Having undergone 13 surgeries (today would have been my 14th), I know how medical facilities operate--and balance billing is an old, ugly trick I'm all too familiar with. After filling out endless online registration forms (seriously, "War and Peace" level paperwork), I still had more forms to complete when I arrived. I even planted the seed with the front desk, verifying I was in-network. They confirmed I was. But once I was called back--SURPRISE!--I was suddenly told I'm NOT in-network. This, after they had days to verify my insurance and contact me. Oh, and they casually mentioned they "don't verify insurance in-house." Based on Yelp reviews, this is a pattern with this office. Their billing practices are shady, misleading, and, in my experience, downright fraudulent. Now, I'm in intense pain, scrambling to find an actual in-network oral surgeon--meanwhile, UnitedHealthcare's provider directory is about 10% accurate (being generous). HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Grace (I hope I remembered that correctly), his nurse/assistant was also so warm, patient, attentive, and helpful! A few times while sitting in the waiting room, several patients have shared their stories of past experiences with other oral surgeons and discussed the vast improvements in their oral health once they found Dr. Quaroni. Whereas U.S. medical doctors seem to view patients as mere business customers more often, and don't bother to check up on them or treat them as equals, Dr. Quaroni is an exception to this decline of patient care and is, instead, exemplary in his care and treatment of his patients. I found Hill Country Oral Surgery on Yelp and Google and decided to give it a try. The office is clean and modern, with comfortable seating, Wi-Fi, and even a mini fridge stocked with water. The entire staff was amazing--from day one they made sure I had all the information I needed, and they were super helpful in checking in after the procedure to make sure I was doing well. Dr. Cavaretta really listened to my concerns, and because I was anxious, we chose to go the anesthesia route. Lizette and George (the day-of care team) were fantastic and made me feel completely at ease throughout. I was in and out quickly and am already anticipating a smooth recovery. Hopefully there won't be a next time, but if there is--I'm definitely coming back here!

She is honest, and caring and kind and personable. I look forward to have my treatment plan done by her and I despise the dentist! I now have a gap between my teeth, a chipped tooth to one side (see photo) and they charged me almost 3k not including what they took from my insurance. They told me w/out the gum surgery 5k (most Americans don't have 1k extra just laying around in this economy let alone 5k!) then I would need to do a deep clean and since it was not enough time since my last one it would be only another almost 1k out of pocket! Ended up going from oh you need a crown! To oh you need a root canal...instead of waiting to see if I would continue to get the crown they sent it out w/out my consent so they could sneakily charge me and justify there actions I decided against the root canal due to the extremely expensive price...they ended up saying "well well you kinda got a service and then found out the greedy money hungry owner ended up deciding to not refund me anything saying "well you had a service you can come in and I will be gracious enough to see you" when I had already said I had decided to go to Mexico where it's safe and way less than what they are charging here. In short don't give them your money they will make your teeth worse and then if you don't have the money they will say welp that sucks to be you! Avoid at all costs and if you are autistic know they will take advantage of you. Also they have multiple locations so if you go to another location with Omni know you will get the same service.

So after a recommendation, I decided to reach out to Dr. Largent's office and see if I could get my wisdom teeth out pretty soon from the time of the call. They not only got me seen right away for a consultation, but then I was able to be seen for the extractions right away (which I needed with my busy schedule and the amount of pain I had been experiencing). Not only was I treated incredibly well, but also after talking to Dr. Largent and his staff, all my anxieties about getting the teeth removed were also removed :) The following week, I had the extraction, and it was incredible. I mean extractions are not fun experiences, and I had a minor anxiety attack, and Dr. Largent and his team immediately helped me breathe and feel relaxed. I was definitely freaking out and they made me feel better and not embarrassed. The extraction was easy and the recovery process was even easier. They not only made the experience wonderful, professional, and memorable, but also we got to talk about music (he's a musician!) and they made the whole surgery super affordable for me (they truly took care of everything!) I can't recommend them enough. Grateful for them, wish I went to them when I had my lower widsom teeth extracted! Love y'all forever!

This, other than my ill advised trip to Mexico was by far my worst dental experience ever. Walking through the door and entering the office was as step back in time, the 2 rows of too many black metal chairs, the filthy gray or was it brown carpet; the TV blaring and tuned to Judge freaking Judy; the grimy plexiglass sliding window separating me from 2 receptionist and an office In astonishing disarray, where manila patient files were sloppily sliding out of the open shelves that were their home, and the same filthy carpet was screaming to be vacuumed. And...still I pressed on pushing back the desire to flee. I took my chances in the bath room...gross! I'd been waiting 20 minutes when my patience (pun intended) began to wear thin: My appointment was at 2:30, I phoned at 2:25 saying I was going to be a few minutes late (fail on my part for being even 5 minutes late); The receptionist inquired how late, her tone implying that my tardiness was putting them out. I said Les than 5 . She said ok. At 3:05 I calmly pointed out to the receptionist that my appointment was at 2:30, that it was now 3:05, and asked what was happening, She looked at me, as if my presence was unexpected and she said "oh "walked away and a few minutes later someone came to get me, no apology or explanation, just an escort down the grimy hallway into an open dental suite where the first thing I noticed was the scotch tape wrapped around the arm of the X-ray machine barely holding it together. nothing about the dental instruments on the tray next to the chair looked sanitary, there was a barely folded blue rag of the sort you buy at Autozone tossed on top of them! There were brown drip trails running down the walls and once white machines now grayish with grime, the corners and surfaces of the dental chair and tray were visibly dirty, even the silver tray on which the dental instruments were laid out had visible dirt in its corners. And having waited all this time, I still persevered. The dental assistant had a a very difficult time taking my e-rays, and made no attempt to talk me through the process. When the dentist came in, she was a sweet elderly woman that immediately made me feel better for her warmth, and then she spent 3 minutes looking in my mouth before declaring I needed to see the periodontists without so much as a single inspection of my gums or measurement of my "pockets". Typically a baseline measure of the health of your gums . She seemed unsure of the things she saw on my X-rays , and was obviously only interested in moving me along to the periodontal deep cleaning for which they could bill me and my insurance company above and beyond the fully covered regular cleaning. I could go on, but you get the point. Needless to say, I declined to schedule my deep cleaning with their periodontal specialist and I ran. I should've asked for my co-pay back I wanted to ask for my co pay back but really what I wanted to do more, was leave. Omni dental is a far cry from the sleek and modern picture they paint on their website! Which is what lured me in, that and there immediate availability for an appointment which should have been my first clue that something was a miss.
