I had selected this company to close my pool for the upcoming winter. Unfortunately I did not read the reviews on how terrible the experience would be. First issue was the fact the guys showed up to my residence unannounced and enters the backyard without my permission. They then proceed to install the plugs in the return lines when I observed a plug laying in the bottom of the pool. one of the workers had just left it there and did not say anything hoping I wouldn't notice. Once I told one of the works he yelled at the younger worker for not saying anything bout the plug. very unprofessional. Being a first time pool owner I had many questions on how things worked with closing the pool for the winter as well as reopening it for the summer. I kindly asked the workers some questions which they absolutely ignored me and left the property in a hurry. As a costumer paying a ridiculous amount of money to empty out some pool lines, install plugs and adding a chemical, it would be common courtesy to answer some questions and concerns the costumer has. To the future costumers, please read this and other reviews and do your HW before using this company. To the company, the staff I talked to in the store seem to know what they were doing, to the actually workers in the field, you may have to sit them down and talk to them about how to complete and conduct their work. read more

CUSTOMER SERVICE at it's finest. Being new to an inground pool this past year I was a bit overwhelmed and intimidated about the care for such a beast. All for no reason. The employees of Roundbird Pools are all trained well and highly knowledgeable about their profession. They are the most customer service oriented store I have ever been to. Not being knowledgeable about pools myself, I followed their directions (which were specific and well explained) and our families pool was as clear and carefree as only my dreams could have imagined. The prices are reasonable, there is free water testing and instruction as to what chemicals you need. They advise you on their products and how to buy so the season is low in cost as can be. All in all, I looked forward to my visits at Roundbird as they were the least stress times of my summer months. read more

I worked with roundbird pools to changed my pool liner and I would not recommend them to anyone. They are the most unprofessional service I have worked with, and have nonexistent communication skills. They actually didn't show up on their scheduled date when they were supposed to install the liner. We called and called and no one would get back to us. We had to wait 2-3 weeks after their scheduled date to finally have someone get back to us to let us know that there was a delay. Delays are understandable but it would have been nice to know about the delay prior to the scheduled date. After they finally installed the liner, they did such a bad job with it and installed it with 10 LARGE wrinkles. They said they would come back to fix the wrinkles and scheduled a time to. Again, they never showed up at their scheduled time. Communication skills would have been nice here because we made sure we were off work and waited for them but they clearly they don't value their customer's time. When we called they said that they came at a different time than the time they told us (when we weren't home) and that they evaluated it's not possible to fix the the wrinkles. Additionally, they didn't clean up after themselves. They left the old liner in my backyard, the packaging of the new liner, and they also left some nails on the ground around the pool/skimmer. Awful! They opened my pool and I waited 5 weeks to have a small pipe replaced to the filter. Can't run my filter, pool is green and loaded with mosquito larvae. Showed up 45 mins late after 5 weeks and still didn't repair it properly . Rushed caused they wanted to get home, it was after 6 pm. When I said skimmer sucking in air he said that's normal and wait for the caulking to dry. Call tomorrow if still not working correctly. Well, next day , same issue! Still leaking lots water! And can't get anyone on the phone! Leaving a message with the other person is a joke, when they do answer. ! No one ever returns calls! What is with these pool companies!!! And I paid them immediately when they opened me! Thinking of getting a pool. All these companies will promise you the moon! Good luck in trying to find a honest one. read more

Roundbird came to open my pool. They took the cover off, threw some chemicals in and "removed" plugs. They told me my pump was broke. I called the next day to discuss getting a new pump. The woman said someone would call me back. it's been almost 2 weeks, no one has called. Had another pool company come over to inform me that 2 plugs were left in. How do I start this? Maybe with "buyer beware"? Deposit 08/2020. They went radio silent until April of 2021. The first of so many red flags along the way. On 4/17/21 they dug my pool. On 4/25/21 they put the pool walls up (without the turnbuckles). On 5/14/21 they ran the bonding wire and electrical conduit for the pool light. This would start a string of events of 1-3 guys coming to my house for 2-3 hours at a time maybe once or twice a week if I was lucky. I would not be exaggerating if I said they were at my house less than 8 hours in week for at least the next 6-8 weeks. It was very painful to watch. On 5/30/21, they finally admit they are missing the turnbuckle. Once they finally get them, we think we are getting somewhere. Someone came to level the pool and their equipment was broken... man, we can't catch a break. They do apparently get it working and supposedly level the pool (it wasn't). Footer comes next, but wait... there is supposed to be a pre-footer inspection. It was never done. Seems like a red flag. Footer is poured and I raise concerns about the pool walls being out of plumb. The answer I got was "don't worry, we can fix that with the turnbuckles and it will look perfect. On 6/11/21 they back-filled the pool. I can say at this point in the build, we were already 12 weeks into a pool that was supposed to take 8 weeks and we are nowhere close to finishing and we are losing patience. We have 4 kids and really wanted to get them swimming. We planned two at home vacations to use this pool and it was starting to seem like we never would get swimming. I had a meeting with both the owner Jay and Melisa shortly after 6/11/21 and raised concerns about the pool walls that were not plumb (like 2" out of plumb) and also that I was not happy about the timing of things and it was looking like an 8 week project was going to take at least 16 weeks. They both told me they understood and they went about their business. They both reassured me this pool would look perfect when we were all done. Another red flag and no admission of wrong doing or poor craftsmanship. How are they going to fix this pool wall that is 2" out of plumb and another pool wall 1" out of plumb? You can't get to the turnbuckles once the pool is back-filled. Still showing up 1 or 2 times a week for a few hours at a time. Not understanding we need this done. Very frustrated at this point. Finally got someone and this is when the onion really started to peel back. These are just the major issues my 2nd (and 3rd) opinion gave me: 1. baseline minimum for a new pool is "level and plumb"! Anything outside 1/8" out of level or plumb is NOT acceptable. I have 12' of wall out by 2" of plumb and another 12' of wall out by 1". 2. Flex pipe should NEVER be used underground 3. Equipment pad is not balanced, heater too close to house, not the right pumps 4. Coping is going to pop off, because it dips towards the pool How do you fix the walls? Clearly we can't go further before the plumbing is redone. They admitted at this point, their normal digger isn't who dug my pool and messed it up. Thus they ran flex pipe instead of all the hard pipe (that was sitting at my house the whole time) because they didn't build the pool correctly (or were lazy). At this point, into late July and we have come full stop. Takes until mid-August for me to agree with owner to give me a good portion of money back and walk away. It sucks to end this way and Roundbird never admitted wrongdoing, but if they're returning any money, they know they messed up. We were excited to have a pool for the summer of 2021, but now we have a huge hole in the backyard and can only hope to have a pool in summer of 2023. We have since hired a new company, done our homework and have hired a 2nd company to make sure this 2nd build goes as it should. We feel fortunate to get out of this the way we did because we had a lot of money in this. We didn't get all our money back, but a good enough portion to just tell them to "never come back". A Round bird pools crew mistakenly came to close a pool. They entered without permission and began to close my pool. When they realized they were at the wrong address they just left. I called the company and was told oh well mistakes happen. I never contacted this company . They just showed up and left a mess. Horrible customer service!! read more

Absolutely the worst company I have ever used! My pool is caving in. The liner is stretched out. There is no pressure coming from the buddy seat. We paid them the do the grade and drainage plan. They never followed it. Now they want us to pay for a second drainage/ grading plan when they never followed the first one. We believe the pipe is cracked from their employee aggressively tamping crushed concrete. Water is draining right into my basement. They are leaving us with a lot of damage. Took our money and ran. This goes right on top as one of the places I would not recommend. I was not going to open my pool this year because my husband passed but I did need a new cover. I contacted Roundbird in February so as to avoid the summer rush. They (Joanne) gave me a quote in March at which time I gave a deposit. Time passed the next thing I know its May and still no pool cover so I contacted Roundbird, they said they needed additional measurements and someone would be there the next day. no one showed up or returned any of my calls. After several weeks or waiting I cancelled the cover and they did return my deposit. It was obvious to me I was never going to get that cover. I waited a while and called and talked with Joanne again. I decided to open the pool, have them help with weekly maintenance and go back to having them make the cover. She said they could do it that week, all she had to do was work up a quote and would call me back. Needless to say, no call back. I again left messages and waited for someone to get back to me, no one. The last message I left was could they just open the pool for me. Nothing. Joanne was very nice on the phone but unfortunately she seemed to just be having a little fun with me. (or making a total ass of me whichever you prefer) I called this week to see if they were coming to open the pool and got another female. I forget her name but she was totally ignorant, talking loud and fast, telling me that weekly maintenance was full in February and they would not help me get up and running at all. She said the only thing they were responsible for was returning my deposit for the cover and they did that. What I was asking for had nothing to do with the cover and everyone understood about my decision to cancel the cover after 4 months. Everything was the direct opposite of what Joanne had told me. When I said I would not deal with that company any longer (we've dealt with them for years) she said good. Now I'm stuck with a pool that's still closed, is green and having no idea what to do with it mostly because I wasted so much time believing they would help me. That's all I was asking for is help, and I had no problem paying for it. We have been using this place for a few years for a pool service. Recently we had a leak in our filter, so called to schedule service. The person we spoke to diagnosed the problem on the phone and told us exactly what part we needed to solve the problem (multi valve port). He Researched our model number and said that he would put one aside, and we could come in later that day to pick it up and save us a service call. We picked up the parts, installed it ourselves, and saved a lot of money by avoiding a service call. I thought it was so honest of them to try to diagnose it on the phone and not try to take advantage of us. We will continue to be using them for all our pool service needs. read more

I have owned my pool for over 20 yrs and always dealt with Discount Pools in Deptford NJ, unfortunately they went out of business a few years ago and I was in search of a new pool store. I came across round bird pools in Berlin and they seem to fit the bill because I use a certain kind of chemicals and they carry them so worked out well until we needed a pool repair. My husband I went in spoke to one of the women in the back and she put us a price told us what the repair was going to be and said she would take a deposit and order the pool liner . So we left the deposit for half of the job and she said the liner would be in that week and she would call us back to set up a date to have the repair done. Two weeks went by never heard from anybody four weeks went by again didn't hear from anybody, I happened to run into one of the women that works there in my local ShopRite and when I question her she said that she would take care of it and she told me that the girl would call me at the end of the day to let me know what was going on I told her nobody ever returns my phone calls I've called on more than one occasion I've gotten names gave them information and nobody has ever responded ever! So I went home that night to await the phone call that did not come . The next day one of the women called and told me that the liner was in but they were now waiting for the other part and they didn't know when that was going to be in? Why they didn't order them both at the same time I don't understand. I waited another week nobody called so then I called them again and they told me that they would have to set up a day to schedule my appointments. I made it very clear at that time that I was not happy with the way they were treating us as far as lack of communication we understand the situation of what's going on with the whole pandemic and we're willing to work with them we just needed to know what the status was of our repair communication, I couldn't stress it enough. They finally called told me they could set it up it would take 3 days Monday Tuesday and Wednesday we said okay and since I was already off Monday and Tuesday my husband took off Wednesday from work. So they came Monday and started the repair return Tuesday to put the liner back in and we're supposed to come out Wednesday to cut out the liner so that we could put the filter back in. They did not come out Wednesday at about 4:30 I called over to ask him when the person was coming and I was told he wasn't coming that day. I told the woman that my husband took the day off because we were told it was going to take three days. She told me to hold then came back and told me she didn't know what happened they weren't coming out to the following day I was a little upset because my husband took the day off of work lost a day's pay and they didn't seem to care again I stated if you would have communicated with us to let us know you weren't coming Wednesday we wouldn't have had to rearrange our schedule take the day off lose the days pay and she said she didn't know what to tell me. My husband went and the remainder of the money left on the repair and let the woman know that he wasn't really happy with the way they did the job and showed her pictures no response nothing she said she really didn't have anything to do with that and she didn't know what it was supposed to look like. If you're running a business and you're taking thousands of dollars from people don't you think you should know what the job supposed to look like when it's completed? So I would say it's a good place to get chemicals but if you want to repair done go somewhere else because they do not communicate or return phone calls in any type of timely manner. read more

I was so nervous about what I thought would be a very expensive luxury. I shopped around and once I met Charlie I immediately went with his company. Charlie, was dependable and honest. His crew was respectful and professional. Every time I called Charlie, he answered (or called me back). I can't say enough positive things about them! Even if you are curious about an inground pool, give him a call. He absolutely does not pressure into making a decision. He walks you through the process!! Stay Away! It's rare that I provide feedback to any company at all, but the horrendous experience I had with Roundbird compels me to warn prospective customers. I hired Roundbird to install a heater for my pool. I contracted the electrician thru Roundbird too. The electrician blundered by covering up the gas port, making the heater obsolete because the gas could not be hooked up. He returned, but made further mistakes. These things happen in life, but the most frustrating part was that Roundbird's staff is overloaded- phone calls are often not returned and/or key staff not available- after 3 months of frustration and exasperation, with exhaustive efforts to rectify this matter- phone calls, email, etc. I finally hired other personnel on my own to fix the problem. To illustrate that this was not an isolated incident, I'll point out that along with the heater installation I hired Roundbird to open my pool. The service was horrible (the staff did minimal work and left the pool deck a mess). Furthermore, the staff said my pump was broken, and a new one would cost nearly $1,000. I'm not a handy guy, but I was able to fairly easily identify the problem (the filter timer was not in the "on" position) and avoid a $1,000 repair that would have been totally unnecessary. STAY AWAY and avoid frustration and unnecessary expenses. read more
