I'm not a fan of the self-serve check-out. First, the paying customer has to do all the work. But then, I still had to stop at another register to have an employee take each item out of my bag, check it against my receipt, and repack the bag. The lines are long but moves quickly. Great daily discounts. Note: Aisles need more space to walk in and the bathrooms are dirty. Some rows that had clothes were on the ground. This Ross isn't so bad, however it is one of the small ones in terms of variety and items available. I usually like to look around the aisles in the home goods section and noticed lots of opened merchandise and broken items that were probably not seen by staff. The toy section has also increased with more young adult toys such as anime and collectibles while they have a larger variety of children makeup, dress up dolls, pink toys, and home economic play options like cooking and cleaning. Their prices are very reasonable (as long as the item isn't opened or broken), and they still have some options of things you might look for. However they do have questionable priced items such as furniture with designs that seems out of place and might break on impact that cost the same as a more higher quality and simple designed ones (probably the unique design makes it priced higher?). Clothes, handbags, and shoes are always plentiful, sometimes shoes are all over the floor because customers don't put them back. There are also clothes on the floor. Handbags are not organized well but they do have a lot of variety! Can't blame the mess on the staff, staff seemed busy checking out the huge line I keep seeing when I come here. I keep seeing customers leaving items anywhere near the register line when they don't want it anymore. read more

I went to return a few things. Got in line to return things. As I waited I noticed people at the jewelry counter being helped and figured I could go after I've returned my items. So I did my return with a very kind and patient cashier didn't catch his name though. And then went to the jewelry counter and found a few pieces I wanted and rang for help only to be told in a rude fashion to get in line because there was no one to help. The line was significantly longer than when I had gotten in line the first time and there was a tone of rudeness and I decided it wasn't worth getting in line for and spending a dime here. Don't know if the cashier was having a bad day or on a power trip, but didn't like the service from her. read more

Just went there today to look for interview attire, the security and the workers there were nice and presented a great attitude. I didn't even have to ask to go to the bathroom when I went to look towards the restroom. I don't get why the reviews are bad, the employees seemed chill there. They had a bunch of selections for clothing, shoes as well. The only thing is since I am 6 feet everything is too small. I found lots of items that are useful. It was already almost lunch time, and the staff were still shifting all the shelves around trying to disinfect and organize. The smell and dusts were just unbearable. Today on 03/03/26 around 8:20 pm the cashier with tattoos, beard, black glasses and horrible attitude named Michael was very rude to me and my daughter when we were shopping at this location. He barely wrapped my plates and after I paid for them, he pushed them to the side to take next customer while my daughter was putting away the bags into the car, even though we we were making another purchase. I had asked if he could wrap them since he just placed a single sheet of paper on top of each on and piled them 4 plates high ( I don't want to make assumptions but he lacks any common sense). He said that's the only paper he had. My daughter responded with that she understands that but he could wrap it. There was only one person behind me and the other cashier was about to be available, so I asked him to wait until my daughter would bring a bag from the car for the plates. He replied that he has to take another customer and pushed plates, so one almost fell if I didn't catch it. When I asked him to be careful, he said I already paid for it, so he didn't care. Also one of the items had a not scannable tag, so he told my daughter to look for another item, and that if he were to try scan the item it would be much more than the 3.99 price tag. He did not attempt to ask another employee to price check or find the item. Aren't employees supposed to price check??? We have been shopping at this location for many years, and are frequent visitors. We have never had an issue, quite the opposite. Another kind employee who we know, had asked my daughter, what was wrong since they have never seen us ever upset, or in anything except for a chipper mood. (I am removing the gender in case Micheal reads this). My daughter asked for the manager and we spoke with Ariyanna (sorry if it's mispelled), and she was extremely friendly and listened to us and apologized. She said she would speak to him. I hope this issue will be addressed and resolved, as this should not be happening. The only redeeming factor today were the other kind employees and amazing selection today. read more

It's Tuesday senior day. When checking out I asked for the senior discount. I got it. But I had a second order which was about $122 and in that one she didn't give it to me and said. It's one per day. I'm sure she is making this up! She was very bitchy. about it too. This location has a lot of inventory. Very good luggage section. Lots of clothes and items. Shoes! However on the shoes each pair has an electronic tag and if you even pick up shoes you look at it, they start a loud obnoxious noise. No staff in the store pays any attention to this, so what's the point. There are NOT enough cashiers so the wait to check out is about 30 minutes. No joke! read more

This place is like the messiest discount store I've been to. The handbags are pretty unorganized, and stuff is opened before it's even bought. They have good-priced items it just feels weird buying them because I'm scared other people tampered with them. Let's be clear: I'm 6'3" so 98% of the clothes at Ross don't fit me... and honestly, my dear Yelper, I'm cool with that. I don't bother going through the endless racks of bizarre seconds and last season's kitschy fashions when I visit. Nope, I'm here for: - inexpensive but mid-range quality socks and underwear - the occasional find in the backpack/luggage section - cheap, seasonal towels and kitchen/bath stuff - an inexpensive wallet when my "Costanza" can't take any more (if you get the reference, you have my respect) - that moment of "dammit, we need a cheap basket to build a silent auction item for little league/AYSO/scouts/insert nonprofit do-gooder organization here" - "Daddy, I want a mirror for my bedroom" - "Dad, I need a Hawaiian shirt for school tomorrow" - ... and the occasional find in the kitchen, cutlery, baking section. As Ross stores go, this one is pretty big, cleaner than most, and a modicum of thought went into planning the layout. The front and staff are always very kind, as is the security guy standing by the door. They also have an established queue so you don't have to get in fights with anyone who would hit you with a can of corn in the head if you accuse them of cutting you off in line. I fully understand the annoyance with the loud security alarms, but retail theft has now ballooned to BILLIONS OF $$$ across the country. Thank the liberal judges, Newsom, and D.A. Gascon for no bail and little to no punishments when it come to retail thieves. Management is most likely desperate to block the punk thieves roaming our stores for free purses, shoes, jewelry, and clothing to justice with these alarms and guards. If you're annoyed by either, simply do what I did this week...I shopped the Ross Dress for Less on Lake Ave. In Pasadena. I got some terrific buys and never heard an alarm once. read more

COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. Some of the staff also wear gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. While I was here doing some shopping in this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: In this shopping center, there are plenty of parking spots, so you don't have to worry about parking at all. Prepandemic parking was a breeze. I never really worried about parking except during the holiday season. Black Friday parking can be a pain. But during the pandemic, there are a lot of spots available. The spots are pretty big and wide. You don't have to worry about people dinging your car. This store is between Best Buy and Starbucks. Store: The store here is well organized, tidy, clean, and neat. The aisles are a bit small, so you may have to squeeze by someone in some of the clothing aisles. Everything is placed in a manner that makes sense. Staff: The staff here are very nice and helpful. I browsed for like an hour or so, and I was asked several times (5 or 6 times) by the staff if I needed any help finding something. read more

Every time I shop at this Ross, I am racially profiled by the short, dark skinned, overweight, butch, Hispanic loss prevention lady. There was one occasion where I had a cart full of about $100+ worth of miscellaneous stuff. While I'm walking towards the line, I see a panic in her face and she goes to block the door with both hands on her waist while making eye contact with me. Okay linebacker??? I'm just getting in line to pay, which this single transaction is funding your check for the day. I have also been followed by the light skinned loss prevention lady who wears her hair in a bun (a military style hairdo). She also has a bad case of RBF. On a completely separate occasion I was looking at clothes and I look up and she's right across from me. As I continued, I noticed she was on the same rack I was searching through. She did this each time I moved to a different rack. I don't know if that slicked back bun is too tight and she doesn't realize she isn't invisible. I have shopped here countless times, and these two loss prevention people are extremely aggressive with their job unless you are white and look like you live in Hastings Ranch. I am never comfortable shopping here because of them, despite the fact that I am a repetitive paying customer. I have also had trouble with the older Filipino lady working the dressing rooms. She thoroughly examined the security ink tag before I went in the dressing room, then snatched the single item I tried on and thoroughly examined security tag as I was leaving the dressing room. I am sure they deal with theft, but I have never stolen anything in my life. Their approach is poorly executed and unprofessional. They have also began checking receipts at the door. This feels completely unnecessary since they are following you around the entire time you shop anyway. The lady who checked me in to the dressing rooms, was neutral nothing excellent, but especially important nothing bad to say. The lady who checked me out of the dressing rooms, super rude. Whatever it's getting to the end of the day I get it. She changed her tone after I confronted her attitude. My main "bone to pick" is with the cashier I had. Super short one word responses rude tone. He gave me my change and then walked away without saying anything. I had to grab my own receipt. I get it, not a big deal just get it and go.. but it's accumulative of rude behavior. Ross is not a high end retail store but it does have high end items at bargain store prices. Sure we can all agree that the setup is not boutique and the upkeep of the shelf inventory shuffle suffers but these prices and that occasional wtf bargain keep me coming back. This particular branch has high inventory levels and decent service with a mixed range of pleasantly helpful to flea market level passive assistance (assists with disinterest and minimal eye contact). I can still tell there are hard working diligent team members here. Con: this parking lot not Ross's fault but Spaces are so tight they could've better served patrons by losing two to three spots per row and widening the rest bc that's how many unparkable empty spaces there are left anyway. read more

Went to this store at around 10:30 am for pants and a shirt. By the time I was ready to checkout the line was incredibly long. I counted 53 people in line with only 2 checkers. Unbelievable!! There's no reason for not calling for additional checkers. I dumped my items and headed out. Nobody wants to wait in such a long line. read more

I'll give them a three star for the amount of items they have and that it's much cleaner than other Ross's I've been to. The lack of stars is for their customer service. Dropped by to look for a dress for my mom for Mother's Day and just experienced horrible to no service. Walked into the fitting room to try on some things I picked out for myself and the lady working there just stared at me. I guess she was waiting for me to put my items on the rack or state how many items I had but she didn't say a word. I mentioned I had two items and she basically threw the "2" tag at me and pointed to the left as the ladies room was there. When I walked out handing her the items because they didn't fit, she just gave me a face. We did end up with two items for my mom though so we did end up checking out. Walked over to the checkout line and there was a rude girl who just squeezed her way through to get to her mom. (I know that's not the store's fault but just wanted to throw it in to add to the annoyance). When we finally got to the cashier, I believe her name was Rachael, there was no greeting or anything whatsoever. It was basically she scanned the items, saw we had a card in our hands, so when it popped up my sister entered her credit card, and then she packed our stuff and was already calling the next person in line. On July 29, 2023, at 1 p.m. I entered the check out line. My cart was full of merchandise. When I got in line, there were three cashiers. Two cashiers (young Asian ladies) finished helping customers but both decided to disappear instead of waiting on me. I was the only one in line. Another cashier stepped away from the checkout too, but she didn't disappear like her coworkers, so a supervisor told her to help me. It was obvious that the first two didn't want to work. I have been a customer at Ross for years and they staff are professional, except for those two in Pasadena today. They also took off while two male supervisors were nearby. I'm lucky a supervisors were near the checkout orI would have been stuck there for awhile. This is the first time I had complaints about the service at any Ross store. But the Pasadena store on Foothill has some lousy staff manning the checkouts. read more

If I had an option to not select a star rating for this store I wouldn't. Worse customer service by employees and even the middle aged lady manager with short brown/black hair. They need to work on their attitude and approach. They need to reevaluate who they hire as a manager. Was trying to return an item that I no longer needed. I purchased it a week ago and they were giving me a hard time returning the item even though it had the tag and I had the receipt with me. Shopping while black strike again. Possible undercover security, an olive skinned guy maybe Spanish or Mideastern between fifties and sixties started following me around this store. First in the throw rug section, then casually in the pretty towel section (he didn't look like a pretty towel kinda guy looked a bit rough to be honest) over to the men's shirts section - this time he had a small package in his hand I guess to make him look more like an authentic shopper then to the purse section where I cut back and went to the men's section before I did I stopped turned around and looked at him, he didn't follow me after that. While waiting in line daydreaming, I felt someone's eyes on me so I turned and caught the young male security kid at the door staring at me. He suddenly looked away and meandered away to do something else. Left, picked my mom up from church to take her shopping and get something else I forgot, about thirty minutes had passed at least walked in and saw same older man pretending to shop. He saw me looking and suddenly disappeared. Come on now, this guy certainly didn't look like he'd ever shop at Ross and having an older SKETCHY MAN FOLLOW ME AROUND THE DAMN STORE was disturbing. I wouldn't have been at all surprised if he whipped "something" out. That's the vibe I got from him and yet he was one of their undercover security team members. Ewe. For targeting black people so hard, I hope your store gets ripped off by non-blacks for millions. I hope shoplifters and thieves take a black friend and have a go. Went to Ross today did my shopping and I went to the register to get ranged up, had a cashier that was new which is ok people have to start somewhere but when it was time to pay, the cashier didn't know how to do BASIC math. I tried giving her exact change and she was like no I can't take it I don't know how to do that, then some other employee says I can help you out here she doesn't know how to do change.. like WHAT?! It's 2023. I understand the registers calculate the change for you but SERIOUSLY you can't add????? So disappointing! I am so Disappointed from this store today. This store use to be one of my favorite stores to shop from. I came to return some products .After driving for 45min with two little babies in the car, the assistant manager (Angie) which she didnt even had her name tag, so I didnt even know who she was, was not willing to help me with return because I didnt have the receipt in my hand I had the picture of with all the info that they need and they could of Punch in the number instead of scanning that. But she didnt and make it so big deal. I personally worked in retail for more then 10 years including Ross, and I remember how i was treating my customers, trying to go out of my way to make sure thet were happy leaving my store. Disclaimer, I give 2 stars bc I still go there sometimes and often find something that is a nice item for a pretty great deal. However not very often bc increasingly so every time and I do mean every the employees just blow me away with their crispy salty over cooked crappy tudes! Sometimes they'll follow you around and stare at you just to let you know thy think you might steal if they can't see what you're doing the whole time and don't try it. I like to go late at night esp before COVID bc they'd be open til 12-1a. If I couldn't sleep I'd through there looking for something cool or 20 things if I'm honest. You need much time bc there's a lot to wade through a lot of less cool stuff for me you know. Then with the masks they straight up intimidate you to wear it, I don't even know why we obey, I guess they're scary bc we just do! One time I was there for like he and. A half and had grabbed my 20 random things that I was planning no in buying. The closer I got to checkout the aisles were all complete with a staff or security person. By the Last few aisles I could hear them talking. About me, the white girl yeah she's here which surprised me bc I never thought of it as a racial thing it was anyone they'd "pick-on". One row of womens items I was checking out the staff member went between me and the rack At which I was looking! Now I did forget to mention that I was wearing my Trump 2020 shirt. But Trump is no racist and the only no who believe that are the ones who trust but refuse to verify. Ridiculous. Either way no one deserves to be treated like that, no one! I was a paying customer who has spent thousands in there and regularly enough to where they damn well recognize me. Needless to say I took my arm full of pre purchased items and dropped them on a display table. I was pissed. I wrote a letter to corporate never got response, called left message no reply. They're the only store open that late where I can feed my shipping addiction plus find something I do actually need or use bit like hoarders kinda goods.
