When I'm working down in Encinitas (Cardiff), several times I order delivery from this location. I always place my order online and my order is always delivered "before" the scheduled delivery time. The drivers always ask me if I need any utensils or cheese and peppers. Very professional. I usually order wings and pizza and an occasional flatbread. The food always shows up hot and ready to go. Somehow there is a birthday party reserving about HALF the building (who okayed that??) which means the remaining seating is highly contested. If you want pizza with your kids in Encinitas this is great choice. They've got a few games, surprisingly great pizza, fantastic salad bar, and many beer choices. The kids have gotten pretty rowdy here but never have been asked by the employees or management to settle down (I ask my kids to settle down, but I like that my threshold is lower than theirs is). RT used to be the "Last Honest Pizza" it's too bad that RT has lost sight of what helped them grow. What can I say about RTP? It hasn't changed in over 30 yrs? Yep, I can say that. Their pizza is ok...better than Shakeys? Yep, just said that. It's no Pizza Port or Bronx Pizza, but that's ok. Their salad bar is pretty decent too? Ok, done and said. Their blue cheese dressing is the one I remember from 30 yrs ago...no, not old, just the same flavor. My son and I have been a fan of their lunch buffet forever and it hasn't changed much. I do like their cheesy dough balls....good with the salad. This second order they did not knock or ring doorbell, just left the pizza on the doorstep. We found it 30 minutes later. The pizza was cold and had to be microwaved to heat it up, which isn't all that appetizing. When I called Round Table Pizza about the situation, I was told "we will talk with the delivery person about it" and that was it. No offer to comp us for our next pizza, nothing. I am a HUGE fan of Round Table, but this location is lacking. Came In for lunch w my son and we opted for the buffet. I have am been to a handful of RT buffets and they usually have fresh pizza, clean tables and happy workers. There were a good amount of people in the restaurant, but there were limited pizza options at the buffet. There were a few slices of King Arthur Supreme (my favorite) and some other bot too appetizing options. Well, I got a slice of King Arthur. Good thing too, cuz that was the last of the good honest pizza. What followed was a pepperoni, a cheese, and a sausage pizza. Good pizza, but how about some toppings??? The minute a pizza went up, all of us vultures attacked. Then waited for the next. Tables were dirty. Staff was unaccommodating (paper plates? Come on- I didn't order to go). Since we don't live too close to Round Table, we come here when we want a pizza that is a little different. I love the thin yeasty crust and the generous amount of toppings we get on the pizzas here. The pepperoni's here belong on my Pizza Topping Hall of Fame: crispy and salty, with just a little spicy kick. The other day we had a work-party at our house, getting ready for our booth at the Del Mar Fair. By 3 pm we were all exhausted and starving. Pizza is pretty good. Generally prefer to pick up and take home. Tried delivery the other night and everything arrived fine. Dining in can be noisy with television, juke box, and video arcade, but gives kids options. Could do better on keeping tables clean. This location would score higher if people at cash register (order takers) were more appreciative of customers and improved generally unpleasant attitudes. Good for groups with semi-private areas and I believe they will take reservations for teams, etc. read more

Don't get me wrong...I do like Round Table pizza- just not from this location. We have had issues with incorrect delivery- primarily that they can't make their standard pizzas correctly. Last time they were at least polite and sent a replacement that was correct. This time, we were met with arguments and push back from the manager. They finally showed up with the replacement pizza and received a message from the delivery person that this had happened before and they would not address it again in the future. I have always liked Round Table Pizza on 41st Avenue, however, after the experience I had tonight I will never go back. I ordered a medium sausage with extra cheese and a personal Guinevere's Garden. While paying for my order I heard the guy who pulls out the pizzas, slices and boxes them say, "hey, I dropped a pizza". Then, " hey,I need another personal Guineveres'. I watched as a older woman walked over to him and asked "where?". He pointed to the floor. She grabbed a paddle and scooped the pizza up off the floor and placed it on the bottom rack of the pizza oven. Then the young man that had rang up my order,placed my medium sausage pizza on the counter in front of me and proceeded to look for the personal pizza. When he went back to the guy slicing the pizzas and asked him where it was he told him he had dropped it. The guy turned to me and said it would be a few more minutes. Then he went back to the register to help another customer. As I'm standing there watching, the guy who dropped the pizza, scoops it up off the bottom rack, places it on the counter, and proceeds to slice it and box it. Then the other guy at the register turns, picks up the box and places it on top of the other pizza and says " here's your order". Are you kidding me??? I push the top pizza back at him and tell Jim I don't want that pizza. He stares blankly at me and says "what?" I repeat that I don't want that pizza because it was dropped on the floor. He just looks at me. I say, I saw him drop it on the floor. I heard him say twice that he dropped it on the floor.I watched her scoop it up and put it on the bottom rack of the over. I heard him tell you he dropped it. Then I watched him slice.it and.box it. I do not want that pizza. No sorry. Nothing. After standing there for another 10 minutes I asked if they were making me another? Yes, I was told. Lots of glances my way from the women but no apology. I am livid!I will never eat there again! They keep my info on file to know that my address is on the side of the house not the main door. They are always quick, and the pizza is good. Its not a pizza that you would ever get in new York, but i dont feel the new york places around here have that kind of pizza. Round Table Pizza has always been at least SOMEWHAT tasty. But I generally have to agree with Ms. Julie G - for the most part, they sell average pizzas at inflated prices. ($19.99 for a 12-slice Large that barely feeds 4) As far as the pizza goes, their original crust has a really nice flavor and their pizza sauce is a little bit spicier that most other chains - which is a nice change. Based on the plaque proudly displayed in the lobby, the last time they used "Real California Cheese" was in 2001 - clearly nothing to be proud about. The presentation of their pizzas reminds me of the $1 Jeno's pizzas that you buy in bulk from the supermarket. Everything's all shriveled up and slightly burned on the edges. If you're looking for good quality pizza, don't come to Round Table Pizza in Encinitas. HOWEVER, if you ARE looking for a good place to bring about 4-10 children who will eat ANY kind of pizza, Round Table is the place to go. They'll enjoy the pizza, regardless of quality, they'll enjoy their 8 oz drink for $1.49, and the pretty lights and noises emanating from the 5 mediocre arcade games from 1992 that are surprisingly still in operation. I started ordering here after I'd finally had it with all of the wrong pizza orders and late deliveries from the local Domino's that's super close to our home. Well, tonight I placed an order online and was emailed an arrival time of approximately 7:19pm. I'm a pretty patient guy, and with it being Monday Night Football night, I figured it might be a little bit late.Well, around 7:45pm, I was entertaining the idea of calling just to check on the progress of my order when my phone suddenly rang. It was Round Table calling to apologize profusely for the delay in order! I would have been more than satisfied with that, but then I was told that I would have a $15.00 credit off of my next order as well! Argh -- just spent 1/2 hour on their website trying to order pizza for a house full of kids. Couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Finally picked up the phone to call (difficult with house full of screaming kids) and the lady said "are you using american express?" I said yes -- and she said "sorry - we don't take am ex."
