I had the salad base with falafel, and a bunch of toppings like cabbage, couscous, hummus, cucumbers, and olives. Topped off with some red wine vinaigrette and a pita, and this was a top-notch quick meal. The salad base didn't even make it feel like a salad because there were so many other ingredients. This made for a delightful dish, with every spoonful being a burst of flavor. The pita was a little thick, which made it feel a little inauthentic. I love Roti! Like borderline obsessed. And I'm so glad to finally have a location up in Lincoln Park! When I lived out-of-state, one of the things I missed most was Roti's gluten free pita. The ingredients always taste fresh, and the wrap doesn't sit heavy in your stomach afterwards. The concept is basically like Chipotle, but Mediterranean. And they're super knowledgeable about switching up gloves for allergies! I came here the night of their soft opening and noticed so many other people had ordered the rice plates. I always feel guilty buying pre-made salads when I have the same ingredients in my own fridge, but Roti offered many interesting options that I don't have lying around. Favorite toppings included; roasted eggplant salad, hummus, picked onions and cous cous. I got cucumber dill yogurt and red pepper sauce to use as salad dressings and they both tasted super fresh and light. Ok, prices have gone up just like everything else. I ordered the street pita have the toppings that were offered are gone. They don't offer rice anymore, they give you very little protein and the use to give you a half pita but now they give a whole pita to make up for the loss. This was my favorite lunch spot in Chicago hands down. Could get a great meal for a very reasonable price. Now? They've completely changed the menu and it's nearly unrecognizable. They took away all of the good side options which provided so much flavor to the build your own bowls. The price has also significantly increased too unless you get premade bowls, which sucks because the best part about Roti was creating your own meal. I've seen this place spring up in a couple of different locations around the city, and now I understand why! They probably strongly dislike this comparison, but Roti very much reminds me of Chipotle, except it is Mediterranean-based instead of Mexican. It's also probably significantly healthier, since they offer so many different vegetables. I'll get to that in a bit! You have a choice of ordering a pre-designed pita/wrap, or designing your own. I would suggest making your own so you can sample the flavors you want. You can make a pita/wrap, a rice plate, or a salad plate. I made the rice plate, which reminds me of a burrito bowl. You have a choice of meat, such as chicken/steak roti, chicken kabobs, salmon kabobs, or falafel. Once you pick your meat (or falafel), you can pick sides to go with it. I was most impressed by how many mixed veggie/salad options you can choose from - so healthy! Plus, a lot of the veggie options are already seasoned or lightly drizzled with a dressing so they are flavorful. I chose to add in some couscous, tomato/cucumber Israeli salad, chicken kafta, and some feta cheese to sprinkle on top. There's plenty of other garnishes like olives, etc. Lastly, there's different dressings you can add on and there is a helpful table illustrating how spicy each one is. I picked the "cool" yogurt and dill mix, which reminds me of tzatziki. My rice plate came with a fresh pita on the side that you can eat plain or dip/stuff with items from your bowl. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and a very casual, relaxed atmosphere. I have to thank the restaurant for being very accommodating of my sesame allergy, which is often a problem with Mediterranean food. Not only did the man behind the counter walk me through every item behind the glass, he also gave me a nutritional guide with a helpful table highlighting allergens in different dishes. (The hummus is made in-house!) This is a great spot to get some healthy (and also good quality) fast food. I would definitely come back and hope they open up more locations across the US! read more

Man man man...Rōti is good but I would NOT suggest getting food from this location, especially on a Wednesday night like tonight. Issue 1 is that they ran out of Rōti bread and rice and had to make more, which is fine, but instead of telling customers that more had to be made, they were telling customers that they have none at all and that "if your order ain't up there for pick up, that means we have no rice." Issue 2 is that I asked for bread with my order. They said they didn't have any, which again was fine. But, when I had to go back in because they gave me somebody else's order, low-and-behold they have more bread. Before I could ask for it, the worker slammed the bread on the counter in front of me. Issue 3 is the biggest, and it's that about 8 people were in there for the same reasons - orders were backed up, misplaced, and/or being told that there was no more food items instead of being informed to wait on more to be made. Good grief. Shout out to the young man on the grill and the shift manager though, they are why this still gets 3 stars. read more

Absolutely delicious and one of my favorite lunch places during the work week. I'm a big fan of Roti, in general, but this location is especially nice. It's clean and modern inside, and they even have a little patio area that is surprisingly nice for a strip mall area. My go to food items are the chicken kabob plate or salad. One of the reasons I like it here so much is because they let you pick as many "extras" for toppings as you want. Some places limit or charge extra for an extra sauce or extra cucumber and tomatoes, but they don't do that here. The chicken is always well seasoned and cooked perfectly. If you get the salad, they let you pick whether you want it tossed or plated separately, which is a nice touch. I recommend the tossed option as it really brings the flavors togethers nicely. If you're looking for a quick and easy meal option (great for lunch or even a light dinner), this place is great! read more

Roit is my favorite lunch spot! This location is perfect for a healthy, after gym meal. When i first started eating at Roti, I played it safe and stuck with the salad with just chicken roti and some tomatoes & cucumbers. But as I got more comfortable with the menu and different toppings, I've moved to the rice bowl with chicken, slaw, couscous and more. I actually crave Roti almost several times a week and add something new to my plate every visit. But a rice plate with chicken and all the fixings can be over 2000 calories!
