If you are a fan of the Bargain Box in Arcadia or the Huntington Collection in Pasadena, check out Treasure Fair Thrift Shop in Pasadena... 4 stars!!!! Just like the Bargain Box and Huntington Collection, I can't call the Treasure Fair a thrift shop since it's not like a typical thrift shop, but more like second-hand boutique. You can tell that the volunteers take the time to highlight the quality of the available merchandise, especially the housewares and decor. It's very evident that all of the treasures for sale were meticulously cleaned and staged by the hardworking staff. There's also a pretty good selection of clothing for all ages. The Treasure Fair is a nonprofit managed by the Assistance League of Pasadena, and one of their worthy endeavors is Operation School Bell, which provides much needed clothing as well as school supplies such as backpacks and books to children in need in neighboring local schools. There's a very small parking lot but there should be plenty of street parking available if needed. Also, be aware that the store has limited hours since it's managed by volunteers. It's only open four days a week, Wednesdays thru Saturdays, from 11am to 2pm. Plan to check out The Treasure Fair to give much needed treasures a new. home. read more

Last time I was here was a few weeks ago. I was buying some jewelry waiting in line and one of the lady's starts talking to someone behind me in line and they automatically call her up first because she needed help which I don't think is fair. I didn't say anything and was like oh well but then a different lady working calls another person from behind me when I am clearly in line. I don't know if it was a race thing but that is what it felt like or maybe it was because I was a young shopper and they didn't think I could afford it. All the lady's that work here are white and the only one that helped me was a sweet hispanic lady when she could tell I was in shock they did that twice and just stood there dumbfounded. It is disappointing to see they favor certain shoppers over others and they also gouge their shoppers. I guess it's because they are barely open so they justify their prices, mind you a big portion of their inventory was max studio which you could get at Nordstrom Rack for cheaper! If you have a great experience here it will mostly be because they favor certain races. read more

Since when is it ok for thrift shops to price gouge their community? Community members donate items to the shop and the shop turns around and sells the items back to the community at exorbitant prices. It's ridiculous. A dish set being sold for 500$ at a thrift shop is ridiculous. I was excited when this shop opened, hoping that I would finally have a place to donate items to. I'd rather give my belongings away for free on Facebook marketplace now that I know that this shop will rip off my neighbors. It's not ok. Just because Goodwill is ripping everyone off doesn't mean that small neighborhood thrift shops should follow suit. read more

I've come here with 5 minutes to spare till closing time and found work-ready suiting (excellent navy blazer, nice fairly new pants) for $2 each on sale. Usually clothing prices are $10-$20. I've bought excellent pants here in women's size 6 to 8 which are in good shape and good brands. It's not a dump style thrift store. It's nicely curated. This is full of "Treasures". Beware that they close during the holidays each winter. They are only open from 11 to 2 mid-day, and only from Wednesday to Saturday. I highly recommend visiting here. read more

I shop thrift stores mostly for clothes but there's always interesting items catching my eye here! They have really good glasswares and Knick knacks for the house. Their "ritz" section for clothes is not bad, sometimes good things turn up but still mostly "mature" brands in the nature of most locally run smaller thrift shops. In terms of pricing, things are really affordable or really marked up. Hit or miss. Workers are volunteers that's why the hours are shorter but they are generally all nice, I find the vibe to be better than Huntington collection but that place got better as well after moving locations. Overall a solid stop in a thrifting day, but definitely not a one stop shop if you're a treasure Hunter like me. read more

My daughter and I frequent thrift shops in Pasadena, Arcadia and Covina and really enjoy the "hunt" for great deal on cool stuff. We have been in this shop before, but usually don't stop here due to their limited hours. So...we were excited to drive by on 7/28/22 to find the place open AND a parking spot right outside!! We were excited because we wanted to show my husband this cool little shop as he's usually not with us when we go thrifting. The moment we walked in, a lady behind the register shouted, "WE'RE CLOSED!" I had just checked the hours on the door and knew we were cutting it close, but still had time before the listed closing time. Many people in line turned to look at us as she scowled at us. I said, "Are you actually closed?" The clerk said, "We are shutting down the registers in five minutes!" So, my husband said, "Can we just look around for 5 minutes then?" She said nothing, but continued to glare at us. We turned to walk around the store, but honestly, felt so harassed that we couldn't even focus on the merchandise. I really felt her treatment was hostile considering the store was still open. As we turned to leave, I just felt like I needed to say something and so I did. I told her that it was very rude of her to talk to us the way she did. She said, "We've been trying to lock the door for a while now and we're all volunteers and we want to go home!!" I told her that I understood that they are all volunteers, but the store was still open. And then I left that store for the last time. Seriously!? She was so rude AND the fact is...the store was open!! I will not be returning and will tell everyone I know to never go there either. I understand that the staff is a volunteer staff, but if you hate volunteering so much - maybe you shouldn't do it if it's going to cause you to be so nasty to people. This is for all you millennials and gen z peeps. I would like to first announce this very important disclaimer: when I came to yelp to write- I told myself that if was to write, I must write candidly. My goal is not to tear down a company's reputation but to convey transparency. My first impression of this thrift store was ecstasy. I felt I had entered a rabbit hole where I would find towers of books and adventure off into a fantasy of never-ending clothing racks. But just like Alice, things were not as they appeared. I found myself rushing into a secret room of books, only to be disappointed by a lack of quality. (While I did find a few, the books I found were marked separately and in a different location. A location where books are marked from $2-$10) Clothing racks that would only satisfy the needs of my grandparents. While my flame of enthusiasm was quickly being extinguished, one employee's comment left me to freeze. Attached is a photo of book prices. Clearly displayed is 6 paperbacks for a dollar. A sign that had me sprinting back to my car to get two carts to withhold the awesomeness of this presumed "deal." Than a employee discerns me with the sad truth. That the price of the paperbacks is to the discretion of the shop. That the deal only applies for small paperbacks. And that the "regular-sized" paperbacks are around a $1. I am a man of principle. If the price is to be a $1 clearly mark the price and lead the buyer to assume otherwise. Or else you might find a customer wrangling a cart full books only to put them back. (In support of my earlier mention, the books that I had found decent enough to do 6 for a dollar but not for a dollar each) While you might find some interesting vintage finds, you will most likely find them at a hefty price. I was ready to leave the store pretty disappointed, but than meeting the owner and having a nice discussion about favorite authors, I left the store with a smile on my face. SKIP TO THIS: Overall you will find some cool decor and houseware. But if you are looking to walk out with a couple bags of designer goods- I would look elsewhere. (Also, they provide shoes, books, and personal care items to elementary school students in the Pasadena Unified School District. 2) Celebrating the achievements of 72 middle school students each year who have shown a significant improvement in attendance, academics, and behavior. 3) Provide services to victims of sexual assault survival kits to sexual assault victims. 4) Giving child victims a friend to hug (gives out teddy bears to children who have been victims of neglect or abuse and are being treated at LAC/USC Medical Center or SGV Medical Center). 5) Providing seniors with a creative outlet (Seniors get compensated for the crafts that they make at the Craft Fair Gift Shop). 6) All the items in the store are donated to the company through great people from the community. This thrift shop has incredible finds. Everything from vintage to new. Every week they have new things. The staff there are all volunteers and so helpful. The proceeds go towards programs that assist children, elderly, and assault victims. It feels good to know that every dollar spent here goes towards a great cause. My dad suggested to go here while waiting for my mom to finish up at Kaiser. My brother and I were excited to see what they had inside once we parked on the street near the outside of the store. We were welcomed with the universal smell of a thrift store when we entered the place. The store was pretty small, but had a good variety of items for sale. The items ranged from jewelry at the counter to books, toys, cds and even Christmas items in celebration of Christmas in July. I wasn't planning to get anything until a towel caught my eye cause of its familiar images. It turned out that the towel had caricatures of the LA Galaxy team with Alcartel on top. I was excited to find it there since my boyfriend loves LA Galaxy. I headed to the counter and while waiting in line, I found a snag in the towel. I told the cashier and was fine if they took off a dollar or so, but gave me the item for more than half off after she saw it. That was really nice of her and the staff there was pretty friendly too. The place is located right off a Main Street with no front parking but you can dive to the corner gas station and pull into that drive way and park in the back of the store. There is not a back entrance to walk in from but they do have a drop off donation door in the back so of course being my first time I walked into that area and asked the employee if I can enter the store from here and her reply was " No, the entrance is through the front but since your already here" Gezzzzz :/ So they didn't have what I was looking for i.e. Men's shorts and tanks but again they didn't have a big or decent selection of men stuff, they have this small section towards the center back with about two racks of mens clothing and one small shelf of men's shoes. They do have plenty of knick knacks and racks of women's clothing so if your looking for that stuff this is a good place to check out. I wasn't helped or greeted by anyone while I looked around, the only staff interaction I received was the bye on the way out the front entrance (yes I walked around to the back) lol Have fun shopping! read more

Used to be a nice place to shop. Recently they've hiked up prices for a lot of things, comparing it to ebay. $129 for a microcell tower that they're not sure if it works or is unlocked? $5 for books? Signed items with no COA for premium prices? Some are even 45, but on amazon only for 30. Doesnt make sense. Compare with ebay pricing when you sell on ebay or amazon. read more

Neat little thrift shop in the city of Pasadena. Forgotten I had been here a while back. It's not very large and it's your typical small charity thrift store, with grandmother like sweet ladies working there. You'll see some really old stuff, some cool vintage, few cool designer clothing & other odds and ends. I scored on a Dodger Jersey for $5., there was an Ann Klein jacket for $10 or $15, vintage, style that is timeless and in great condition - I didn't get it :( I'd come back & give it a look around, it was decent and I love those old type thrift stores where you never know what your going to find, but it's worth taking a peek. This is a great thrift store. It has everything you could possibly imagine and at affordable prices. Think Rose Bowl Flea Market, but cheaper and smaller. It is run by Assistance League of Pasadena volunteers, and all of the proceeds go back into the Pasadena community. It's definitely worth visiting. There is street parking and parking spaces in back. Extremely dissatisfied. I came here before Christmas and am completely dissatisfied with the service that these folks here provide. I was looking through their selection of Birthday cards and one employee came up right next to me and grabbed the cards I had just put back and scuffed and muffled something under her breath and began to organize. I understand that they volunteer and my not be paid to be working there but come on...act right. You don't wanna be there you don't have to be there...geez. Due to their mission to fund Assistance League of Pasadena programs, Treasure Fair is constantly getting donations of upscale goods in excellent condition. Most of the items in the store look new and some even have the retail pricetags still on them. If you need plastic coathangers (10 for 50 cents) or rolodex cards or vintage office supplies, this is the place to go. As a student, I am always in need of 50 cent index cards from the Johnson administration and $1 Cold War era composition notebooks for class use. The men's clothing section is usually lacking and picked over. A large collection of LPs (about 10 milk crates full) that have been filled with uninteresting material fit for the garbage heap for 75 cents apiece. However I did find an Ellington album behind the counter and asked the kind lady behind the counter and got it for 75 cents. read more

The only reason why i an giving the place a 1 star because of customer service. The Lady with short hair and wearing glasses I think her name is Lori. I was looking thru jeans and found the jeans i like. All the jeans in the rack does not have a tag and all of a sudden when i went to the register she changed the price and put a tag on the lucky brand jeans even if the sign on the rack did not mention that branded jeans worth double than what it says on the list of prices that they have on the rack. She was claiming that the tag must have been taken off by people who wants to change price even though ALL THE JEANS in the rack does not have a tag on.
