I went to the Kent location for ROSS, based on its locational convenience alone. I have found this to be one of the slowest stores w regard to service. There will be a line of ~ 10, with 2.5 registers open (the .5 is due to one register having someone occupy it, but the individual is asking questions if another cashier throughout the transaction. Efficiency is their greatest opportunity. There are an additional 4-5 employees having conversation while we wait. I finally engaged with who I perceived to be the manager, and he apologized and had someone take me almost immediately. This is the only reason for a second star. This was my first time shopping at this Ross Store today. I wasn't sure what to expect based on previous reviews. To my surprise, the store was clean and organized. The wait in line went quickly as there were 3 cashiers. My only negative would be lack of selection as I wanted wine glasses and they only had one container of 4. The wine glasses are probably sitting on a shipping container at a port, so I wouldn't blame Ross for it. I would definitely shop there again. Not sure how many stars to rate this place because there are a few pros and cons. Cons: this place is a mess. Too many things in the aisles that in certain aisles I swear, it is a tripping hazard. The service is......alright. You get greeted by the security guy at the door, but are waiting in line much longer than necessary because they only have one person assisting in checkouts and one person for returns (on the specific day I went). This store is a disaster. Do they just not care? I called the main office concerning the condition of the store, bad management of the store & the long lines. They said they would let the district mgr know. Well, nothing has changed Employees tell me they are always short staffed. Don't understand why they don't get someone in late at night to reorganize for the next day. You have a hard time pushing your cart without dragging something from the floor with you. It's sad bc they have good prices and good selection. Richland store is heaven compared to this one. When going in to try things on I was told to put items back on hangers when done She didn't say it to anyone else in line. I'm 60 years old I think I know the drill. I owned my own store it's not that difficult to keep it neat and organized. I've been in thrift stores better organized and neater. The store is a constant mess. The lines at checkout ridiculously long. I've left because of their lines leaving my purchase, not purchased, many times. I've seen lines to the back of the store. I question why an owner would allow their store to be such a mess all the time. Is it awful customers who trash the store? Is it too small a store for the amount of merchandise? Is it not enough staff? Is it you just don't care? You are obviously making money because the store is always busy. Ross is officially worse than goodwill. The store was even messier than before, and I didn't even know that was possible. There were piles upon piles upon piles on displays, not even organized, tidy piles. It looked worse than a thirteen year old's bedroom after a week-long slumber party with 5 rowdy friends. The aisles are closer together than they were at my last visit, yet contain no enticing merchandise. Nonetheless, I was in for a specific kitchen supply I knew I'd seen there before and was too cheap to buy anywhere else. Grabbed it as quickly as possible and made my way to the line. I was behind five or six people, some with children they allowed to run around like they were at a freakin' playground. One person proceeded to yell from the line all the way back to the Kitchenware aisle to direct someone to grab something for her. I mean, seriously, quit screaming in my ear and walk your ass back there and pick it out yourself. I almost stabbed a bitch. That's how Ross makes me feel. I purchased a wallet here. Put my items in the wallet and felt I didn't have the room I wanted. Tried to return it and they said it was "used". I told them they would lose my business forever and they didn't seem to really care. How absolutely ridiculous they wouldn't take back this item. I've returned worn and washed clothing to Fred Meyer and they didn't even question me. The store was loud, carts were scattered everywhere and there were at least 15 people standing in line. I just moved to Kennewick a couple months ago and the Ross here is the worst I have ever seen. I ended up walking out of the store and stopped looking around because I couldn't even really look through anything because there was crap ALL OVER THE FLOOR. Shoes were everywhere, clothes were all over the place and not in the right section. The isle where they have dishes and random things was a mess. You can't even barely find what your looking for. I just can't even believe the managers allow the store to look like complete trash. I mean do the employees even do anything? I'm guessing not. I love discount stores like Ross, Marshalls, TJ Max, and Burlington Coat Factory; however, this Ross location is consistently the absolute worst. Ladie's lingeries is mixed in with the men's underwear, gourmet foods like truffle salt and pomegranate syrup are in the bath and body aisle, toddler clothes are in the men's jeans section, the perfume and cologne are in the pet section mixed in with shampoo, some of the candies are half eaten, DVDs are open, and the list goes on. They need a new manager or person in charge of the store organization. And tell the Loss and Prevention guy in front of the store that he can quit because I wouldn't steal anything from this gross, dilapidated, outdated, messy store. read more

Yesterday I went to Ross for the absolute last time! It was the most frustrating, unorganized and caused anxiety & stress. All of the aisles had crap all over the floor so I couldn't even get down the shoe aisles with my (filthy) basket. This is a regular practice. I went to a newly opened Ross store which was clean compared to the other local Ross store. I bought a Columbia jacket. I wore the jacket four times in two weeks and the zipper broke. I could not find my receipt so I made a copy of my bank statement with the purchase date, price, etc. Ross would not refund my money, nor let me trade the jacket for another exact jacket or even give me credit. I spoke with the manager and she said if they could pull up the purchase on her computer they could give me credit. She pulled the purchase with my debit card number and issued a receipt with credit but not cash I told the manager I was not happy. . It seems to have more then enough employees yet most of them are not helpful and a few are just rude. The floor is covered in items that have fallen off the shelf. Things are in the wrong place. I have been in many Ross stores in many states, and this one is by far the worst one. The aisles are too narrow, it's crowded, there is stuff everywhere. It looks like a tweens bedroom after having a rage fit over being grounded while all her friends went to a Bieber concert -- except the whole store looks that way. I didn't use a cart because I wouldn't be able to maneuver or get around all the people and crap everywhere. The cashier I went to was blah -- after waiting in line for 15 minutes. I will never go back here again. Not ever. I hate this place. It's dirty and it seems like the staff NEVER straightens the shelves or picks stuff up off the floor. Their selection in some areas is quite limited. The staff is about as unhelpful as I've ever run across, too. My biggest complaint, though, is about the company in general. Worst return policy on the planet. The item MUST have the original tags attached AND be accompanied by a receipt. NO MATTER WHAT. No exceptions, not even for gifts. When I asked the "customer service " person why that was, she actually said that it was to prevent their customers from buying stuff elsewhere and then attempting to return it to them and get the money. My guess, then, is that Ross as a company distrusts all of its customers and believes them to be liars and thieves. Finally, at this store, the lines are always long, the store is always full of people - usually more than half are yelling, screaming, crying children who are not being supervised in any meaningful way - and the service is insanely slow. It used to be worth to go here just for the prices, but I have decided there are plenty of options to Ross, so they can do without me. read more

I went in yesterday and there was nothing.. I know it was Sunday and everything. But I went looking for one pair of shorts and I couldn't find anything. There was no shorts from size 0-6... And I asked an employee who was nice. But she said that they don't get anything in on the weekends. Which makes no since.. I went in to browse with my 10 month old son. The store itself was a bit messy but not terrible. I used a cart so that I could shop and my son could ride in the basket. When I went to the dressing room I was told I could not take my cart back with me. I asked if I could go into a handicap stall with the cart so my son could sit in the cart. I was told no. I pushed my cart to the side and had to sit my 10 month old on the floor while I was trying things on. Well like any baby he was crawling all over the place, going under the door, etc. I wished there was something I could sit him in or if I could have just brought back an empty cart with me. The girl that was checking clothes at the dressing room was a bit rude when I came back out and at that point I asked to speak with a manager.
