This year it was great seeing so many local beverages provided by Argus Cidery, Glazers, Hops & Grain, Independence Brewing Co., Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Tipsy Texan, and Zhi Tea. From savory to sweet the chefs prepared creative cuisine to share with guests. The portions are small enough to sample many of what the restaurants are serving yet large enough that one's appetite is satisfied as the event comes to an end. Some of my favorites dishes were: Italic - walnut olive oil cake with mascarpone and blackberry. I loved that this dessert was more savory vs sweet. Lick Ice Cream - Roasted beet & mint Ice cream with honey cream, goat cheese and chocolate waffle. Delysia Chocolate - Raspberry truffle; potato, smoked cheese, bacon and chive truffle. I don't know how chocolatier Nicole Pitel comes up with these flavors but she's a genius! The Bribery Bakery - strawberry lime brown butter blondie. This was my first time trying Jodi Elliot's sweets and I was incredibly impressed. Eden East - Hay smoked red fish with pickled garlic chip, lemon confit, dill kennebec potato pancake and crispy fish skin. Bonneville - savory Korean style braised lamb steamed buns. The company I work for purchases a table to this event every year through a co-op partner as they believe in SFC's mission and services they provide our community. SFC empowers adults and children to grow their own food by providing education and resources. Their nationally recognized Happy Kitchen program is a cooking and nutrition education program that helps grows skills in food selection and preparation. SFC also has a Farm Direct program which brings together local growers, schools, urban residents, and institutional food service operations worksites in demand of fresh produce through weekly SFC Farmers' Markets and direct marketing projects, such as farm-to-cafeteria, farm-to-school, and farm-to-work. Events like the Farm to Plate put money back into this wonderful organization.

We checked out both of their locations -- the setup at Rock House Bar and the food truck/trailer park, plus the location at All Good in Cedar Park -- and had a great experience at both. The crawfish was really tasty, well-seasoned without being overly spicy, and a great value for the price. We happened to be at the Rock House location during the Kentucky Derby and got to participate in the Crawfish Derby event, which made for a really fun day. Even better, the proceeds went to a great cause. You can tell this is a friendly, family-run operation that genuinely cares about the community and the customer experience. Highly recommend if you're looking for good crawfish and a laid-back atmosphere.

I purchased an alligator pastry from My.Boulangerie....so delicious and decadent. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming...very much like a neighborhood market vibe. It's free to attend, family friendly, and dog friendly, which makes it an easy Saturday outing whether you're browsing solo, meeting friends, or bringing children and fur babies. The area it is in is gorgeous and was not expecting to feel like I was in a different world. Appetizers that were supplied for the wedding were great, but I thought the main meal was kind of lacking and kind of inconsistent. I understand it's hard to cater for that many guests though. Most staff were pleasant and welcoming but had a couple of experiences where we felt very rushed and herded around the property. We arrived at 7:32. When our party of four arrived, we were told there was no table for us. Even though there were two tables available in the dining room. We were told that those tables were reserved for someone else and we could not sit at that table. We were told that it was another reservation for 730. We were not offered any accommodation, even though there were four barstools at the bar open, except to sit outside on the patio in the 90° heat. We refused and decided to find a different place to eat. It was very shocking that they treated us in this manner as I have been a guest at the Wayback multiple times and never had this experience. It was almost like it was a prank. We went back to the car to find another restaurant to celebrate my friend's birthday. While we are making arrangements for that, I realized that I had paid $25 for this reservation that they were not honoring and I wanted to make sure I requested that be returned. I went back into the dining room at 7:50 and the table for four that they refused to sit us at was still available. Amy, the young lady who said she was "like a manager", treated us as though we had done something wrong. When I went back in and requested my $25 back from her she made some comment regarding my refund tied to whether we gave them a bad review for the incident (one of my friends as we walked out of the dining room, said she would be leaving a review). I called the main number the following day and spoke with Vicky. Vicky told me she wanted to look into the situation and figure out what had happened. I told her the intention of my call was to get my the deposit refunded. She called me back a few hours later explaining it was their fault. She said that there was another person in the restaurant that had my same name and they wanted to move from the patio to the dining room and the staff gave away our reservation to that party. Understandable. She was apologetic and told me she would take care of the refund and also offered to send me $50 gift card through Toast. I'm not even really sure how that works or what that is, but I really just wanted to close out the whole deal. No refund or Gift Card ever showed up. I know sometimes that can take a little bit of time so I waited until the 25th and called back. No one answered. I left a message and did not get a returned call. I called again at about 11 AM on the 26th again no answer. I did not leave another message. I called again around 4pm. Amy, the young lady we dealt with on the evening of the event, answered the phone. She said the people in the office had already left for the day and she would take my phone number and name and somebody would call me on Monday. She called me back about 30 minutes later telling me she needed the card number that the reservation was made under. I didn't really feel comfortable giving that to her so I just said I would wait to hear from the office staff on Monday. Well no one called on Monday. No one called on Tuesday either. I called in on Wednesday and spoke with Vicky again. She said she had gone out of town and doesn't know why the refund was not taken care of. She said she was needed some time to look into it. I asked her to call me back when she had some resolution. I did not hear back from Vicky but today I got an email from toast that a $25 refund to my credit card had been run.... and I never provided my card number to have that refund issued. I do not take any pleasure in writing a bad review for a business. I waited to write this review until there had been full resolution so I gave them plenty of opportunities to communicate clearly and make this situation right. It kept getting fumbled which leaves me with the impression that they don't care about customer service.

5 stars for vibes alone…read more We dropped by to enjoy the nice weather and some beers when we happened to be staying closeby for a wedding. It's in a scenic part of Austin, amongst the hills and close to Lake Travis. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and my favorite was the live music stage set up on top of the bed of a vintage truck outside. The lone person pouring the beers behind the counter was super nice as well. Can't wait to drop by next time I am back in the area!

Infamous Brewing Company was one of the breweries I had for the Austin area down on my list to try…read more It's always a great feeling when a brewery on my list gets tried out even though that is fairly frequent it still is just a little bit of an accomplished feeling. For this brewery Steven and I tried one of their beers. We wanted a lighter beer and on the refreshing side since it was a warmer day we were encountering so we got the Dye-It Pils. As the name is a abbreviated in the beer it is a pilsner in beer type and hit the spot nicely. Flavors to enjoy with this beer are a hint of breadiness, crisp, a hint of sour and a clean finish. The beer is light bodied which is perfect for hot weather and bright in color. The taproom for Infamous is cool... it is located in a garage or shed. At least that's the impression I got with the taproom. It was a great place to kick back and relax.

Kitli is technically a food truck (or rather, a drink truck?) location and it can be difficult to find during the day. It is located behind the Brewing brick and mortar and is in a small food truck park. My best advice would be to park on the paved area near the businesses. I had trouble finding it, so I asked someone on a picnic table where the location was and it happened to be the owner, Shaurir. He was super nice and advised my friend and I about what they had in stock and what was out of stock. I was apprehensive about trying the Kaleidoscope because of the "marshmallow" flavor in it, but Shaurir stated that it tasted like a watermelon jollyrancher so I was sold. It was a good decision and the drink tasted amazing! The second drink I tried was the windsurfer. I think this is ultimately my favorite. I love coconut and this drink had white tea, blackberry and coconut in it. I would definitely recommend checking this place out and can't wait to come back!

The setup was not quite what I expected. There are six tables that seat ~six people, so you're going to be sitting with strangers. You start by going around the room and introducing yourself and your favorite cheese, basically as an ice breaker to meet everyone there. It was a little noisy and not intimate for a 2-person outing. It felt much more like a social gathering, and I think it would be better as a friend meeting, group gathering, or even a team-building activity. It's also a good way to meet strangers if that's what you're looking for. You get a discount on in-store purchases, which is a nice bonus. You can also take your leftovers home, so don't feel compelled to eat the entire plate like I did! The only other issue was that cashing out took a long time at the end because their POS system wasn't working well.
