Probably one of the worse locations I've been to. I've visited multiple times and there is always LONG lines and I mean as far as to the dressing rooms (which are at the back of the store) and they only ever have two registers going with cashiers who have no sense of urgency and are too busy chatting to each other. If you visit bring someone who can wait inline while you shop because I can guarantee you they will still be waiting in line by the time you finish shopping. read more

Went to the fitting room to try a dress on. I had my 10 month old in the front of the cart, the dress to try on in my hand and absolutely no items in my cart. I asked if I could take my cart in because I had my baby and was told no. How am I supposed to try clothes on while holding my son? I cannot put him on the dirty floor and he will fall if I put him on the bench. I ended up leaving and taking my business to Marshall's next door. What a ridiculous policy. The worst customer service I've seen in life!! They really sent my mom to the store next door to use the restroom but she takes medication that makes her sensitive to the sun.Who does that? You don't have a restroom for your customers? It's 115° and you have to walk next door????? While she was gone I tried on two dresses (that I planned on purchasing so I didn't leave them in fitting room) I came out briefly when I returned with third dress just to be told I can't try the third dress on so they can clean the fitting rooms and she had no idea how long it would take. My husband and I come to this ross from time to time and last time we went there loss prevention told me I couldn't come in with a drink. It took me back because I've never had a bad experience here. So we turned around and left. We have seen people walk in and out with merchandise every single time we go there but they stop me at the door because I have a smoothie. It's their loss, not mine. Staff is extremely rude. The cashier took issue with my sister and I existing. She was cold and acted downright disgusted with us, even though we hadn't said anything to her apart from "Hello." She didn't respond at all. We'd purchased only 2 items. A wind chime and a pair of slippers. I pulled out my card, preparing to pay while she wrapped the chime. She then barked at me and said, "Open that bag so I can put this in!" I was stunned and my sister was taken aback as well. (I've stood in the middle of BLM groups with a Police Lives Matter flag and found them to be more civil than this cashier! And no, I wasn't wearing anything political nor was my sister at the time of this.) If my mother wasn't sitting in the car in this AZ heat, I'd have definitely demanded to speak to a manager. Instead, I silently bagged my own purchases. Before I could pay, she shouted, "Next on two!" This lead to a mother and kid tentatively making their way to stand behind us while I paid. Again, she shouted, "I said next on two!" This scared the girl who couldn't have been more than 8. After printing out my receipt she handed it to my sister without a second glance. This is the worst Ross ever. The staff is rude and when you ask to use the restroom ,they almost yell at you and they refuse to let you use it . The employees have a terrible work ethic. I just left this store very disappointed because I needed to use the bathrooms and they did not let me use them. The employee did not give me a valid reason as to why they were locked (for example, them being out of order). I am a regular customer of Ross, I am also pregnant and with my current condition I cannot reasonably hold my need to use a restroom. I left the store today very aggravated. This is the first store I've been to where there is a hanger rack in the middle of the line for checkout for you to place your hangers on. I remember there was a sign along the lines of... our cashiers can remove a hanger in 5.2 seconds, can you beat them? Smart. I usually take off my own hangers whenever I check out because it just speeds up the process. I do want to recommend that the store tidy it up, it just looks sloppy with hangers all disorganized. Anyway, I have been to this location twice. My most recent visit was to return something. There were four associates at the checkout counters, but only two active registers. Returns were being processed by the regular check out registers this particular morning. It seemed like everyone was taking their sweet time. It's not that the customers before me had a lot of items, but the associates were not working efficiently at all. The line kept growing and growing. Finally one of the leads realized this and called for backup. Funny, she should have just opened a register herself along with the other associate who was just standing around. I was shocked to see no reviews for this location but scrolled down and did see one that was "not recommended" by Yelp, probably because it was negative and was the first one? Sad thing is people will always go to Ross.I already know I'm going to be guilty and return to this location. I enjoy going to Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, etc so a negative review won't really change anything because face it, we all love a good bargain and will overlook some stuff in exchange. Hopefully management will read this and the other reviews and realize they need to tighten up things to make the experience better. read more

The customer service is extremely poor, nobody wants to work here and everybody's ready to go home. I found the cutest little outfit but there was no price on it. So the associate begins to ask me questions as if I work with her and I'm not a customer. No, I don't know If there are more of the same item over there and I'm not going over there to look it's called customer service and I would appreciate if the associate would just go look and find the price. So, instead of helping me she looks up a tag and says it's going to be $11, mind you there is a tag from the retail price of $8. Why would I pay that much more? It actually seemed like a scam. So I asked her about the price and she says there's nothing she can do so I asked for a supervisor. Miraculously, when I asked for a supervisor she goes and finds another item and the item actually cost $6. So after trying to up charge me I let the manager know what happened and she says that's exactly what the associates are trying to do. I understand so Ross is overcharging customers because they don't feel like getting from behind the counter to provide customer service to a paying customer. I feel stupid for even spending $200 that day, but I won't return. Can you imagine all the times you took something to the register that didn't have a price tag and they found a price for you that you were OK with, but you didn't investigate further to ensure it was correct? I'm sure they've been ripping off people for years. My biggest issue was that the manager had no empathy for the way the associate was acting, she just challenged me instead of apologizing and being considerate of my feelings. It is what it is and I'm sure they all sleep well at night, but when Ross finally goes out of business I'll be the first one to celebrate. Right now we're going through so much in 2020 you have to value the customers that you have because so many huge companies are going out of business. Will Do In A Pinch I usually do not shop at Ross, however, when I do, I usually find great deals. This Ross Dress for Less location is cleaner and more open than other local Ross stores I have visited. Once you enter the store, you are greeted by store associates. Everything is well layed out, with department signs hanging from their respective ceiling spots. Ross has a variety of home accessories, from kitchen, bathroom to the bedroom, and these items can be purchased for quite a discount from other stores that sell the similar items. I have never purchased clothing from Ross. However, the clothing selection appears to be well stocked, and the shoe selection apoears plentiful as well. There is a jewelry department if you need some earings, watches or bracelets. Ross is a good place to get discounts if you don't mind spending sometime looking around. read more

My husband took his phone out to try on some shoes and then accidentally left the phone behind. After looking we went to security and they observed that a person still in the store took it. That person said no when approached and we got the police involved. He admitted to taking but said he no longer had it and gave no explanation. Asshole... We will see you in court, if you show. It looks nothing like the pictures. It's dirty inside. The bathrooms are always dirty. The employees are so rude. The dressing rooms smell like pee and poop. There always walking around with rallies. I enjoyed this Ross much bigger than the others, and so much selection. More registers, at first my concern was the wait though they have plenty of registers only had one cashier but in time 2 more showed up so the wait was not to bad. I think this was a great Ross and I will definitely come back. Also if you want to get through faster than in the line they do have a rack to put your hangers. Can always find some kind of deal here. Needed a couple of inexpensive pairs of jeans and was not disappointed. Also walked out with a pair of shorts and shoes. On Friday 6.19.19 I went to Ross looking for wall decor. I found 4 portraits that are identical, nothing different in them. When I got to the cash register I asked the cashier why was one item marked for less vs. the other 3. She said she didn't know why the price was different but that she would call the manager to see if she can honor the same price for all 4. When the manager "Veronica" arrived she didn't make things better, She didn't make eye contact with me, she didn't greeted me or ask how can she help me. She arrived, just heard what the issue was from the cashier looked at the portraits and said " the bar codes are different" that's why the prices are different. Not to mention, all 4 items are identical, and then she walked away. The lady has the worst customer service, never have I been treated this way. Veronica unfortunately lacks people's skills, doesn't seem to understand that she has a job because of us shoppers. I honestly think she should be demoted, she's not Manager material. I went to this Ross in mid-December which is the Christmas shopping time. I just went to look around but found some shoes I liked. Because of the time of year, there was a line wrapped around the store to get to the checkout, and people with carts full. There were also only 3 registers open, since one was dedicated to returns. People in the line were saying it was taking "hours" to get through, which I expected due to the season. In spite of this line, I got to the register and out the door in 20 minutes! Disaster. This place is a nightmare. It's relatively new and already doesn't look it. And, I had one of the worst checkout experiences of my life. I got in line and the line was long and getting longer. There were 2 cashiers one of them had a very large transaction so the front end supervisor hopped on. All of a sudden, one of the cashiers, who was dressed as Bon Qui Qui, stopped ringing and started processing her go-backs IN SLOW MOTION. She would periodically look up and notice the line getting progressively longer, but continued to move at the pace of molasses in winter. She has a promising future at the DMV. After nearly 10 minutes of this the front end supervisor told her that she wasn't supposed to start that until 2:45 (it was now 2:40 and she had been at this for 10 minutes) and that it shouldn't take her more than 5 minutes. Clearly she hasn't seen her in action. Or inaction. The girl acted like this was new information (I doubt it) and went ahead and started ringing. I swear there was steam coming off the entire line. It was totally ridiculous. I will absolutely never shop here again. read more

I need your help who ever recorded the incident last night 01/02/2016 I went to Ross in Avondale, AZ on 99th ave and McDowell. My 10 yr old son had a $50 gift card he had got for Christmas he went to purchase some shoes and socks his total came out to 55.96 the cashier told me he only had $29.05 on his card. I replied no there should be $50.00 I told her to cancel out the socks and shirt and only charge the card for the shoes and I would pay the remaining balance. The cashier tried but her cash register froze so she asked the sales associate next to her to help me, he then tried to give me the money and said I'll refund the money and then you pay for the shoes and remaining balance. The first cashier that originally helped me told him not to give me the money that it should be on my card so I called the card and said no its not on the card she went to get the manager Rudee who said that's not our problem when she was trying to explain what happened. I then replied excuse me how is it not your problem I either need a purchase or a refund. Rudee said you'll get your money on your card in 7-10 days I said why would I have to wait that long. I tried to explain I still wanted the shoes when he told me to Shut up that really upset me when I tried to explain again he then said I'm not helping you no more get the f*** out of my store and called security. Now I ended up calling the police who tried to speak to the manager as well Rudee would not talk to the officer and told her he told me I would get my refund in 3-5 days at this point I called him out on his bluff I said that's not what you said you told me 7-10 days. Anyways I want this to go viral please help share this. I was disrespected in front of my kids and without any reason at all. I want to find the kid who video recorded this. I called this store to ask for help with an item. The girl said ok, just one minute then got back on the phone and said, "We don't have any but we get a new truck in tomorrow." She never asked what item I was looking for so I then asked her if she knew what I was looking for, she then hung up. The employees at this store need more training to say the least. read more
