10 cubic yards of decomposed granite (and a super cute pug)
Gen M.

We had the BEST experience! I called around 8:30am and they asked me to text with the details of my order. They texted back within 3 minutes, and included a photo of an invoice. I approved and called to pay. We ordered 10 cubic yards of decomposed granite and it was all unloaded in my backyard by 1:30 pm that same day! It helps that we have a sliding gate and a corner lot, but I'm so happy they could accommodate our backyard dump (instead of driveway).

The owner is extremely rude...if you're just a homeowner looking to DIY and do $500ish in business, he doesn't have time for you.

This place deserves the **"I have escaped the concrete hellscape and entered the garden…read moresanctuary"** review. We absolutely LOVED Green Planet Scapes. We had just come from the big-box garden center, so walking into a nursery with **SHADE**, beautiful healthy plants, reasonable prices, and people who actually care about what they're selling felt downright luxurious. The staff was attentive, kind, and genuinely knowledgeable--and, most importantly to us, they clearly give a darn about native plants and the ecosystem they're going into. They had **actual native milkweeds for our monarchs**, including Asclepias tuberosa, and I was thrilled to see that they **do not sell tropical milkweed**. That alone tells me this is a nursery paying attention rather than just stocking whatever will sell. And the whole place just feels *loved*. There are thoughtful little details everywhere to enhance the experience. At one point, classical music was playing (seriously) while we wandered around freely (and finally not sweating) on a summer Saturday, looking at gorgeously curated plants, and I thought, "Well, I guess this is where we buy things now?" Grateful to Green Planet for saving us the gas money we used to spend driving down to Natural Gardener. Compared to the big boxes: Cooler, cheaper, kinder, more chill, more knowledgeable, more beautiful--and you're supporting a local place that actually seems to care about what grows well here. And they're tucked immediately off of 620 and hard to spot--unless your eyes naturally gravitate to 20 ft tall green inflatables? Turn immediately! You will have found your new go to plant place.

Lots of good plants in for fall. Was happy to see a native Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa) for sale!read more

Use the second entrance to access various parking areas guided by parking attendants. You'll begin to see the wonder as the expansive lot, shaded by a canopy of large trees, opens up. An incredible variety of things to see. As you approach the main areas, you'll immediately notice the myriad water features, ponds, and decor. Further back, you see even more inspiring arrangements, many of which can be purchased and installed as-is at impressively competitive prices. There are several buildings on the lot: check-out, tradesmen, and greenhouses. The staff are great - don't be afraid to ask questions!

10 OUT OF 10!!!...will wander again. :-D…read more Absolutely blown away. Hill Country Water Gardens isn't just a nursery...it's a full-blown botanical mini-adventure. It's the kind of place where you come for a plant and end up staying for the vibes. Think of it as a garden center meets a peaceful mini outdoor museum. Everything is beautifully organized by plant type, making it easy to find what you're looking for...or, more likely, making it easy to get joyfully distracted while you wander. There are cozy benches for daydreaming, koi ponds full of personality, colorful lily pads that pop out and wave at you, and the kind of friendly staff that actually makes you want to ask questions. Inspiration? It's everywhere. From the water features, to the whimsical sculptures, to lush displays that make you rethink your whole gardening vision. There are restrooms if nature calls, and there are plenty of delightful garden goodies to buy/take home. It's rare to find a place that feeds your inner gardener, your creative soul, and your serotonin all at once...but somehow, this place pulls it off. I'm so glad it exists.

They do offer military discount upon request and they will save your number to keep you in their system so you don't have to keep showing your ID. They take such a good care of their plants here. You don't see any wilting or dying plants you only see thriving plants. And also, they have such unusual plants that I don't find anywhere else. Today I saw LITHOPS which are living rocks. They're not actually rocks are actually little plants, but they look like rocks. So interesting! I also found Coral Bells in two different colors. I cannot resist these. They are going to make an excellent addition to my garden. This store is medium priced, but their plants are high-quality. I will again come to the store to browse, and most likely I will purchase something else Amazing! In addition to plants, they have pots and trellises and soil and everything that you would need to build your garden. Their employees are also quite knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend you visit.
