Every employe here looks miserable and lack customer service skills. I understand if the employees are tired and but it's not difficult to be polite and have manners. Clothes are all over the floor and the aisles are cramped together that it makes it hard to walk around. Worst of all the woman at self check out told me to count my items to make sure I had less than ten cause if not she would cancel my transaction. I knew I had exactly ten items which is why I went to self checkout. When I get home I find a security tag on one of the items I purchased. This Ross is by far the best I've been to... And I've been to many. It's large with everything you're looking for. Shoes, tops, dresses, decor, seasonal, baby clothes, diapers, etc. If you're going in, expect to be there for a bit because there are so many great items! i don't know why it's rated so low. maybe customer service? i worked here for 4 years almost. the prices are great in my opinion! and they always have some of the trendiest clothes and accessories! but sometimes the staff (depending) is ehhh. we didn't get paid enough to be like chic fila LOL. plus every employee has to act as loss prevention. it was literally our job to look for shop lifters and report suspicious activity. (which i get) but i worked retail for 10 years and ross was kind of excessive with it. so if someone follows you around (meaning an employee) you're not being paranoid they probably are LOL also they can't control mess. there's not enough people working to clean up after messy people. read more

stood in line for 15 minutes and watch four that was supposed to be working standing at the register, laughing joking to each other in Spanish one line open, so I went to self check out no one there to take the buzzers off waited another 10 minutes because the girl in the green who was supposed to be taking the tags off was one of the four standing there talking for 15 minutes unprofessional worst customer service at a Ross department store that I've seen in years I wish I could give a half star. Hello, to whom it may concern. I am a frequent shopper of you Ross Stores. We love getting great deals on name brands!! I do have a serious concern about one of your locations. Ross @ 38115 47th St E, Palmdale, CA 93552 has an extremely fowl smell in the store. As soon as you enter the odor hits you in the face. I made my visit to this location very brief because i could not stand the odor. 8 months earlier i made a visit to this same location and the same very strong odor was present inside the building. I do not know where it's coming from but if i had to guess the ducting from the central air could be the culprit? The smell is that of old dust or possibly mold. I feel concern for the employees that work there it's just unhealthy to breathe in there. Your other 2 locations one in west side Palmdale on 10th st. W and the one in Lancaster right off of Ave K do not suffer from this problem. I hope you look into this situation and take the necessary steps to improve the air quality of the store in question. This location apparently does not approve of military veterans. My husband has a PTSD service dog to keep him calm in large crowds. We have never had a problem bringing her anywhere (everywhere) we go. However one worker noticed the dog, looked back to my husband and shook her head in disapproval. She then gave one last disgusted look to me then moved her cart to the next isle to continue inventory. We will not be shopping here till management trains for proper customer service. read more

Had the worst experience here at this Ross on 47th street Palmdale. went and to buy a gift for my mom which was 35 dollars and walking out the door I noticed I didn't have the receipt with me so I went back and asked for it and two employees working at the counter were acting very rude towards me making a big scene not wanting to give me the damn receipt. I just left this Ross store and cannot believe how I was treated. I purchased a jacket earlier and when I tried it on at home, I found a used condom in the pocket. I left it in there and told the cashier about it, and they all acted like I had put it there. Luckily they had already refunded me, because the manager was saying no I couldn't return it with the condom in the pocket. I've never been treated so rudely. read more

Super surprised that this store has bad reviews. Literally, every time I have stopped in looking for something I found it easily. The store is clean and well-stocked (still a fun treasure hunt if you have the time...). The employees are efficient and security is friendly to the customers. Yesterday I picked up a pair of black DKNY pants for my son, a jockey bra for me and 2 Serta pillows for under $40. If I had walked the 75 feet that lead to Target I would have paid double or triple that. They also had super cute maxi-dresses, lots of good make-up, hair, skin brands and really cute journals (if you have the time I'm sure there a million treasures to discover). At the front they have some really good dry food brands and chichi drink brands for great prices. read more

Great place for school uniforms for small kids, toys during the holidays and decor! They recently remodeled and it looks much cleaner and organized. For some reason I have better luck at the Lancaster store for adult shoes but they have a great selection of shoes for kids and a ton of cute inexpensive clothes for my teens. The lines can get long but what else can you expect at any discount store. If you want a great deal they have to save money somewhere. Usually i like going shopping at ross with. My wife who hapens to be pregnant. We saw a few outfits that we thought would look cute on her went to the fitting room when she came out in her first outfit she told me one was to small she went back in and i grabbed her a bigger sixe when she came out i was going to hand it to her and the lady working there said we couldnt swap out an item . i was dumbfounded it was irritating and so i just walked away when i came back i asked this person if your allowed 8 items why cant i just give it to her she says she has to get dressed and start over at this point.
