The best!!!! Look no further than Ross painting. They are professional and know what they're doing! You won't get the cheapest quote from them but you will get QUALITY. When it comes to investing in your home, go with a company like them who have been around for 40 years. They know what they are doing and have the experience to back it up. I will recommend them to everyone. read more

I noticed other reviews are all either 1 star or 5 stars. I must say my experienced was excellent. $200 est. charge, no problem as they told me in advance. Ross in San Rafael was only company certified with the European paint system willing to come to S.F. Price was what I expected. They were totally professional, polite & gentlemen. I would recommend. read more

I recently moved my business to Novato. I had very little time from when I got the keys to when movers shifted all of our warehouse to the new location. The concrete on the floor looked terrible. I reached out to Ross Painting to see if they could fix up our floor with an epoxy finish. They showed me samples, explained the process very clearly and had a quote to me by the end of the day. The next day they started the work and did a phenomenal job. Edgard had it friend down and refinished in 2 days. I love the new finish. This should last us a lifetime and I don't have to worry about moving any of our equipment ever to redo the floor. Great value. Here's a few before and after photos. read more

Ross Painting may want to consider renaming the company "Garage Magic." Rather than a national or regional chain, Ross Painting is locally owned and operated. You will likely meet Dan Ross, the owner, and a super-nice and honest guy. Right after a big remodel, we undertook the task of protecting the garage floor while it was still in pristine condition. Dan explained the variety of floor coatings, defining the pros and cons of each. We chose the poly-aspartic coating, as it is more durable than epoxy and not that much more expensive. He even took the time to help choose one of the many color options available. On the day of the scheduled work, Dan's team, including Edgard and a couple other guys, arrived on time (early even!) and began the project. Even though it was new cement, the floor required some light grinding as preparation. After the prep, they thoroughly cleaned the floor and then applied the substrate, color chips and top coat. Just as promised, they were done by the end of the day, and like magic, my garage floor was transformed. With the help of Dan and his team, my garage is now beautiful, like another room in my house. Having a nice floor and light colored walls makes doing work in the garage all that much more pleasant. Thanks to Garage Magic ... umm, I mean Ross Painting ... for making my garage floor spectacular. read more

From the first encounter with Ross Painting, I have had only the best experience. Einar was professional and efficient as well as courteous. These superlatives also apply to the crew who did the work. And I'll add, others: prompt, hard-working and they supplied great results. I could not be happier with Ross Painting. I will recommend this to all who will listen. read more

Really low quality painters at very high prices. No attention detail, many visits to try to finish their work and still defects everywhere. Certainly never hire them on a time basis - insist on a full upfront quote, they totally overcharged us for the bad work they did read more

Dan and his team have been fantastic. My garage looks amazing. It was built in the sixties but the concrete floor now looks brand new. The process was far more thorough than anything else I've seen and you wouldn't have even know the team was here while they worked. On top of that it has a life time guarantee. I can't recommend Dan and his crew enough. I'm now looking at getting my pool deck done with him. Thanks Dan! read more

Great experience partnering with Dan Ross and his crew to paint the exterior of our house. They did a great job with prep work, three days of painting, and one day of touch-ups. They were on time every day and finished at the same time each day. The office was very responsive over email nd phone and invoicing was easy. read more

I walked around with the contractor to discuss the painting of the arbors at a commercial property. The arbors (probably 18 of them) almost all had bougainvillea vines growing on them. Bougainvillea vines do not attach they can be moved around. We discussed working around the vines as best he could which he agreed to do. Instead of doing that, he just chopped the entire vine off at a level just below the arbor. He did at least spare the rose vines on 2 of the arbors. His bid was a few thousand dollars (we paid him around $33,000) less then the other contractor we obtained a bid from. You get what you pay for! read more

I would hire Ross Painting again in a heartbeat to do inside, outside and custom work. They recently completed a project for us in Sonoma (they work a lot in Marin and SF too). They came in with the lowest bid, and from the beginning were a pleasure to work with. Their painters come to work on time, work hard all day, leave the job site tidy as can be at the end of each work day, plus do a FANTASTIC job. read more

I have used Ross Painting for over 15 years. They have worked on numerous commercial projects for both clients of ours and for projects that I own. I have also had them paint my home. Their work is excellent, their staff is friendly, accommodating and efficient and their prices are very fair. I will continue to use them for all of my painting needs, both residential and commercial. I make it a point to refer them to all of my friends and clients. I recommend them very highly. They are painting our condo complex. They do an adequate job. However, they damaged our plants, we had paint on the BBQ and despite repeated requests for them not to start work without knocking on our door first, they continued to show up unannounced, waking our sleeping child and this morning, standing on our deck while my wife was not fully dressed. I cannot stress enough how poorly they manage the customer relationship and would NEVER use them on my other house. read more

If there is a number less than one star I would have done it - a Zero!!! I would probably also have nothing but glowing praise for Ross Painting, but unfortunately never even got a courtesy return phone call. It says a lot about a business when emails/calls go unanswered -- they've clearly got sufficient business that they don't need mine!. I have requested for someone to call me back 3 times - yes that is (THREE) and no one called back. Then, read this disclaimer about the estimate: "Are estimates free? Ross Painting does not typically charge for estimates, but they are not free; the minimum cost to Ross Painting to supply a proposal is $200.00. In return for this "Free" service we ask that the client respond to our proposal in a timely manner" What the hell does that mean?!!!!!!!!! 1st they say they don't charge for Estimate, then they say not free, then they say minimum is $200?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW - I am confused as ever. This business should be reported to the stupid company called "Diamond Certified" who had rated them high. I am actually going to call Diamond Certified and report them. Enough Said. read more

Ross painting is painting our townhouse complex. This review relates to management. They set up large container boxes, trucks, ladders, garbage bags, paint containers and a porta potty in the living view of five homes for over two months with one to go. When the homeowner's requested the porta potty be moved where just garage doors view it, we were told they would not move it. When the homeowners wrote again making constructive suggestions, there was no response. Most contractors are sensitive to this issue. But the management at Ross Painting has ignored the requests of homeowners, and left an eye sore in the living area's of several homeowners when they could have moved it a few feet to be out of sight of the living area. Ross Painting has been inconsiderate, unreasonable and insensitive to the homeowners. There is no customer relationship. read more

I have worked with Ross painting on many personal projects and client projects. They have always been willing to work with my challenging schedules. They have come through for me in a time crunch and have demonstrated their complete professionalism. Every time they leave a job it is spotless and clean; they have also gone as far as labeling paint cans for me so I know for future touch-ups. They are outstanding with their customer service and are much more superior to other painting companies I have used in the past. I always recommend them to other Interior Designers/professionals and will continue to use them on future jobs. read more

Was referred to Ross Painting from a friend and I'm glad they recommended them. Worked with Dan on setting up a project for my commercial property and they did a fantastic job. I hired Ross Painting way back in 2006 and they did a stellar job. I had Chris' old email address at Ross Painting and we had another big painting job but we got a bounce back on the email. Now that I've found them again, I'm calling Ross Painting FIRST for my next project. read more

Extremely skilled painters, diligent, consistent, reliable. They delivered a very high quality, high gloss finish with difficult paint. Ross Painting was recommended to us by Wooden Windows of Oakland. We had splurged on custom windows to replace the original 1920s windows in the front of our house and wanted to make sure they were painted carefully. Ross Painting also connected us with a terrific faux-painter who helped us revitalize the badly damaged gumwood sills on the windows. The painters were prompt, professional, focused, and especially careful about protecting the area around the painting and cleaning up completely when they were done for the day. Painting windows can be tricky and they did a beautiful job. Any questions we had were addressed right away and modifications we made/added mid-job were not an issue. Dan Ross was a pleasure to work with and really knowledgeable. We've just hired Ross again to paint the entire outside of our house after some dry rot and stucco work and are confident that our house will not only look great but will be well protected from the sometimes very harsh weather in our neighborhood. Over 20 years ago I hired Dan Ross to do a specialty painting job in my then home. He did the painting himself and did a beautiful job, arrived on time, cleaned up thoroughly each night. I have never wanted to hire another painting firm since. Over the years the firm painted my home in Kentfield and now that I've moved to condo in Corte Madera, I continue to use this excellent firm. Dan may not do the painting himself anymore, but his team shares his work ethic and is as conscientious as he was when he did the painting. When I've needed a quote, Chris Brown has explained exactly what needs to be done to get the best results - sometimes just putting a coat or two on the walls is not adequate. The price is always fair and the painters do a beautiful job. I could not recommend Ross Painting more highly. They are the best. read more

I had Chris Brown provide us with a paint proposal for our home in Southern Marin before we will list it on the market in the Spring. The project is somewhat difficult to bid due to the fact that the interior has not been painted for 13 years and we need to have the house looking fresh for a potential buyer, but without breaking the bank. The scope of work that Chris came up with for the job was accurate and the pricing is very competitive based on other bids I looked at. The terms of his proposal are very well though out and provided a comprehensive level of detail. Chris and Dan are extremely professional people, they take a very organized approach and can handle any size residential project. read more

Can't say enough good things about them. I started a yelp account just to say something good about Ross Painting. They are very polite and super clean. The quality of work was very high and I am a very fussy customer. My cabinets look wonderful! The manager was very helpful with advise and helped me decide on the direction I wanted to go. When I called and had a question, they were there to answer or they called me back right away. I would not hesitate to call them again or recommend Ross Painting to one of my friends or neighbors. read more

I run a high end A/V business and I met Dan on the projects we worked on together. Based on the professionalism and workmanship Dan and his staff showed, I hired them to paint my house. The work came out great, his guys always showed up on time and did great work. My experience with other painters was a lack of professionalism and they were a bit flakey. Ross painting is definitely the exception to the rule! I have recommended Dan to a lot of friends and customers since then. read more

We hired Ross Painting to repair ceiling and walls in several rooms after having some new lighting installed. The work was well planned and the price was good. I hired Ross Painting to paint every wall, ceiling, and door inside my house. The task also included faux painting several ceiling beams to look like wood.
