The waiting area has a flat screen and is very comfortable, but I was not waiting for more than a few minutes. The examining rooms also have cable TV Dr. Roland took lots of time to explain my treatment options and costs and Elizabeth (Technician) was very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Dr. Roland was not rough at all, and the whole experience was pain free. While not the least expensive in town, Austin Dental definitely takes time to make sure your treatment plan makes sense and your teeth look good. They spent a lot of time making sure that my temporary crown looked nice. Cost for Exam, X-rays, Root Canal with Porcelain Crown (plus temp), 2 fillings, and scaling was about $2800. They gladly take most insurance as out of network as well as payment plans or Capitol One Health Care Loans.

According to her, he has pulled every wisdom tooth in Westlake for the last 20 years. I have no facts to back that up, just what I have heard. Anyway, I went in for my consultation. (I love docs that take the time to discuss a procedure with you before you actually have it done) He suggested that I have just a local anesthesia since we were only pulling one tooth. When he saw the look of fear in my face, he immediately said, "But how about we just put you under?" YES! Thank you. Dr. Perkins is very sweet and personally called me that evening to see how I was feeling. The next day, I had trouble getting my wound to stop bleeding and his staff called me every half hour offering suggestions and checking on me until it stopped. So if you are looking for an oral surgeon in the area, I would highly recommend him.

When I called for the consultation, the receptionist also booked my surgery for the following day. So, between seeing Dr. Tyree and Dr. Perkins, I only had to wait a week! I hate having to wait for an appointment. The consult was pretty straight forward. The dental assistant put on a video that described the process, Dr. Perkins came in and answered my questions, and wrote prescriptions for pain and antibiotics. He was even able to move my surgery up an hour and a half so I wouldn't be hungry all day. (I had a light IV sedation.) The day of surgery, I was seen quickly, changed into a Hill Country Oral Surgery T-shirt and taken back to the room where the procedure was done. Even though I had a light sedation, I was completely knocked out. I don't remember anything about the procedure. All I know is, I woke up, and my teeth were gone! The after care nurse was very kind and explained everything to me and my boyfriend for what I needed to do when I got home. Once I was ready, she wheeled me out to the car. Dr. Perkins called to check on me later that day, which was a nice touch. But, the best part is I had very little pain after the surgery. I think I took pain meds for about a day and after that I didn't need them. That really speaks to the skill of Dr. Perkins.

Called the Doctor here in the morning and had X-Rays done and both teeth pulled within a few hours. This Doc seems to be on a mission to provide reasonably priced dental care in the Austin area and I'm onboard. Hope he never goes out of business, gave a $100 tip also as an expression of gratitude for his professionalism and for what he's doing for this city. Thanks again, Doc, and thanks again to the Doc's assistant. Austin would be very much worse off without this Doc's dedication to his practice. I feel so much better already too. One thing I'll note is the Doc is very honest and direct and I like that because I'm exactly like that too but if you're one of those people that like things verbose and sugar coated and enjoy beating around the bush, you may be confused here as most medical places tend to hire admin people to beat around the bush and be indirect and that's not the case here, if you ask the doc a question he'll give you a straight answer, he knows his stuff and he'll tell you exactly what's up and you may or may not like the answer but that's on you, I prefer my Doctors honest so I loved it here. Great Doc, totally satisfied.

They then went so far as to get the procedure pre-approved through my insurance, even though I did not ask them to do that. Overall, Dr. Knobles is a very skilled dentist and a very nice person, but I didn't like having a new hygienist every visit, and I really didn't like them pushing me to have a procedure I don't need and contacting my insurance company for pre-approval without my authorization.

THANK YOU DR. FARST!!…read more I went to Rose Dental in Round Rock last year and was told that I had $2800 worth of dental work that I needed. I couldn't believe that I would ever need 4 crowns, a two-step deep cleaning, and that I had a cavity on top of all that. I just felt like something wasn't right. Unfortunately, I had to wait several months until my insurance changed before I could see an out-of-network dentist. It was so worth the wait. I went to see Dr. Farst thinking that I had atleast a few issues going on with my teeth. the hygenist took my digital x-rays, then only recommended a regular cleaning on my teeth. She promptly cleaned my teeth, and the polished them. Dr. Farst came in and evaluated my x-rays, and said that I looked fine, and only recommended that we keep an eye on one tooth in the future for a crown, and I did not have a cavity. I was so grateful. I am going to keep going back. It is a great office with great staff. I couldn't have been more pleased. I thank them for their honesty!! DON'T EVER USE ROSE DENTAL. I understand he picked Dr. Pevzner to take over much like Dr. Edson's predecessor, Dr. Dave Jackson picked Dr. Edson. That worked for us last time as I wanted a conservative dentist who is interested in preserving what we have versus replacing too quickly. Before finding this office I had a dentist who told me I needed a number of crowns. Well 35 years later I am scheduled to get the last of those crowns. Most I didn't need for 10+ years! So I want a dentist who takes care of patients needs first over filing their coffers. I'm hoping Dr. Jackson chose Dr. Pevzner with this in mind. I have had my teeth cleaned and a cavity was found under a filling. I had it filled by Dr. Pevzner. It was the most painless - yes PAINLESS- procedure I've ever had. It seems like there is always some pain with the injection at least THERE WAS NONE! I didn't even know they did the injection! The doctor was concerned about how close the cavity was to the nerve..aughhhhh root canal possibility! He took it slow and easy and that was avoided. My tooth is filled and my bite is nice. I think this new doctor for me is going to work out!
