I was very nervous about having my wisdom teeth removed, but ultimately really just wanted to get it over with.

Other oral surgeons I had met with did not have a good bedside manner. Dr. Tadros was completely different: kind, gentle, listened and addressed my fears and confident (as he should be.) I chose to be awake during the procedure. The shots were not painful. It took seconds for him to pull the teeth. I highly recommend him for any oral surgery needs you have and might have been putting off. .

I found Hill Country Oral Surgery on Yelp and Google and decided to give it a try. The office is clean and modern, with comfortable seating, Wi-Fi, and even a mini fridge stocked with water. The entire staff was amazing--from day one they made sure I had all the information I needed, and they were super helpful in checking in after the procedure to make sure I was doing well. Dr. Cavaretta really listened to my concerns, and because I was anxious, we chose to go the anesthesia route. Lizette and George (the day-of care team) were fantastic and made me feel completely at ease throughout. I was in and out quickly and am already anticipating a smooth recovery. Hopefully there won't be a next time, but if there is--I'm definitely coming back here!

She is very…read morepatient and knowledgeable and answered all our preliminary questions before even booking an appointment and she continued to be so helpful during the whole 3 week process of the initial phone call to consult to surgery. She even called me back after office hours after I left my first message and helped us get the ball rolling. She definitely went above and beyond. Thank you Mona!! My 22 yr old daughter needed an extraction with graft/implant along with recommending all 4 wisdom teeth be removed. We opted to only have the one removed next to the graft and they honored our wishes without berating us. I had done a lot of research on pros and cons of wisdom teeth removal so I fully expected based on others experience with other surgeons to have them really insist all 4 be done now but we felt it was best to wait and see. My daughter ended up having to go to the Westlake office for the surgery bc of scheduling. She had the procedure on Friday and today is post op day 4 and she is doing wonderful! She has had very little pain. She followed all their post op instructions carefully and also did a lot of things to boost her immune system/healing such as supplements and good nutrition. I was super happy to find out Dr R does PRF (platelet rich fibrin placement) into the extracted area which I think also really helps the healing process. I also know having a skilled surgeon is why she is healing well with little pain. She has to of course wait for the implant in several months but so far so good. I'll try to remember to update down the road but so far so good. Thank you to Dr Rasmussen and team.

Jack M. Austin, TX 0…read more2 1/24/2022 Definitely a NO-GO in my book! If you are looking for an oral surgeon that knew months in advance what you would need (Seton hospital has requirements that Hill Country Oral Surgery knows about and knew and that is where Rasmussen does oral surgery, yet waits until the very last weekend before surgery for his staff to inform you that this has to be done and that has to be done? YOU have found the right place! You would think when you get the papers at the office during the consultation months before the operation was to happen of what to watch for AFTER the operation has been performed that they would also have you sign a release of medical information form and run it through VA, as well as have a paper telling someone about Seton's requirements, but no, nothing of the sort. Hill Country Oral Surgery is so on it, NOT! I'm 100% perm and total through VA for Desert Storm, Veterans Affairs, and it was a major surgical contract and VA pays fast now. This is all documented on my Facebook with photos and e-mails and tags, look up Jack Morris of Austin, Texas area. Blue suit and champagne in my profile picture. It is wide open for public view and I do not present fake stuff. My surgery was scheduled for Jan 12th (I had to explain to VA to please cancel my primary care at VA as I was scheduled for community care, which VA knew about and authorized yet Hill Country Oral Surgery was not so good at following up on, so there went my primary care appt at VA. But VA did me righteous. BTW Hill Country Oral thinks the 12th is the 11th, even Seton got the date and time right on their heads up to me, but again, only two days notice from Seton hospital? Shame on the whole deal with Seton too. Ellie called on the 11th and left a message saying that she needed to hear from me. You know where I was? Getting an "mission impossible" appointment with a resident doctor at VA on one day before surgery and I told her "Please! It is not my fault, I got notified of this and that on Friday January 7th by Hill Country Oral Surgery and like, my surgery is scheduled for tomorrow!" All missions got accomplished against impossible odds on Jan 10th and 11th at the VA clinic. What did I find in my e-mail box when I got home at almost noon sharp on the 11th, one day before my surgery? A cancellation e-mail at 11:53 on Jan 11th from Ellie and then to top that they were very wrong and somewhat snobbish about it? Said they had cancelled my appt for surgery and that I would have to get it done by VA. Shows what they know. Community care at VA saw the proof of Hill Country Oral Surgery and what they did vs what I was doing to "get er done" and it has been reinstated. A resident of Sunset Valley recommended the business partner today on Jan 24th, 2022, and that would be Dr. Cavaretta, so I was willing to reach out with the olive branch, and you know what the receptionist did? Talked to Dr. Rasmussen when I explicitly asked for Dr. Cavaretta, and Dr. Rasmussen could not even have the decency to speak with me over the phone, told the receptionist, tell Jack to go to the VA. Well, I have that option, as well as a civilian contract from anywhere from at least $20,000 to $30,000! And trust me, even foreign dentists were telling me please come here Jack! That is a lot of money! We will take care of you in Mexico (I lived there for two years) and even the Russians (I've been around this world in the military and know people) were foaming at the mouth wanting that contract. Unfortunately VA does not cover foreign medical except emergency care internationally, but for the folks at Hill Country Oral Surgery that was not what I heard at Hill Country Oral Surgery during consultation months ago. To them, it is just "to keep busy" money. Business must be booming with COVID and all that and I guess $20k to $30K is nothing for a few hours worth of "work." That "keep busy" money pays the bills dude. Y'all are free to go where ever, that is your personal right, I'm into the Constitution myself having served in the medical field alongside Harvard and Georgetown university graduate who are still practicing medicine even now. I've never seen a botched consultation and not letting the patient know the precise requirements with Seton and others months in advance, especially when I had everything done as requested. Also shop around, I had plenty of choices and regret going with Hill Country Oral Surgery. I highly recommend Dental Carus of Westlake Hills, and also research a Dr. Yu and associates. He and his staff get involved ASAP with patients! They even called me back to to let me know what they would have needed prior to a surgery! Also, Dr. Rasmussen is Jay Rasmussen I believe? I'm looking at the non medical bill that VA sent me fast. Jay billed VA $380.00 for maybe 30 minutes of consultation at that. VA is medical, so they know the reasonable cost of such things. Jay got paid $340.77, see the difference? As some people at VA told me Jay

Dental House I was a…read morenew patient at Dental House back in the summer of 2022 with Dr. Tiffany Paiva. I neglected my teeth during the pandemic and needed a lot of deep cleaning and work done - including a crown. After my initial check up, X-rays, and deep cleaning Dr. Paiva and I discussed steps going forward. I explained my lifestyle which involves a 100% travel job - currently working in NYC the majority of my time. I'm only home in Austin every other weekend. Since offices are open weekends, I always have to make way advanced flight reservations to be available on a weekday in Austin. In order to best approach my dental care, I asked Dr. Paiva for the office to provide a list of all necessary procedures, ranked in priority, so that I could take care of them piece meal. And hopefully get everything done within a few months. This also was a sizable total cost, even after insurance, and easier for me to pay in smaller chunks. Dr. Paiva continued to insist I take care of everything in as soon as possible - within a couple weeks. She refused to listen to me that this request was impossible, mostly because of my out of state work; I already had my flights booked a month in advance. I had to repeat myself at least 4 times on why this would not work. Dr. Paiva's response to me was "It sounds to me that what you're saying is that your work is more important than your health". How dare she! I've never been so disrespected by a health provider. Even though I had one more follow up appointment, I knew in that moment I would not be going back to Dr. Paiva again. The Dental office did, however, draw up a list of procedures ranked in priority, like I had asked. My overall assessment: the office is nice, friendly and respectable, along with using equipment that appears to be top notch. Dr. Paiva is knowledgeable and "generally" friendly. But she demonstrated complete disregard for my circumstance and outright disrespected me in the most infuriating way. For this reason I will never step foot in her office again. Since then, I have switched to another nearby, respectful dentist.
