearly stated on the menu included soup as a side dish option) and was charged an extra 50 cents for my soup. My brother ordered sour cream on his chili and it came out with cheddar on it, and for an extra charge, also not noted by our waiter. My mom and my uncle ordered baked potatoes as one of their side items, they came out with cheese and bacon and an extra charge of 99 cents each for a "loaded" potato. Neither of them wanted a loaded potato. Our waiter was definitely not at all about customer service. We had to ask repeatedly for water refills, he didn't tell us of up charges, and the service was very slow (which may not have been his fault). As for the food, it was not very good. I had the Traveler's sandwich and my entire meal was lukewarm when it was served. Two at our table had cod, and although they ordered exactly the same thing both plates had different portion sizes. We definitely will not be back to Bromfield's next time we visit Mohican. read more

We spent a weekend in Mohican State Park and enjoyed dinner at Bromfield's each night, after we were all ready to enjoy a hot meal after all the hiking and wonderful fresh air. Our first night was five star; really wonderful. Our server was absolutely fantastic! She went above and beyond with customer service and really made us feel welcome. When I inquired about a food allergy in our group, she brought out the chef's master notes to help with questions and ordering. Everyone enjoyed their meals, which included: the Bromfield Burger and BBQ pork sandwich with fries, the grilled chicken sandwich sans bun with cole slaw (for gluten free), and the kid's macaroni and cheese with fruit cup and popsicle. The server also chatted with us about some suggestions of what we should see and do, since it was our first visit. Our second evening was a more average meal. The food was good, but service was a little slower and less attentive. Our meals that night included: the warm pretzel appetizer, a bowl of Mohican Country Chili with all the fixings, a chicken caesar salad, a bbq pork sandwich sans bun with a fruit cup (gluten free), and the kid's grilled cheese sandwich with fruit cup and popsicle. Overall, I would say this is a nice place to grab a bite! The views are certainly nice too! read more

We enjoy eating here every time we stay at Mohican. Good food, friendly staff, and a wonderful dining room that looks out over the lake. (It also features the warmest fireplace I've ever experienced.) A dinner and breakfast there last week were both great. (The coffee could use an upgrade, though that is common at most of the state lodges.) It's a perfect choice if you're staying there and a good one if you're in the area, too. read more

Beautiful setting, finishes are quite dated. Food is very average at best I had a good hamburger and a so so iceberg lettuce salad. Keep things simple as the fancier items on the menu really are below average. It could be the time of day but our servers were not very pleasant in the mid afternoon. read more

A quiet night at the lodge as we were the only diners around for the first half of our meal. We had the stuffed mushrooms with curry mayonnaise which was really good. My husband had the pork medallions which were excellent...very tender. The onion demi glacé was very tasty. The mashed sweet potatoes were delicious. We each had broccoli with wild mushrooms which was cooked just right not too hard and not soggy. My pork chop was perfect and I really enjoyed the red cabbage. The apples were like dessert thought we went ahead and got cheesecake tooour seat by the fireplace was perfect on a winter night. We will definitely be back. read more

This is such a beautiful restaurant and has an amazing view, and seems like it has a lot of "potential" but my goodness my sons cheeseburger was served RAW and the floors and windows were noticeably dirty. Hardly anyone was there on a Saturday night during peak season. Needs some TLC and management that's cares about keeping our state parks a go to destination. Disappointed this visit....waitress was the highlight. Very friendly and genuinely upset about our food being undercooked. read more
