AMAZING FOOD! It was my first visit and I wasn't sure what to expect but OMG it was pleasantly surprised!! It's in the middle of no where and I was not so sure pulling up. When entering I noticed it was giving me really small. I was greeted with a smile and seated right away. I was told this doesn't always happen so make a reservation in the future. Anyway, the ambiance as really nice and welcoming. I immediately began to feel relaxed. I ordered the perch with green beans and sweet potato fries. The fish was fresh and delicious. The batter was light allowing you to experience the freshness of the fish. Let me say that I am from now on spoiled with the seasoned butter the comes with the sweet potato fries! I was a little bit of heaven in a a cup. Our server was top notch and very knowledgeable answering all of our questions. She was so polite even offered to take a picture of my sister and I. Needless to say, we have already made plans to go back again! I'm looking forward to spending time on the patio I was told about.

They have a great Perch sandwich here, and the staff is super friendly and hard-working. They also have a couple of really nice patios. The place is tucked away in a wooded setting off the beaten path, but surprisingly close to I-71.

Service was good. Had ribeye (flat grilled) was just ok, French onion soup was good, fried fish was ok, but pretty greasy. Sat on patio with Great atmosphere. Great local beer. Menus could use some extra detail

This restaurant has an amazing chef who takes great pride in her ability to accommodate food allergies when needed, and no advance notice needed. Our food was great, large portions, and arrived in a timely manner. The wait staff waa friendly and personable. Dining rooms and restrooms were clean enough. We will be back! It is worth visiting!

There are relatively few dining options in Mansfield Ohio on a Sunday, thankfully Hudson and Essex is one that is available! We arrived without Reservations and seated in the dining room. We usually prefer the bar; however, as it was Sunday dinner, we wanted to be more proper. On Sundays, they do offer a dinner menu and a Sunday dinner menu. Their Sunday dinner menu is very good! We've had offerings on it before and have never been disappointed. This time we did decide to order off the regular menu. After ordering a round of cocktails to start with, we ordered a jalapeño flatbread appetizer special to start. Must say that that flatbread was extremely delicious and hot! The jalapeño slices could've been deveined and deseeded to tame the heat a little. For our main courses, I ordered their Caesar salad with blackened chicken, my wife their small filet, and mom their pierogi appetizer. Our meals came out well presented and delicious! It was the first time I've ever had their Caesar salad and I enjoyed it immensely. My wife always enjoys their steak and my mom raved about the pierogies. No formal desserts were ordered; however, I ordered a last word, which was delicious! Alec really is a great bartender and can make just about anything! All in all, another well done dinner at Mansfield's best restaurant!

My home TR is Ashland, Ky with Marysville, Oh and Polaris, Oh, closely behind. This time it worked out better to try the Mansfield location and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely packed when we got there at 11:45am. They told us it could be a 20+ minute wait but actually seated us and the entire waiting area within 5-7 minutes. We could hear the great country music and enjoy the birthday singing but still hear each other talking because the noise level was kept in check. We ordered an appetizer and it arrived within a few minutes of our drinks. The rest of the meal came out just as we finished each serving. All of our steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection. The waitress had a table of 12 and a table of 8 in our area by herself, yet she made our table of 5 seem like the only table she had. She did that with the other tables too. I would definitely make a point to stop in Texas Roadhouse if you are in the mood for a delicious steak. The time before this that we we fees there, my husband got the salmon and it was delicious, too. If you like fish, this is also a great place for salmon.

It's like she would run away pretending they were busy becuase she knew there were issues . Bartender was good. About 4 other people eating at this time. About 6 other people at bar drinking . So bartender can handle 6+4 and all happy but kitchen, host, and server staff can't handle 9 people eating at once ? Kinda hard to run a restaurant like that. Maybe should try being a bar. Got 3 steaks all ordered medium . One was medium , one was well done, one was just burnt . The wagyu sushi was the most overcooked meat I have ever eaten. Was in Japan less than month ago and ate wagyu every day ; this was not Wagyu . Was not sushi . Was just scrap burnt meat piled in seaweed. This is not maki. The table was not set . For the pricing , I would expect the table to be set . Drinks were wrong and never refilled in a two hour dinner . This is a random small town, but based on pricing you'd see in Boston, Atlanta, New York - it is not the quality they are asking for . Especially not the service . Every menu item didn't match the descriptions Plating was well done , thats about the only compliment . Place is tacky inside , stairs to go to bathroom, weird temu valet light spinning at host stand , weird Star Wars stuff and other weird stuff mixed into decor . Kitchen looks angry , stares at you when you walk by Fish overcooked and dry McDonald's level cooking execution of what seem to be well made recipes , plated like fine dining , and in the setting of a dive bar , and prices of Morton's , and the taste worst than any restaurant I've eaten at on a 30 day road trip including chain restaurants . Need new FOH and BOH manager , and all new kitchen staff, need to redo decor and pick a theme, need to fix menus to match dishes , and get new servers . I mean that leaves almost nothing work keeping except the dishes , the presentation , and the bartender that were actually good and worth keeping

Super cute, clean, has a nice case that offers a large variety of cuts. We like that the meat is locally sourced. We like how friendly the staff is. Usually the meat we get is excellent. However, the last trip wasn't perfect. we came up on June 2nd, purchased two large racks of beef ribs, 9 pounds of pork butt, 6 bacon burgers. and some beyond spicy jerky. Total cost 191.14. Kind of felt that was a bit high tbo but this was my husbands order so i just stood there observing. Now I expect some fat on ribs. When the man that handled our order he said "i took off some (meat) off the top before you came. Here they are". I thought.. "thats weird. Why would u trim off meat." But again said nothing. We will get to that in a bit.... We get home. Cooked the six bacon burgers which were crazy good. They grind bacon into the beef and form a patty for you. They were very nice. Would drive up get again. My son next cracks open the jerky. Spicy is an understatement. Its super duper crazy spicy. Now, I like spicy, so does half my family. Fair warning this may of been the spiciest Ive ever had. It was right at the edge of ohhhh this might be too spicy, but didn't quite cross that line. Make sure you like spicy. It was good. I think they make it themselves. Thats a plus in our eyes. But half the family wouldn't eat it -it was that spicy. Lol. (Whimps) The next night we have our BBQ. The pork was good. Nice marbling. Smoked up nicely but for this cut alone it wasn't really worth the miles and time up there as the price of it was a bit high. Now to the ribs.... This was the item that we were driving an hour to get. All the rest were add ons. These were to be the main feature of our BBQ. Total disappointment. Not sure what was trimmed off before we got there, but it must of been most of the meat... As what we went home with was almost mostly fat and bone The ribs also were what cost the most and wow... I am shocked that they sold us those and even more shocked my husband (who is a great BBQ guy) weirdly accepted them. My point with this review is, as a customer--check your slabs of ribs. If they are fatty... and your gut say too fatty-- speak up! as this shop usually sends you home with perfect meat. Im sure there are more in the back and if Im sure they are great at suggesting a plan B. This time they missed the mark with us, but again, I have faith that if we ever go back it should be a better experience, as the other two experiences were amazing. I want to emphasize-- This isnt a place that should be skipped cuz of the rib issue. There is always a line in the shop.its a good place. However, I would recommend as a customer--check the cuts that are presented without worrying about offending the clerk if you feel the meat needs to be swapped out - if you feel its fatty or not a great cut for price, advocate for your own purchase. I feel the rib disappointment was as much our fault for not advocating as theirs for presenting that flawed slab. Sometimes you just make a mistake. We both did that day. I know we will be back for the burgers. Those were crazy good. I dont even like hamburger and I really liked the flavor of them.

I started off with their barrel aged Manhattan, while my mom ordered a spiced pineapple margarita, and my wife a glass of wine. We seat at the bar for two reasons, the primary being our ability to kibitz with Ryan and others plus the fact that their specialty cocktails/bar appetizers are half off from opening till 7 PM! There was a cheese and crab dip, hot appetizer special that we ordered before our meals. It was really a rather large and delicious portion with five slices of grilled bread. Could've used a little bit more grilled bread, but we made it last. For meals, I ordered their Caesar salad, adding blackened salmon. Though salmon is not on the menu as an option. It is available if you ask. My wife and mom both ordered their small filet mignon. Our meals came out after a reasonable time and were extremely well presented and delicious!
