I had a really frustrating experience with a this local towing company. $393.98 for a tow! And got…read moreanother local towing company to pick up and deliver to the mechanic for 1/4 the cost! (Sadly, one of our young homeless youth witnessed how the interaction ended. She leaned over and said, "If you were a man, that guy would have never talked to you that way." That comment will always sit with me.) I called around 2 PM Friday trying to take care of a bill. I was told I would get a call back at 4:30 PM because the office person was out. That call never came. So I called back at 5 PM and was told they were not going back into the office. It was already 5:05 and I was told I would have to wait until Monday. I asked what the overnight charge would be and was told $15.00. I asked if that charge could be waived because I had called earlier that day to settle the payment, and I explained this was for a nonprofit organization doing our best to use local businesses. By Monday morning, somehow that turned into $45 a night for a nonprofit. That part really did not sit right with me. Sadly, one of our young homeless youth witnessed how the interaction ended. She leaned over and said, "If you were a man, that guy would have never talked to you that way." That comment will always sit with me. Women, always know where your voice is and speak up. If that means taking it further, do it. Whether that is through the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission or the New Mexico Department of Transportation. And don't get me started on the 4% credit card fee charge for a debit card!!!

I cannot thank the team here enough for their assistance. I'm on a very long road trip, solo with…read moremy dog. My check tire light came on en route to Roswell. Every time this happens it's been a nail or gash in my tire. Needless to say, I didn't want to continue driving hundreds of miles so I went to Lykins first thing in the morning. Folks, the positive reviews are legit. They looked at my car right away and I was out of there Jess than an hour later. Turns out it was just a tire pressure issue, which they resolved for me. And guess what? No charge. Everyone was so kind and friendly and even gave me a tip on where to walk my dog while we waited. Thank you so much Alexis & Skye

I visited Lykins Tire to purchase a new set of tires for my truck, and from start to finish the…read moreexperience was nothing short of frustrating and costly. First Visit - Damaged Rim: * The initial set of tires ordered would not mount on my existing rims, despite being the same exact size/brand as the ones before. They suggested I leave my truck overnight for them to sort it out, mentioned the cold from the snow that day could be affecting the elasticity of the rubber. Only to discover the next day that they'd attempted to force the tires on with a hammer-leaving a deep dent around the bead seating area. * The manager acknowledged the damage and offered either a full repair or a discount. Feeling stranded without my truck for a week for repairs, I reluctantly accepted a discount rather than leave it parked. Second Visit - Even Worse Damage: * Two weeks later, I returned to swap out the tires for a different brand recommended by the manager. When I picked up my truck, two rims were cracked. * Instead of taking responsibility, the manager flatly accused me of causing the damage myself. I repeatedly explained the rims had been intact when I dropped the truck off, but was dismissed until a friend intervened-and only then did the manager grudgingly admit his team was at fault. Bottom Line: I paid for professional service and ended up with three ruined rims. Between the botched tire installs, the hammer damage, and the outright denial of responsibility, I felt completely disrespected as a customer. I cannot recommend Lykins Tire to anyone looking for reliable, honest work-save yourself the hassle (and the repair bill) and go elsewhere.

Not wanting to bother anyone I knew who could give me a jump due to it being the middle of the work…read moreday, I decided to report a dead battery in my Jeep on the AAA app. The first AAA guy that called me said they would tow my Jeep to some shop I ain't ever heard of and it would take a couple of hours for this to happen. Lol. This is what happens when you pay for a AAA membership, but live in a small town such as Hobbs, NM. You get some guy from Albuquerque or maybe Las Cruces who doesn't know anything about this side of the state & didn't read the messages I submitted through the app. I told him exactly what I wanted to happen and a tow was unnecessary since he seemed clueless. I hadn't even used my AAA membership since August 2019 but have been paying for it annually, so I was highly frustrated with this first rep. A few moments later - just as I was about to call and complain about the first rep - I got another call from a different AAA rep explaining he saw the order go through, but didn't understand why a tow was necessary and asked if I just wanted a jump. We both had a good chuckle because it was like the first guy didn't even read my message or listen to my request. Lea County Roadside was assigned to my case. Within less than 15 minutes of a separate call from LCR, Tyler was in front of my house with his tow truck. Very nice young man. He explained everything... He brought his fancy little jumper box up to my Jeep sitting in my garage. Took photos. Recorded my mileage. Snapped photos of my AAA card and my ID. (This is the usual process.) Clamped it. Told me to fire it up. Took 5 minutes. Jeep started up and I headed down the highway to Interstate Battery. I'm not sure how much they would charge on a normal basis for this type of service. Highly recommend LCR for jump starts!

Aiden, the tow truck operator, arrived with full empathy for our situation. He was personable, kind and very professionally loaded our truck on his flatbed truck. The 100 mile drive to Artesia, NM was quite pleasant in the comfortably riding cab for my wife and I as we conversed with the fine young man Aiden. Should your needs require a towing service in the Hobbs-Carlsbad area we give our highest recommendation for Lea County Towing.
