I was really excited to try this place and finally got to do so with my fiancé. This spot reminds me of Panera and Sweet Green. I customized a protein bowl and my fiancé got the try two combo with a soup and sandwich, we also got two large citrus berry drinks. The total was almost $50.00 for everything. We opened the bag and everything looked well packed till we noticed they packed my protein bowl in a plastic container that had separate compartments along with the ciabatta bread and chocolate covered strawberry. I would have enjoyed my protein bowl more if they actually packed it in a to go bowl. I'm not sure if this restaurant has to go bowls but please get some because it would definitely improve the quality of the food for customers. The citrus berry punch didn't have any citrus flavor at all and I tasted more honey if anything, I was looking for a bold citrus flavor but didn't get that. It tasted like honey water. I'm not sure how to feel it's a little pricey and my protein bowl looked sloppy. Please invest in some good quality "to go" bowls for carry out customers. read more

Zupas has more interesting menu items than similar restaurants such as Panera or Corner Bakery with a few more Asian inspired and vegetarian items and huge soup menu. They have allowed a large group take over during the lunch hour, leaving no nearby parking, long lines for food, no seating, loud environment etc. If you're going to allow your dining room to be be turned into a cafeteria at a senior facility, at least plan accordingly. Put in some 15 minute parking, move them to one area and have a designated server for them. How do you expect people running in on their lunch break to be able to order and enjoy their meal??? read more

The concept behind Cafe Zupas's is to have a café filled with fresh ingredients. I've seen produce trucks making deliveries at heir stores many times. I love the idea of having good food that you don't have to feel guilty about. I've loved their food since the first time that I've been to one of their restaurants. I've stayed away recently because they raised their prices to be more expensive than Panera. A group of coworkers wanted to go there. To my surprise their prices had gone back down and their food tasted as good as ever. When you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by signs that direct you in how to order. It's not overly complicated but I still enjoy clear signage. The restaurant is clean and the decorations and atmosphere is inviting. I had the BBQ pork sandwich and the lobster bisque. With your meal you get a roll and a chocolate covered strawberry. The sandwich had a great taste. The BBQ sauce paired nice with the slaw that they use. The lobster bisque was hearty with generous portions. I used the roll to dip into the soup. And you can't beat a chocolate covered strawberry for the perfect ending. Now that the prices are more in line with other establishments, I look forward to going back more often. read more

I visited Café Zupas today and had a great experience. The portions are on the smaller side, but it was enough food for me. I ordered the enchilada soup and BBQ chicken salad. Since I track my macros, I ordered extra chicken because the initial serving didn't seem like enough protein. The enchilada soup was delicious and the salad was tasty as well. I am. Sick at home and my wife is in arizona with her very ill mother. She decided to send me some food and she sent out four cups of soup and 2 sandwiches. 1 of the soups was lobster bisque ,which tasted nothing like lobster and was full of unwanted vegetables. The 2 sandwiches were pathetic, looked nothing like their pictures online. I called into the restaurant and spoke to a woman who said she was one of the managers. I explained how I was very unhappy about the food and asked her what they were going to do for me.she basically said she could only issue a refund if she contacted my wife who placed the order. I objected to that because I didn't want my wife to feel bad that the food was not satisfactory and the fact that she was doing a nice thing for me. It didn't want to hurt her feelings. This manager basically said she couldn't do that and I told her that the payment came from our joint checking, so why did she mandate that my wife had to be hurt by telling her that I was very unhappy with the food order. She would not relent and basically hung up on me. This is HORRIBLE. Why does this resturant have such heartless employees and why does the food look nothing like the photos or the lobster bisque not even remotely resemble any other I have had 50 times in my life. When I got there today someone was sweeping the floors. Touching a dirty ass broom. Instinctually I would think the first thing to do when you help someone right after is WASH YOUR HANDS. But no he proceeds to grab the gloves with his dirty hands. Even trying to open the gloves to put them on, he still touch the side he's going to touch my food with with his dirty hands. I get this is not a Michelin Star restaurant but have some pride and common sense. And the last thing is wear a clean apron.How are you going to have all kinds of stains all over your work clothes. The food was just ok and the ambiance was very noisy as there were groups of women playing MahJongg nearby, besides the usual restaurant noise, with nothing to absorb sound. The friendliness/great soups, sandwiches and salads can't be beat. There is such a variety, I go once a week with friends. Perfect place for women as they offer 1/2 servings. Not that it isn't great for men. There are always equal numbers. Whole servings are terrific for larger eaters but for lunch, I prefer the half servings and the price is definitely affordable. Portions are generous. AND, each meal includes a roll and and chocolate covered strawberry. My only problem with the menu is that there is such variety that I have difficulty deciding what I will eat because I like so many of them. The soups are terrific and are enough for a meal. The veggie soup has an unbelievably delicious bouillon base. My friends get the chicken enchilada chili soup..so good. And they have specials frequently that are terrific. I love the golden curry chicken soup. If you can't decide they let you have half of bowl of two different soups. They heat the sandwiches if requested which makes them panini-like. My friends share a sandwich for lunch. (They don't care how little you order.) I love the turkey avocado club. I also love the salad selection. My favorite is the California Club. There are many, many dressing choices and you get a choice of three types of lettuce. AND there is avocado on many of the choices. They also have a very affordable kids menu. The restaurant is extremely clean and so are the washrooms. The choice of beverages is good as is the choice of desserts. The staff is terrific. Always so, so friendly!!! And efficient. It's a somewhat unorganized cafeteria style ordering and assembly line which you order and gets clogged up with people waiting on portions of their order even if u just want a sandwich and pay. Nobody dedicated to work the register the single person was packaging the unorganized portions together. There is just a disconnect between each station along the line. They should place an order and print out your order and send it down the assembly line instead you are stuck telling each person if you did or did not have soup or anything else etc. The food itself was not great. It's fresh but the bread it airy and flavorless (think mini 4" subway style bread) small portion sandwiches with skippy toppings. I had the gourmet vegetarian sandwich and what the website image portrays as a full slab of tofu was very different than them 3 mini cubes on either half of my sandwich I received. Basically they prepare things for salads and bowls not the sandwich and plop the little skimpy portions on your sandwich. If your not hungry it's fine but for a dinner style full meal it was disappointing. I know they are new and likely will improve the workflow process although I feel the pictures aren't representative of what you receive. And the two sandwiches we ordered were sitting waiting while the 8 people in front of us order more things and waiting for one person to package and finalizes all the meals and ring them up. It added an extra 10 minutes that was unnecessary for us to pay if they had a dedicated cashier we could have bypassed all those people, pay and leave. Sorry not sorry but not impressed. Zupas has a nice modern decor with good seating. They have lots of tables and booths as well as outside seating. The location is nice to walk around and next to a fountain. The food was very good. My husband whose a little picky said he would like to come back next week. I like that we got bread and a little desert with our soups and salads. Everything was pleasant except for the older women sitting at tables playing cards. We came on a Tuesday afternoon and there were four tables of older women and they were staring, constantly giving us looks throughout our 30mins of being there. My husband and I are an interracial couple with a toddler and we both felt very uncomfortable because of them. Very sad. read more

I finished all the soup, but threw in the towel before I finished my sandwich. My bill came to $10.76, which is a good value, considering the quantity and quality of food.
