After waiting 5 attempts at about 15 minutes each with no progress, I realized this was a bigger problem than restart could fix. I brought my laptop into iSolution and the guy watched the whirligig and said, "This is an OS problem." Luckily I had my WD back up drive and it was current, so I told him if he had to wipe the laptop, so be it. Well, after a few hours he called and said the OS was corrupted and that he'd been able to fix it without wiping my laptop. No need to reinstall everything. What stood out was that he wasn't trying to upsell me -- he gave honest feedback on each option and helped me decide based on whether I wanted a short-term or long-term solution. His pricing was very reasonable compared with other repair shops, especially considering he came directly to me. Before starting, Tony inspected the damage and explained that its location near the motherboard could potentially mean additional issues. Once he opened the phone, he confirmed the board was undamaged and proceeded with the original OEM screen replacement. About 20 minutes later, my screen was replaced. He also came prepared with a screen protector, which I appreciated and had him install. Before leaving, we went through the phone together, tested screen responsiveness, checked the settings, and confirmed there were no alerts or issues. Then came the unexpected bonus. After a previous battery replacement at uBreakiFix, my earpiece volume had become extremely low. I NEVER mentioned this to Tony.
