Wanted a to go box for my salad that I couldn't finish but ate half of. (given I was on my lunch break) I wasn't trying to serve a fresh salad to go. But the staff told me no. Big waste of money even though I made it clear it was for what I was currently eating. Again, not a new plate! Since when can people not take home something they paid for??..... I asked if I'd be able to apply my loyalty points to my account when the problem is fixed she said yes and asked if I had a phone number registered. o was able to get my points by giving my phone number. I only picked up for this first visit, so I didn't get the full in-restaurant experience (which I plan to do in the future). But basically; the staff was nice, the restaurant seemed clean and appropriately dark (I love the ambience of most Round Table Pizza locations) and parking was easy. The entrance is a little weirdly tight when you first go in, but that's a minor issue. The Pizza we got (stuffed crust 3-topping large) was good and basically as-expected from a Round Table, although maybe a hair undercooked, but not enough to be a problem (just enough to notice). At least compared to other RTP's I've been to. Though the garlic parm twists were weirdly underwhelming. Usually these are a really nice soft bread with a good layering of the garlic and parm (almost like pesto on a pesto sandwich), but these had very little of the garlic butter/sauce and parmesan AND was super dry and hard. I ended up only eating two of them and tossing the rest (my wife doesn't like garlic sides but also couldn't eat them because they were so hard). I grew up eating Round Table and it's typically my favorite pizza and the meal I want when I'm craving comfort food or after returning home after a long trip. Our most recent visit was a bit of a roller coaster but unfortunately ended very poorly. We prefer to eat at the restaurant since we prefer our pizza hot and crispy so we called ahead and placed our order to eat at the restaurant when we arrived. Upon arrival, we grabbed our seat and the pizza came out soon after. So far so good. Sadly, the pizza tasted off, nothing near what we're accustomed to. It's hard to describe but the crust was overly dry and flavorless and no better than old cardboard. We gave up eating because the pizza just wasn't good. I mentioned this fact to the cashier when we got a to-go box, upon which she apologized and said that they didn't change their crust or anything so we left puzzled and disappointed. On our drive home, the manager actually called us (wow!). Now THAT is impressive customer service. He apologized, wanted to make it right, and asked for our address so he could send us a coupon for our next visit. As impressed as we were, that coupon never came. So as good as this experience almost was, it failed with a terrible pizza and an unkept promise to make it right. read more

SUPER UNDERSTAFFED ON FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!! We walked in on a Friday @6pm, expecting it to busy, but a 35 min wait standing in line with one girl taking orders was insane! The pizza is always cooked perfectly with a crisp yet chewy crust and loaded with toppings. There is a lot of dining space and they are able to accommodate large parties. We attended a family gathering here and had a whole area to mix and mingle amongst family. So happy the Lunch Buffet has returned!! However, the price point is way too high. Prior to the pandemic, you could get the buffet, which included pizza, salad and soda all for about 10 bucks. Today, I spent almost $17 dollars! No wonder I was the only one there. The pizza is still very good. Selections were good. Salad bar is fantastic. They need to adjust the price down a bit and advertise the fact that the buffet is back! Right now, I'd be better off just getting a personal or small whole pizza. read more

The team working here is extremely rude. The young man working the register was chewing gum loudly while talking to me. I mean if you're going to chew gum, put it on the side of your cheek while talking to customers! I picked up my $56 order and wanted to get the Yelp check in offer for garlic knots (or whatever it is). He said, "we don't offer that", so I showed him the coupon, "Yeah, but we don't offer that". So he wouldn't honor it, whatever. So then I ask for my order (2 pizzas and a salad), he hands me a plastic box, I ask if it was for the salad, he said yes. No idea that's how it worked. So I head to the salad bar, and there's very little of everything. I ask for croutons, so he asks another young man to fill it up. I try to say hello and thank you to the kid, and he doesn't say a word to me. So rude! Round Table is one of the best pizzas in San Diego. This was my first time trying out the location in Escondido. The food was great as always, the customer service was excellent, and the inside environment was very clean and friendly. Our only issue we had was when we tried to leave through the front, there was a homeless lady with her pants to her ankles, peeing on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. The employees were nice enough to let us exit through the back. This is not something I can ding and lower my review for Round Table. This is not their fault. This is the state of California's fault. Round Table Pizza has been my favorite for about 50 years. I lived in the SF bay area before moving south in 1972. It is a bit more expensive than others, but the quality is WAY better than any other chain. I don't always get my pizzas here, but I do when I can. This location stands up well. I highly recommend you try them at least once. I believe they are one of the few that uses real cheese. I fully understand those of you that prefer NY or Chicago pizza. I gotta say, I really like Round Table. I grew up on this place, and still really enjoy the pizza. Yeah, it's kinda pricey, but the quality of the ingredients is definitely there and there's lots of pizza choices. Different crust thickness, topping options, and they put out coupons all the time. I had forgotten about the lunch buffet, since it's only M-F from 11:30-1:30. But having a weekday off recently, and having a coupon for half off a second buffet, I decided to take my Mom to lunch there. I haven't done the buffet since I was a teenager, and we usually just order carryout. The buffet was great. For about $13, the 2 of us had plenty of food. The salad bar is fairly small, but it has some good, old school choices. And some favorites of mine, like bacon, raisins, and sunflower seeds. Oh, and baby corn for Mom, LOL. The buffet also has several pizza options: cheese, pepperoni, combo, & Hawaiian. All the classics. Plus cheese twists & the totally delicious cinnamon twists, which are just a strung-out cinnamon roll. You can add a soda to it for $1 as well. Great place for pizza and fun. I haven't been here since I was a kid. I enjoyed this visit. Got here at 12 on Saturday. Busy, four customers in line to order and one full girls softball team. You have to expect that coming here on a weekend. I was ready for it and had no issues with the busyness. Customer service:. As busy as it was, chaos everywhere and the guy behind the counter was taking orders, helping kids with quarters and explaining specials that I couldn't see anywhere. Caleb was great! Our turn was up and he asked how hungry we were and ran thru the specials that might work for us. He was polite and didn't let all the action get to him. He got our order perfect and then the food. Food: Pizzas; one specialty and one, one topping $25. 4 drinks $7 salad bar $6. Free twists with Yelp! Bonus. The pizza was fresh and delicious, the salad bar was good. Not great but everything was fresh and good. I knew it was a smaller one and I think that's ok because everything stays fresher just less choices. Food probably took 20-30 minutes didn't really pay attention or care. I knew it would be a wait. Overall good lunch with the family and even took some pizza home. Bonus. I will be back one day. I'm more of a fan of Round Table Pizza than this particular location. Round Table has always had great tasting pizza. I love their crispy crust and their bold tomato sauce. They really mean it when they say they don't skimp on ingredients. I was watching their staff create some delivery pizzas and they literally dropped a full cake pan of cheese on each pizza. If you order one of their specialty pizzas they load those up just as generously. If you were to have come to this Round Table Pizza 20 years ago it would have looked exactly the same. The carpeted floors could have been a lot brighter and cleaner back then of course. There are a lot of tables here, though relatively few games. They do have a jukebox but it only plays music if you pay. it would be nice if they has some music playing inside, maybe a free song from the jukebox every now and again. What I didn't like about this place was the cheap salad bar and the lack of people busing tables. In our room there were several tables that had old food on it...It just sat there for the hour we were dining here. Pretty gross. Well, I had written a review some months ago, probably a year or more with the way time has 'gone' these days. Let me just repeat what I had said before to the extent that I've been living in Escondido all my life, and as far back as I can remember I have always loved the Round Table on Washington Ave. in Escondido, and have been going there all my adult life (40+ years) BUT... it has been a while since I have been back to this one on Washington, and sadly to say, almost the EXACT same thing is happening at this store that was happening at the same owner's other store in Escondido, the Round Table off of Country Club drive. Now, the ironic thing is that I actually live literally about 2 blocks from this one on Country Club. But, as per my original review there, I had already decided a year ago that I would NOT go back to this one by my house because as I said before (I DID WRITE THE OWNER TWICE!) their ovens are turned up WAY too high and severely drying out the pizza, which to me, and I am not unreasonably demanding, makes it basically inedible. Again... Very sadly, I just got back from the one on Washington tonight, and yes, they are doing EXACTLY the same thing there. I'm GUESSING that it is so they can run the pizza's through the oven faster. But, I honestly must say, that for the very first time after going there all my life, I will NEVER, EVER go there again. EVER... The pizza was horribly dried out instead of the wonderful, juicy pizza I always remembered there. Even if you were half BLIND, you could even blatantly tell that all the sausage was burned. Totally awful and completely unacceptable. Now, FWIW, the Round Table in Rancho Bernardo (which is NOT owned by the same guy) the last time I went about 4 months ago, thankfully, it was STILL the nice, juicy, delicious pizza that I remember. The ingredients I feel have been downgraded slightly (at all of them) BUT... at least at the Rancho Bernardo location, the pizzas were NOT all dried out and nasty. What is truly puzzling to me is that both of these Escondido locations seem to continue to be very busy! And, I guess that is ALL that the owner gives a $h** about. As long as the people are dumb enough and as long as the money is flowing... But, without a doubt, I most certainly will absolutely NOT EVER give my hard earned money to them again for a dried out, VERY substandard pizza. No frigg'n way... BTW, this is to correct my positive review made for this store over a year ago. At that time they still were the same great pizza place I always remembered. But, sadly, no more... Go to Shakey's. When you call about it, the standard answer is "the driver just left ten minutes ago", but be prepared to wait another hour for it to show up. 2 stars because we love the pizza chain, zero stars because we've never had an order delivered in under 90 minutes. And it has taken over two hours on two occasions. I'm talking precovid as well, so we can't excuse them with that. I went to my local round table pizza located in Escondido CA.....I came to a familiar place that has changed. The pizza is not the same and how unfortunate and disappointing and sad. I waited for the pizza I ordered 45 minutes earlier and ended up waiting like maybe 10-15 minutes after waiting the previous 45. I received two pizzas that were not to my satisfaction but I didn't find that out until I got home which is about 30-45 minutes away from round table pizza in Escondido CA off Washington and Ash. My bbq chicken pizza was swimming in bbq sauce and my pepperoni with bacon and olives was not the same pizza I've received in the past. I unfortunately will not be returning to this establishment due to the condition and atmosphere of this establishment. Unfortunately it's not the same and I've lived here in Escondido/Valley Center area for 35 plus years.........I am sorry to report that nobody should have to pay for this pizza and I will not be returning to this location or any other ROUND TABLE PIZZA. I've been a 30 year resident of Escondido. My childhood is full of memories of pizza after soccer games or football games. Round Table has that family friendly atmosphere with plenty of space for your kids to wander around and play games... I recently went in after not having gone for several years. I ordered their BBQ Chicken pizza which was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. It was also good to see them investing some money back into the place with updated restrooms and new flooring. Round Table is my favorite pizza chain, mostly because of their creamy ranch. I always receive quality customer service. The employees at this location are very friendly. Today I ordered a King Arthur's Supreme pizza. About 30% of my extra large pizza did not have all of the toppings that come on a King Arthur's Supreme, which is unfortunate given the price paid. One slice did not even have cheese on it. I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and assume that, on a busy Friday like today, probably some employees are overwhelmed and cannot make pizzas up to standard. I think I'm mostly bothered by their ranch today. It is not as creamy or "runny" as I'm accustomed to from around Table. Today it has more of a jelly-like characteristic and the taste is off. I hope it's not old and that possibly this location just doesn't have ranch as great-tasting as other locations. I will continue to buy from Round Table and I hope the ranch at this location will taste better next time, in addition to there being an equal amount of paid for toppings on each slice of pizza. First Impressions: In many ways it is the Round Table of your childhood. There are games, kids running around, happy. And lots and lots of seating for the inevitable after baseball/soccer/football game dinner with the kids. If you want somewhere to bring a family, this is your spot. Not a quiet place, but don't let that stop you. The Pizza: I reviewed the menu of specialty pizzas and ended up with one that came with it all: pepperoni, sausage, artichoke hearts, mushroom and I think onion. It sounded good, but to be honest I was not really expecting too much. Just imagine what happened when my socks were blow right off. The pizza arrived and I was just stunned. It looked great, plenty of toppings, fresh, smelled amazing. It's like I had gotten delivery for so long that I forgot what a great pizza can be. And great pizza it is. The flavors were there, it was delicious. My sweetheart and I were talking about this pizza for days after. The Service: Young kids, really friendly and served us timely. Overall, very pleased. So, for all of the years I've been living in Escondido, we never made it to the weekday lunch buffet at Round Table Pizza... until now. I'll preface that I have gotten pizza for take out from here in the past and I've always been a big Round Table fan, it's just this location is out of the way and we're never home during the week. Since we were, my husband suggested we try it out. For $6.99, plus your drink of course, it's a pretty good deal. They keep the pizza rolling out and even have those little garlic bread twists, a salad bar and a dessert pizza. It was surprisingly busy in there, but they kept putting out more pizza all the way up until 1:30 when we left. Since that is when it is supposed to end, it was surprising seeing that they just kept putting more freshies out. Good deal. So, the food was good. That's the best part about this place. Wanna know the rest of the story? It's old. And looks dirty. And the tables we sat in were super duper tiny... really strange. The games they have are all old and tired. This place needs a major facelift. But, the staff is very friendly and nice. Overall, it's a good value and I like their pizza and flavors. I'll go back, but I really would like to see it snazzed up a bit and the bathroom could use a serious cleaning. REALLY. What can they do for five stars? I said it already. I hosted an event in the back room for the first time and was absolutely happy with the end result! Management and staff were very attentive to our needs for us and our guests. I would like to shout out Angel who was running us our orders nonstop and attended our every need with a smile. Please give him the recognition he deserves. We came in to have a family dinner and the atmosphere was great! Nice families enjoying time with the kids. They have an air hockey table and bear claw machines. Bring lots of quarters!!! Kira helped us at the counter and she was great! Recommend her favorites to us and was very kind and sweet to my daughter. We had large pizza and 12 wings, plus breadsticks and that fed 5 people.
