Three words for you: Veggie Gourmet Pizza! This is my absolute favorite pizza of all time. I can be in an anti-pizza mood, but will still scarf down 4 slices of the Veggie Gourmet. It's a little on the pricey side for pizza (I usually pay about $25 for an extra large, but it's well worth it. Coupons-- never leave home without 'em). The staff at this location have always been friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself has that authentic Round Table Pizza feel: you know, that dark, medieval vibe that all the Round Tables have (or had... I'm sure they've updated some locations). This place has two things going for it, great pizza, and great employees. I am a regular customer here. I have been coming almost every week for a year or more. I have always been a fan of Round Table. I personally think they have the best tasting pizza of any chain. I also like the catchy names the have for the different combos and if you use coupons the price is fair. The employees are always friendly. More so now that most of them recognize me when I come in the door. More often than not, I am offered a drink (free of charge) while waiting for my to go order. I have never had a problem with my order and if I ever did I am sure they would do whatever it takes to make it right. They have some retro games here as well, lots of TV's, a salad bar (that I have never tried) and beer. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the location decor is a bit dated and well worn. Really like this place. Great staff, one of the employees, Massoud came out to my table and asked how my pasta plate was, asking if he could get me anything else. The Garlic twists are so good. The lunch deal of all you can eat salad and pizza for $7.99 is a super good value. Where else can you get a meal like that with refillable drinks included. Nice atmosphere with a side room for groups, round table with built in fire place for cold winter nights, and several arcade games throughout. Pizza was delicious it stayed hot the whole time I was wating, best of all it had a little crisp to it which give it a little crunch good job. The wings were good as well, but could've been cooked a little longer. If I order from there again I'll ask for them to be well done. I've been here a few times for their lunch special. My son likes this place because his Nonna brings him here. We met Isabella B here for lunch, a date he set up himself! They call it a "buffet." It's pretty much a stretch to use that word. The salad bar is lacking any freshness. If you're a fan of wilted lettuce, by all means, this is your spot. There is not much here by way of choice in the toppings either. Forget about any decent dressing options. It's not happening. They had maybe 5 or 6 vegetables and something that could have been potato salad, but don't quote me on that. There was also garlic knots and three pizza choices. That was it. They never changed out the pizzas. You read that right. We were there for two hours and those pizzas sat there for those two hours. I tried a slice. That was it for me. I was not impressed at all. The pizza looked and tasted like it had been sitting there for hours, and to be honest, I'm pretty sure it had. The quasi buffet also includes a beverage. They don't have iced tea though, it's just fountain drinks. Interestingly enough their napkin dispensers advertise the buffet price as $6.99 for lunch, but they charge $7.99. Guess they never bothered to change that, much like they never went around the dining area to clean all the dirty tables while we were there.. They do have video games though, including the old skool pac man. Lil dude hit me up for quarters so he could play with Izzy. Plus one star for the Midway Arcade games :-) read more

I called and placed an order for delivery and the gentleman on the phone asked if I had ever ordered with them before. When I told him this was my first time he said he wanted to make sure I had an amazing experience with them and I definitely did! My favorite pizza on the planet! I really wish they had a Round Table in El Cajon. The pizza is so tasty here. I've had vegetarian pizzas here (Guinevere gardens). I've gotten the gourmet garlic and veggie pizza with artichokes. The garlic veggie pizza has so much garlic in it that vampires move to another city it's so strong. Pepperoni pizza is so tasty. The sauce is so good here and zesty. Love the crust and everything. It's on the pricey side, but really who cares with a pizza this good? I have many fond memories of Round Table when I was younger, too. Playing songs on the juke box, sitting near the fire (it's a round fire surrounded by brick in the middle of the restaurant), playing video games (Asteroids, etc). Round Table Pizza was literally medieval on my ass. All-U-Can-Eat Lunchtime Pizza and Salad Bar! A loosely medieval theme! Walking distance from the office! I ended up eating two salads and a few plates of veggie pizza. The salad bar was pretty decent. The pizza was dry crappy buffet pizza that looked long past it's expiration date as it festered under the heat lamps. My theory is this. All-U-Can-Eat buffet's only work if lots of people are eating and the food stuffs are getting reborn non-stop. This place was not crowded and plus it was in La Mesa. I say it is in La Mesa as a problem for me because people in La Mesa tend to not eat their veggies enough and it shows. I witnessed person after person coming in and grabbing slices to go from under the heat lamps. Pepperoni and sausage were always taken as they got fresh pizzas placed under the lamps. The veggie just sat withering and drying out. Just how long have those slices been sitting there??? Anyhow, within an hour of sitting at my desk and my stomach started flopping about and gurgling. I ran to the bathroom and shot-out what only could be described as chum from my asshole. Yowza! I have been here for every soccer trophy, or softball trophy received. It used to be covered w/ pictures of teams, but now it's just the memories of the wall of fame. I've always been very fond of Round Table Pizza. In my opinion is the best and most quality of the pizza chains. This location in particular is awesome. The staff there is super friendly, they always make sure you have redpeppers, plates, etc. They always get your order right the first time and the time they quote you is the real time its ready to pick up. The food its self is also top notch. They aren't skimpy on the toppings at all, they PILE it on. You defintely get your money's worth at this place. The sauce is great and the crust is amazingly cooked perfect every time. The salad bar there is also great, they have actual veggies not just romaine lettuce and dressing. Having frequented this neighborhood very often since my RP group meets near here, I have always driven by, but never entered. Seeing as how I was awake for once, and that they always have the $7 pizza buffet banner out all the time, I figured I might as well go in with the misses. Parking was reasonable, as the lot was only half occupied. We were promptly served at the counter, and given one dish, one bowl, and one cup. We started by getting our drinks, and filling the small bowl with salad. Now the ingredients at the salad bar were good, but the potato salad appears to be the mass manufactured kind that one can get at Smart & Final, additionally unlike the lunch pizza buffet at Pizza Hut on Sweetwater Road, there was not a prepared Caesar salad. As for the pizza buffet, they only had two out. One was all pepperoni, the other was 1/4 Hawaiian, 1/4 all vegetables, 1/4 pepperoni and sausage, and 1/4 cheese only. Never through out the time that we were there, did the offerings change, even when a new pizza was brought out. Now the pizza slices that we had weren't bad mind you, and the ingredients were better than what you'd get at Pizza Hut, but the variety was lacking. Now normally when you go to a buffet it's mandated that you use a new plate every time you get new food. Well, this restaurant never supplied new plates or bowls or had them out for you to use upon getting new items. Is this a health code violation? I don't know, but if it is... Worse was the activity of the staff, especially the management group. We were there just after 1300, and at the time they were having their own lunch. It wouldn't be that bad, but the staff and management group that was there made it a point to get food from elsewhere. Worse, they were speaking loudly (so everyone present could hear) and negatively about some of the associates who had just left the restaurant. Additionally, the tables were not bused/cleaned promptly when people left, leaving their uneaten food and used dishes at the booths for extended periods of time. All in all, the quality of the ingredients were good (to be expected with Round Table), but the variety was poor, and the service was nonexistent. Avoid eating here, get what you want to go (and possibly expect to be talked about by the staff after you leave). read more

This is a way overdue 5-star review of a Round Table Pizza franchise outlet that deserves one. My girlfriend and I spent most of our wretched time in San Diego dirt poor. Anytime we got out to eat, which wasn't often at all, we'd consider Round Table--this particular outlet--at the top of our list. It's a nice outlet. Quiet. And the staff there, and the owner in particular, are aces. So often business owners are callous and indifferent, interested only in making money, and the public be damned. Not so with this owner. I'm not interested in offering details of his kindness, only that it was offered to us during a very horrible time; it was a kindness few others would even consider. We ate soon after at his establishment, which was the last time we went there, as soon after we moved out of the hell-hole that is San Diego. Good people are rare in this world. But they aren't extinct. They exist still, even against the horrendous odds against them. The owner of this particular outlet of Round Table is one such person. Even if you don't believe me, though, you should still go there and enjoy their pizza. It's good; the salad bar is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. read more

Mahmood (the owner) and his crew are the best! I will take this place hands down over any pizza joint in San Diego. Throw my super bowl party here every year. Large group area in back, LED flat screens throughout the restaurant with whatever you want to watch. Video games for the kids, I don't have or like kids. But oh well. Yes its priced higher then $10 crappy pizzas from their competition. But go online and find some coupons, and it wont be that bad. The garlic Parmesan twists are the bomb! If I could give negative 99 stars, I definitely would! My experience was this evening and I was so taken aback by my treatment I had to post as I'd like immediate action to take place. I spent almost $100 on 3 XL pies and made my way to pick them up. I was met with a very condescending and elitist worker who gave me the name of "Jorge" curbside. I asked for additional Parmesan cheese packs when he met me at my car and I was met with the response "that's a bit excessive.. maybe you should buy some next door at the store." Mind you I even tipped him for going to grab me more packets! I was fuming when I finally left after Jorge so graciously offered me 3 more packets. I immediately left your establishment and called to speak with the owner but was unsuccessful. The owner by the way has always shown me much more love in previous visits.. even given me complimentary drinks. Such a far cry from those other times. I have been a loyal customer for years; patron to the now closed Spring valley location as well as yours. But after this visit, I'm really considering never returning. Let me start out saying that growing up in San Diego, Round Table Pizza was a staple in my family. We have since moved away for awhile and have moved back into the neighborhood. We decided to give Round Table Pizza on La Mesa Blvd a try. We ordered 2 medium pizzas, 1 original crust and 1 thick crust, 12 wings and a large antipasto salad to go. We spent close to $60. The food looked amazing when we got it home. The wings were good and so was the salad. The garlic chicken pizza was also delish. Now it was a different story for a thick crust pizza . It was RAW!!!! Not just a little raw, but totally inedible. I quickly called around Table back and spoke to the manager and advised him of the problem. He only offered $5.00 off our pizza. He did not offer anything more, no remake, no free pizza nothing. I advised that the compensation he was offering was not acceptable and he replied that this was all that he could do. Round Table Pizza's policy for issues like this is ridiculous and unacceptable. Needless to say, this will be the last time we eat at Round Table Pizza. Shame Shame on you!!!!! read more

I was craving some Pizza and I usually go to Filippi's pizza grotto but I was in the area, so I dropped in and ordered the King Arthur which has almost everything on it. Took about 15 minutes. I've ordered Domino's, Pizza Hut and a few other Fast Food places and they all seem to "skimp" on toppings. Took it home and ate a few pieces and then found myself sneaking more later in the evening. I grew up on Round Table Pizza. It was "the" hangout at The Plaza in Rancho Bernardo. My family ate Round Table every other weekend, at least. Spicy sauce, lots of cheese... I dig this stuff. Tonight, between a late afternoon playdate, husband at a work function and my three-day-long craving for pizza it was Round Table for the toddler and I. Ordinary take-out order, nothing spectacular. Usual friendly service. I ordered a medium cheese and medium pepperoni. Get home, get my over tired toddler settled, only to see two pepperoni pizzas. My receipt read two medium pepperoni. Bugger... Here's where I felt compelled to write a review: I called and the apathetic girl passed me right to a manager who offered me a pizza in five minutes. When I lamented that this required getting my toddler in the car, driving there and back, he immediately got a driver on the phone, a pizza in the oven. He could hear my daughter saying, "But, momma... I wanted a pizza..." He apologized to my daughter. A really nice touch. Less than 15 minutes later, a fresh cheese pizza arrived at our door. The driver was smiling and friendly and there was a note on the box bearing apologies, too. If I'm going out for pizza, I'm heading to Lefty's or Bronx.
