Surprised my wife with a date night here since she's always wanted to try one of those rotary sushi spots, it was awesome! Parking was easy (big lot), and when we walked in, the conveyor bar wasn't too busy and the food was already making its way around. We usually order a roll right away when we go out for sushi, but here you can sit down and start grabbing plates right off the belt, which was super fun. They don't have a liquor license, but they do offer beers. Each plate comes with 3 pieces, so it's easy to try a bunch of different rolls without overdoing it. We even asked the sushi chef what was coming next and they were super friendly. If it were a little busier, I think the belt would stay even more full, but everything we had was fresh, tasty, and great quality. Overall, a really fun experience, over all I think we spent roughly $70 for two people, all the sushi, two miso soups, and two beers (1 large beer) which is on point what we usually spend when we go out for sushi. We'll definitely be back! read more

Rotary Sushi - Sushi Bars Near Me - Boise, Idaho

Rotary Sushi is a solid spot for sushi in the Boise area. The quality is good, fish tastes fresh, rice is well prepared, and everything feels clean and properly handled. For this style of sushi, it delivers. Service was friendly and attentive. Staff checked in regularly and were quick to help with special orders or questions. My only real critique is selection at certain times. When the restaurant is not very full, the conveyor belt can feel a little limited. That said, this is understandable. You cannot reasonably keep every option circulating if there are fewer diners, and made to order options help fill the gaps. Overall, good sushi, good service, and a fun experience. A reliable choice locally and one I would happily return to. read more

We thought we would try this because we have been to Rotary sushi places in other states that were fantastic. The reviews looks like they were OK, I had called three different times to ask if they had beer and wine they told me, yes. When we arrived, I went to order a wine, that's when I was told they only had plum wine, which I don't care for. So I decided that I would just have iced tea, I will tell you that the service was not great. The food was not impressive at all and looked nothing like the pictures you see here that they have posted themselves. I can't say much for the ambience, it was so so. We will definitely not be going back. There are much better, sushi places in the Boise area. read more

Got there late, it was 8:30 pm and they close at 9 but they sat me down and made fresh sushi for me and it was great quality and fresh.

Watching the sushi roll by is very therapeutic. It's nice you just pay for what you eat since AYCE can feel like a trap when you don't finish everything. Everyone was nice here and I'll definitely be going back. I wish I lived closer because I was craving this the other day. read more

I usually over indulge when I go to an all-you-can-eat sushi place. But because this is a "by the plate" restaurant I was able to get lots of variety and not push my stomach to the brink. I really enjoyed the variety offered as well as the quality and freshness of the rolls. My waitress was very pleasant and didn't rush me through my meal. read more

I was visiting for the weekend and we tried this place out. The conveyor belt sushi restaurants no longer exist in my area, so it was fun to do again. Their prices are very reasonable, the portions are large, and the fish was fresh. You can order specific conveyor belt offerings or order directly from their menu. I look forward to going again. read more

I would not expect to have a nice sushi in Boise! But I guess I was wrong. Since it is the during the pandemic they sushi rotary thing does not work, but you can still somehow do single order from the menu. Usually when I have sushi, Nigiri is a way for me to see whether the restaurant knows what they are doing. Nigiri would show you how fresh the fish is, chef cutting skill and also how they do the rice. The service was good and fish was good too. The price is quite reasonable to be honest. Totally would love to visit again. Parking is easy! It is clean as well. Ps, saw some reviews saying sushi here is expensive. Seafood is something that you get what you pay for. A lot of sushi restaurant used frozen fish, and they have to u less they are near the coast, and still it would cost you a lot. I know some restaurants in Utah air shipping their seafood, and you would be looking at 100 dollars per meal for quality of food. Good food doesn't always have to be expensive but I think the price is fair for the quality that I got from this restaurant. read more

First time dining at Rotary Sushi. I was very much impressed with the freshness of the ingredients and the spot on flavors of the sushi. We ordered the vegetable tempura and a round of delicious miso soup to start us off. All very well prepared, but the star of the show was the never ending conveyor belt of fantastic sushi options. Let me also say, that for the amount of sushi and sides we ate, the price was surprisingly low. The wait staff and the chefs were very attentive and helpful. I'll definitely come back the next time I'm in town. What a local gem establishment. read more

I'm picky about my sushi and it's always fresh, I love how you can order almost anything off the regular menu to be put on the rotary and not be stuck with a whole roll if you end up not liking it. LOVE how I can walk in, sit down and immediately begin eating!! My favorite sushi spot, don't be thrown off by any bad reviews, been there dozens of times and never had a bad experience. read more

Rolls are bigger than expected. Service was good. You can order any roll to be made and served on a colored plate. Each color plate signifies the price of that roll. I saw that most of the stuff put out were on the higher priced side but they were really good rolls. Once we got full the chefs starting putting out the extra delicious rolls! I wanted to eat them but I was too full so time your visit accordingly. We'll be back to eat again soon. read more

I tried the crazy roll, the roll had a horribly creamy texture, due to them using way too much avocado, there was a strong lemon flavor to the sushi that made it worse, and a 1 inch layer on top of imitation crab. To make it worse, the tuna and salmon was pretty much not there with how little they put on there All of the sushi on the rotary belt was noticeably lower quality and made worse than the sushi you order. Stick to your gimmick! Why even have a rotary belt anymore if you're gonna barely out food out on it, and put the worst stuff there. I ordered a tuna nigiri off the menu and it had a normal amount of tuna, I saw a tuna nigiri on the rotary belt, and it was paper thin, I get fish is expensive, but wow! Do you guys have no consideration for the customer, worse is that it's the same price as the one on the normal menu. If you're gonna give no fucks about the rotary part of your restaurant. Yk the restaurant called "rotary sushi" then get rid of the rotary gimmick. The items on the menu make it clear they clearly don't care about their customers and serve the most Americanized horrific trash because it's cheaper, and they can make more of a profit overcharging for imitation crab and WACKY GIMMICK SUSHI. I don't want deep fried imitation crab no fish sushi. You have such a missed opportunity to be an actually good sushi place, but instead you dumb it down with stupid gimmicks that boggle your place down. Horrific marketing. A terrible name, and a lack of commitment. Fuck you read more

Best sushi in the valley for sure! Owner is attentive, friendly, and wants to make sure you're happy. The crazy roll, sumo roll, and rock n roll are my favorites! You can eat at the bar or get a table. The lights and atmosphere are fun too. Definitely highly recommended! read more

Staff was very friendly when we picked up our to-go sushi. I got the rainbow roll, Alaska roll and salmon roll. Pretty basic. I definitely ate all of it! The rice was really good; I've had awful rice with sushi in the past. It was good for quick takeout--it wasn't the best sushi I've ever had, but it wasn't bad either. I'd go back and maybe stick to two rolls. They definitely have a very extensive menu. I'm not a cream-cheese fan when it comes to sushi, but if you are, there are plenty of options. read more

Service was on point, sushi chef Kevin is a cool guy to talk with. I got the Fire Paradise roll! Which do not get higher than a 3/5 hot level! I love super spicy stuff and man that was hot. If you want a spicy challenge get 5/5 if you think you are stronger enough! I definitely will be back because of my experience. Food quality was also really fresh! I will recommend this place to all my friends and family. read more

This was our first time going to Rotary Sushi. My husband loves Sushi however I like tempura more. He ordered the Jalapeño Bomb and the waitress asked what level of heat did he want on a scale of 1-5. Well, usually he likes things really hot however he elected to order level 3. Thank goodness the man making the sushi for him suggested he start at level 1, since he had never even tried these rolls before. My husband went thru 4 Pepsi's getting down those hot little rolls. They were absolutely delicious and he said some of the best Sushi he had ever had. The waitress was very attentive to us and greeted us when we walk in the door. We will definitely be going back here to enjoy another meal. read more

We hit them late on a Monday. 8:30pm so sushi buffet closing down. We could still order off the menu. We were tired so we just grabbed stuff off the buffet (rotary). We really liked everything we tried and would definitely come back earlier. It's hard to know what you're getting, but they were helpful in letting us know. We were both full for $38 so these days that's a decent price. I suspect another trip would up my review to a 4. Will let you know. read more

Finally a legitimate Korean bbq place in the treasure valley. The food was great and the atmosphere was nice.

Given the rarely of such a place in Idaho, I gotta give it credit. The food was fresh and on par with other sushi locations in the valley. Pricing was also fair. Not given the full 5 due to a few issues: 1) The location feels a bit long in the tooth... everything is a bit worn and the staff does not seem motivated (but they are professional which goes a long way) 2) Menu is plain Jane. Some of this is typical with conveyor belt places - you need the staples. But nothing is peppered through making the options unique, nor is there much emphasis from the chef to push/engage the customers 3) cream cheese.... Too much cream cheese (a common Idaho problem. That stated.... We had a fun time and will be back. I hope this location remains successful and builds itself to the next level! read more

I read all the reviews and decided to try this place. It was my mom's 81st b-day and she loves sushi. Also took my 11 yr old for her first sushi experience, she is now a fan. Not enough good things to say about this place. The staff were awesome, especially our waitress. She was very sweet and had a great sense of humor. She kept our drinks and plates full. We didn't wait long for our food. And it was all very, very good. It takes two hours round trip to get there and we will definitely be regulars from now on. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for delicious fresh sushi. read more

We came here wanting to drink hot sake and have food. Our server said they only have cold sake and not hot. If they have cold sake they can make it hot. Most sushi places microwaves the sake to make it hot. I asked if she can microwave our hot sake but she snapped and said it'll take over 5 mins. I don't think I was asking much to microwave our sake for 45 seconds to 1 min. Service was terrible read more

We came here to enjoy some great sushi and hot sake. The server came out and sat us at the bar, but when we ordered hot sake she said there was no hot sake only cold. Later when she brought out the sake we asked if she was perhaps able to microwave it to make it hot, she said she could but it would be 5 minutes. In addition, she never once asked to take our order further as we wanted to eat off the menu not from the rotary bar. We just drank our cold sake and left to Wasabi. read more

This place was recommended by a coworker so I thought I'd stop in one night after work. The restaurant had one couple at the bar and was quiet as a tomb otherwise. The 1st thing you notice as you enter is a big conveyor belt with small plates of sushi going round and round and the sushi chef in the center. I sat down and after about 7 mins I was approached by the server. She asked for my drink order and left. I reached for some prawns off of the belt and bit in. Ice cold! Not off to the best start...but I kept trying. I asked the server when she returned if the shrimp was supposed to be cold hoping to get fresh. She asked if I wanted it warmed up. Really!?! I requested fresh and was brought two shrimp tempura and two veggie tempura pieces instead of the three prawns I had originally grabbed off the belt. But at least it was fresh and hot! I ordered a roll from the sushi chef who barely said 2 words to me through the whole experience. I was a little disappointed that he wasn't very forthcoming with descriptions when I asked him about the items that were passing before me and off the menu. Later I found out why, he really doesn't know much about what he's serving you. When asked what kind of salmon was in a particular type of roll he went into the kitchen and brought out a piece and said this kind. He had no idea what kind of salmon was on that roll. Sadly I had to order off the menu because the one attempt I made to try sushi from that belt was sad. It was old and warm. I sat in there for an hour and never saw him put anything fresh up on that belt once. I've read others raving about the presentation but what I got was sushi on a plate with no presentation. Just plain sushi on a plain plate. Their prices are too high for what you get in my opinion. Of course my opinion won't be taking me back there again. read more

I dont think this is the best Sushi place in the area but its not the worse. Definitely worth a try. I opted for a few of the rotary plate options while my wife placed an order for sushi made to order. Hers was better than mine, Not saying mine had been sitting out for a while but who knows? Its just the nature of the "rotary sushi". If I went back I would order from the menu instead. Waitress and service are okay. Prices average for the area for sushi I would say. read more

Good sushi, fun environment but way overpriced! If you were to add up what your paying for a couple pieces, makes a simple roll out to be like $14. My son had a lot of fun with the belt though, so maybe worth the experience. read more

Not amazing selection. Limited seating, and the price for a half roll was too high. Not worth the money and atmosphere was bad.

Simpler rolls are offered via conveyor belt but they are still great rolls with awesome flavor. Had a great time here!

Highly disappointing. I came here because I like the conveyor belt style sushi restaurant. I know the quality in conveyor belt places isn't as good as you get in a traditional sushi places, but I like that they give you the chance to try a lot of different rolls. I came in and watched two sushi chefs slowly fill take out orders while the same three plates went around the track for thirty minutes. I had a few made to order rolls which were ok, but the conveyor belt was a bust. The whole time I was there they put maybe three plates on the belt. read more
