Rice was rock hard, yogurt sauce was old and had a musty smell to it. And the worst part was the steak. It was medium rare, maybe even rare, pink and bloody (I usually order medium when ordering steak so I'm positive of the steak being bloody). Needless to say we threw the food out and left. To top it all off, every flavor soda was out and we told them and they Definitely didn't care lol. Definitely the worst location I've been to. Very disappointed. read more

Really disappointed with the lack of consistency at this location and others. I got the chicken kabob bowl this time. Meat was dried out and I couldn't even eat the rice. It was dry and hard. Unfortunately, I took the food to go-so sucked when I got home and couldn't eat most of it. The staff there also started breaking down the toppings bar half an hour before closing. You couldn't even see all the options and the bar itself was a disaster. Pieces of food and sauces all over the place. Highly doubtful it would've passed a health inspection at that point. Person behind counter was grabbing stuff with his gloved hands to add toppings instead of using serving utensils. Overall a terrible experience. This place used to be so awesome. Will not be back. I used to go to Roti quite often a few years ago because it was near my gym at the time. I went back on Sunday for the first time in a while. Roti offers Mediterranean fare and is set up similar to chipotle. They offer chicken, steak, salmon and falafel. You can get these in a wrap, a house baked pita, or on a rice plate. Portions are definitely bigger if you go with a plate. The addings available are tomatoes/cucumbers, cabbage, couscous and hummus to name a few. This is a fast casual spot that is a good option for healthier or vegetarian options. I also believe the food here to be quite fresh. A good spot if you're looking to switch it up a bit and get a fresh, healthy meal. read more

We have used this location for catering a few times. Every time there is something they forget and have to beach and get it, which throws the timing of for a business lunch. Will not be using them again. Too many other good options. As far as the food goes, chicken and hummus are good. Falafel nowhere close to Mizrahi, which is just down the road. read more

I really enjoy this place for dinner or lunch - always satisfying! I like the rice plate with either chicken or steak - both delicious! They give you two pieces of pita with your plate. For sides they have many gluten free options - my nephew has celiac and they were very careful about washing. Hands / switching gloves. I enjoy all sides so I ask for it all + hummus and LOVE THE GARLIC SAUCE. I'd ask for the red/ green on the side - tasty but spicy. read more

I was disappointed with the experience at this location since we have been to the one on Willow with no problems. And...they ran out of rice. How is this possible? No apology, no nothing, just, "we are all out" and would not substitute with another item since "the meal does not normally come with that". Someone later came by and gave us a coupon that expired in May, but we were already leaving. Also, there were several spiders climbing up the walls by the soda and half the empty tables were covered in food. Overall, I'd gather that this location is disorganized and obviously very poorly managed. read more

I just went to the new Roti on Dundee and Skokie Blvd with high hopes. There is good news, but mostly bad. The good: the quality of the sides and sauces is very good, and equivalent or better than their competition. The bad: where to begin: 1) The pita...simply horrible. They asked me to wait 2 minutes to "bake some fresh pita" which entailed reheating stale pita that cracked and shattered after putting it through the toaster. Good pita makes a meal; bad pita ruins it. This was embarrassing, especially since Naf Naf makes such beautiful pita, proving that even a chain can do it. 2) The menu is too limited (and expensive). As a vegetarian, I always get either a cup of soup, and/or a vegetarian combo plate when I eat middle eastern. Sorry, no soup for you! and to get a combo plate of sides you have to do a Jack Nicholson from Five Easy Pieces. He wanted toast, which was not on the menu of a diner, so he ordered a turkey sandwich on toast, hold the turkey, mayo, lettuce, you get the idea. I was told by an employee, I could get a plate of sides if I ordered a falafel salad, and asked them to hold the falafel and greens, for $8.45. Really, is it too hard to put a plate of sides on the menu? Even Chipotle allows you to get chips and guacamole. 3) The staff, while I am mentioning Chipotle, it is clear that the staff knew very little about middle eastern food. I had to laugh/cry when I asked for schug and the server took a ladle full and dumped it on as if it was salsa. Oy! I felt similarly when I went to Kaufman's on Dempster after it reopened with new staff, asked for a knish, and no one knew what one was... When the staff cut the top of pita, the server put the extra pieces inside the pita as filling...really? I think I will drive a bit further in the short term to either Mizrahi to eat with my brethran, or to Pita in on Dempster to eat by my middle eastern cousins, until Roti gets its legs. It has given me a strong appreciation for the trips that Rick Bayless makes with his staff down to Mexico to learn about the food they are preparing and serving. The trips here would be up to Highland Park or to Skokie for the staff to see how middle eastern food is prepared and served. read more

This place is awful!!! Don't waste your money!!! Asked for extra rice and they say it's and extra charge. Do you know how cheap rice is!!! They are stingy and the food is horrible nothing about it is mediterranean. I will never ever eat here again and I highly recommend everyone else not to waste their money on low grade food. They don't even get a star that's how much my experience sucked, but in order for me to post it they make you at least give a star. Garbage place! read more

Today, I completed an online order for myself and several colleagues. It had a 12:15 pick up scheduled. Got there at 12:15 and there was no food. 12:30, no food. I ask to speak to the manager and I'm told he's putting together my order. I look up and there's a guy studying a receipt, going to the food line, then running back to the receipt, rinse and repeat. He's moving painfully slow and seemingly having a hard time remembering the order. I offer to read off the items to help expedite the process and he waves me off. 12:40 and I get the food. The cashier gave me some free cookies, which was nice. I get back to work and I'm MISSING an entree! For the price, the slow service and the missing food (that I was charged for), I will not return. Individuals who want to order something might have better luck but any group orders or catering, look out! You can expect to wait, get the wrong order and be charged for it all and then some. read more

I had never had the courage to go to a restaurant and try something new. Today was my first time trying Roti. Let me just say when I walked it the atmosphere was very inviting. Franco and Eliezer both greeted me as I walked in. They we both very capable of explaining the whole menu options. They both gave me the best experience, it was beyond expectations. From the food to the service everything was exceptional. Eliezer came to my table and asked me if the food was good and also asked if he can get my garbage off the table. The food was great, but the service was phenomenal. Franco and Eliezer were very friendly. If i had a restaurant I would immediately hire them. Thank you for the great experience!!! read more

I was really excited when this Roti location opened right next to my neighborhood because I love their other Roti location on Willow Rd and have Roti quite often. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by this new location's extremely skimpy portions. I went to this new location twice. Once was with a colleague a few days after it opened. We both are Roti fans but we definitely felt that their portions were extra skimpy compared to their Willow location, which has good portions. The second time my husband got us dinner and without me saying anything, he said he felt the portion was really small and he was still hungry. I felt the same way and we had to raid the fridge after our skimpy dinner. This is not just someone complaining. We love the portion size of the other location and have never had a complaint about anything there, but with a chain restaurant, you expect a certain uniformity. Also, their prices are pretty hefty for what I would consider the caliber of Chipotle fast food, so you do expect to at least get a decent portion. Also, maybe this was because the place had opened recently, but they did not have the eggplant side, which I love, and you expect to get the same thing at a different location with a chain. Food is still good, atmosphere is nice and clean, but portions are very skimpy. I will give them a chance to read their customer comments, and then I will give this location a try again to see if their portions are up to par. For now, we will continue visiting the Willow location, even though this one is much closer and more convenient for us. read more

This location opened recently and I decided to try it because it is near my home. I like their selection of food offerings and beverages very much. The staff are happy to comply with your wishes when customizing your order. My personal trainer friend likes to order extra meat servings, and they accommodate him (at modest additional cost). They will pack your order "to go" if you wish. The dining area is kept clean and is pleasant. They seem to have gotten past the start-up phase "jitters". If you like their food, I think you'll be happy dining at this location. If you want to keep your cost per person under "$", be careful of extra cost add-ons such as extra servings or beverages. read more

Food is incredible here. I usually come out once every week or two. Reasonably priced and very healthy. The location is very well kept and nice inside. The staff is always very nice and accommodating. I've been coming here for over a year since they've opened and I've never had a bad experience. And it's not just Roti in general. This one in particular I prefer because they don't skimp on the food! Unlike the other locations, this by far is the best! read more

I'm a big fan of Roti, and eat at this location 2-3 times a week. It's Roti Chicken is always fresh and moist. Lettuce fresh, only problem is the toppings are a bit skimpy. Love the tea and juices, you can even just get a side of protein or veggies:) read more

This is one of the best Roti's that I've been to. Unlike most Roti's, they didn't limit the number of sides that I could include in my wrap. I thought the portions were better than other Roti's; my Lafa was large. I think they may have made changes since the last group of people reviewed the restaurant re: small portions. They also have a few new items that I've never seen at other Rotis, including a spicy green sauce called Shug (or Schug) that was really great. They let us try a few of the new sides and sauces before we committed to putting them in our lafas. Overall, had a great experience here. read more

I've eaten here and on Willow and (at least when I visited) this was the better managed, cleaner version. The food was good and the prices are ok. Let's face it, for fast food this is good, but doesn't compete with my favorite Pi-Hi cafe down in Chi-Town. Also not as good as Siunik in Glenview. read more

I've been to this location several times since it opened. The food is generally good, but the service is absolutely terrible. Nothing is ever ready on the line, the staff has no sense of urgency, and transactions are often rung up incorrectly. The location on Willow is far better managed. It was my first time coming in to this place. It was a great experience. I was helped by who seemed to be the manager she was so nice. And Smiled a lot! She explained to me all the proteins and described what they tasted like before even trying them. She was patient and explained the menu very clearly. A line formed right after I came in, I suddenly saw three more people come to the line to help. They ran it so smoothly and quick. Probably my favorite spot from now on. The young lady came to my table and took the trash after I was done. I felt like they cared about the customers. I completely recommend this place, it is an awesome experience. Horrible customer service! The ordering process is like Chipotle and they somehow got confused at some point and thought my order was someone else's and started adding unwanted ingredients to the order. It took them several minutes to even figure out what went wrong and several more minutes for them to make me a new plate. The food is really overpriced- just go next door to Chipotle, Marianos, or Panera where they run a much better operation. read more

We ate here after visiting the Botanic garden. It was great. I had the falafel rice plate and tried almost every side. I thought the price was affordable since they use sustainable and organic products. I would go here again if I didn't live an hour away. read more
