I made an appointment for my 13 year old daughter and I stated that when scheduling. I was never told that masks are required or that she would have to go into room without me. From the check in staff to the doctors, everyone is rude and acts like they don't want to be there. I had stopped going for a few years but thought I would give them a try again. I've been going to Rosin Eye Care for almost 45 years. I've seen them go from a small space to their current location. Dr. Sorrel Rosin cared for me years ago. I've been nothing but pleased with the level of professionalism and friendliness in this location from the late 70's until now. I now see Dr. Sury and I'm always pleased with her exams. I wouldn't place too much credibility on the negative comments posted. See for yourself. People don't continue with any establishment for 45 years unless they're happy. My husband also has been going for about 50 years and our daughter will start in the Downers Grove office soon. I'm sure they will be just as good as Berwyn. read more

My mom told me she called this place and was placed on hold. My mom is Spanish speaking and when she called, the man who picked up was so rude and told my mom to hold on 4x. Literally waiting for 20 minutes, I decided to call back with my phone and now it says the office is closed. Online it says it closes at 6PM. Trash service. I had visited the store initially for an eye exam/New glasses in FEBURARY, they ON PURPOSE long dated my eye exam into next MAY knowing full well, that my insurance would go from straight medicare into county care. WHICH THEY DO NOT ACCEPT. Come today, my day of exam, I am now not able to be seen without up front payment. They KNEW this would happen as they target you if you are poor or on state medical card. DO NOT PATRONIZE this awful excuse of a doctor. They DO NOT put their customers first, they put PROFITS first. The front desk is rude, and authoritarian, acting as if they have NO TIME to deal with you. I hope everyone in the Berwyn office burns in hell. If I could give them no stars I would. I scheduled 2 appointments 2 weeks prior. They couldn't schedule my husband and I at the same time so we schedule 2, one at 10:00 AM and 1PM. Received a call to confirmed my 1PM appointment. I show up and they tell me they "called to reschedule my appointment at 8:30AM". They were completely unprofessional. And said, "well if you want to wait if the 10 o'clock doesn't show up then they can take you." I WAS THE 10 o'clock! What is the point of scheduling an appointment if they're not following it??? Here's a business that seems incapable of showing remorse for its errors. I called to order contacts and specifically stated I only wanted as many boxes as my insurance would cover (1 box of daily disposables for each eye). The lady said she still needed my credit card number just in case there was any difference to be paid. That was fine by me, so I gave her the credit card number. However, shortly after hanging up the phone, I checked my bank account and noted I had been charged the full amount. No insurance was applied. I had to call 3 times in order to get this error corrected, and it still took several days for the credit to be applied. At no point was anyone apologetic. Instead I was treated more as if they were doing me a favor by correcting THEIR error. No customer wants to be asked for their birthday, phone number, etc more than once. No customer wants to have to call back after being told they would be called back right away by a manager (I waited over 3 hours). Even on the 3rd call, when I politely remarked that I hadn't yet received an apology (HINT HINT), I still didn't get one. I'm giving 2 stars, just because the doctor I saw at my last exam did seem to have some semblance of intelligence and pride in her occupation. All that having been said, I think I'll stick with buying contacts and glasses online... It's significantly more affordable anyway. There's not too many reasons to shop for eyewear in person these days: 1. you get to physically try on and 2. MAYBE you get friendly customer service. Considering the latter is pretty much lacking at this place (and the eyewear is far more pricey than what you can find online), the reasons for continuing my business here are far outweighed by the reasons not to do so. read more

Needed new glasses to pass drivers license test. After being turned down for an appointment at my usual provider (Walmart), I remembered going here many years ago. I was able to get an appointment within a week. service was top notch, price was reasonable, and COVID protection protocols were first rate. As a senior, I highly recommend them. read more

First they could not find my past patient history. Then they could not figure out how much my insurance would cover my glasses and kept giving me different prices as time went on during my visit. Nobody told me about blue light blockers. The person helping me pick out the glasses sanitized each one but then touched them and touched her computer which kind of defeated the purpose. They did not give me a timeline of when my glasses would be available and did not give me any information on the warranty or care. When I went back to try on my glasses, I was not allowed to take off my mask so it was an improper fit. The waiting area to try on the glasses has a gross table and chairs that was not wiped. When I got home I saw that my glasses were improperly fit. One arm was bent much more than the other and digging into my temples. I called twice to see if I needed an appointment for an adjustment. First I was on hold for 13 minutes hung up and called back I was on hold for 12 minutes and hung up. With at least five people in the office couldn't somebody pick up the phone or say were closed or say I'll be right back or please hold? I will not be returning read more

Ordered glasses over a month ago and was told I would be called when they arrived. It has now been awhile since I ordered them and they are still not in. Never received a phone call or anything explaining why they are taking so long. Truly testing my patience. read more

This was my first time here. My insurance rated this the best in my area so I booked an appointment. So glad I did!! I was a little late so they took me back almost immediately, super quick tests, dr took me in again, immediately. Dr. Graves is awesome! Jasmine is WONDERFUL!! She ordered my contacts, saved me a lot of money by price matching, she gave me samples sizes of solution and they had cases inside! Such clean, nice, big office. A waste of time! Literally! I had an appointment at 9:40am. Due to an insurance error, I waited about 20min to get it all figured out. After everything seemed to be ok, the lady at the front desk said that I would be next. 30min later another young lady takes me into a room to do the pre - screening tests and told me to have a seat. I waited an hour, so I went back to the front desk to remind her that I've been waiting. She assured me that I'd be next. After listening to the receptionist have personal conversations on the work phone and seeing 5 different people come and go, my frustration was at a high! I went back to the front desk to remind her that I have been waiting for 2 hrs! She tells me that since I missed my appointment I would have to come back at 3:45pm. What?! How is an insurance error my fault? And no, I didn't miss my appointment bc I'm here! I waited over 2 hrs, only for her to tell me this last minute! No even the common curtsy to tell me anything. 2 useless receptionist! I've been a customer since 2011, and I promise I will NEVER step foot in this mediocre place again!! read more

This review is for Homer Township Vision Center a new acquisition of Rosin Eyecare. Called today to get a new temple piece. Office hours are until 3, yet at 2pm, there was not a dr to get a signed Rx. Instead of being able to order a new temple piece, Katelyn stated I would have to order a new pair of glasses. She said -Sorry can't help since we were bought out, we don't have the same glasses line. She did not check to see if the glasses were in their line, just use the standard line of buy a new pair. She did state that they have a $149.99 glasses that the price includes lenses and progressive lenses. Of course that is a limited number of frames and not everyone's face shape fits those frames. Bottom line is that a signed rx should have been available and not being willing to order the temple piece just upped their money making ability and lost my business. read more

Came in never got greeted. The doctor was very nice but shesuggested getting a year of monthly contacts when i hardly wear them only on weekends. i spent money i didnt need to while the contacts just sit in my room collecting dust. not a lot of variety as frames either :( read more

Every time I go here I promise myself I will not come back. I don't know why I don't listen to myself. Pros: dr Anna is very nice and knowledgable. Also wide selection of frames and brands Cons: the staff really apparently isn't trained well. Literally every time I have gone I call ahead and have them check my insurance to make sure I am up to date and eligible at the time to get the services I am seeking. They always screw up. Last time I went in after calling to see if I was eligible to receive frames w my insurance. The girl told me yes after supposed looking at my file, I went in, paid for eye exam picked my glasses out and when I sat down to put the order in the girl goes "oh you're actually not eligible for new frames til next year." Staff has never once apologize for their screw up, except dr Anna who does on the staffs behalf. Overall pretty useless customer service and just a pain to deal with. Very disappointed with this Facility. Staff has no idea what they are doing. Everyone is every where and very unprofessional. About 3 weeks ago my 6-year-old son broke the frame on his glasses (Thankfully I got the warranty) made an order for the fame, paid upfront prior to completing the order and was told it would take 3-5 days. (okay, fine) I taped up his old set. Unfortunately, 2-3 days later the arm of the frame broke again and the glasses fell and the lens broke this time. I made an order and was told an optometrist was going to reach out to me to confirm order. I never received a call. Contacted the facility before they were going to close and was the reception was clueless on my order but were able to "make the order" and was told 3-5 days, I requested the glasses to be rushed and I would pay the fee needed to get them quickly (my son really needs the glasses to see). During the past 3 weeks I've been contacting the facility to see whats the update on my sons glasses and all I get is that someone will return my call because they "show as still in process" never receiving a call or voice message. Contacted the facility on Saturday (03/10) and was told the optometrist is off on the weekends but will reach out to the optometrist via email to contact me on Monday with an update. Monday arrives no call from anyone at that center. I contacted the Facility 1st thing in the morning on Tuesday (03/13, today) and was told they would call me back because they show "still in process" but received something in the mail and it might be my sons glasses. 20 mins later I receive a call (That's a miracle!) confirming they were his glasses (FINALLY!) and were ready for pick up today. On my way to the facility (20 mins later) I receive another call and they made a mistake. The glasses case came in, not the glasses (HOW THE FUCK IS THE CASE READY BEFORE THE GLASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). The glasses would still take an additional 2-3 days to be completed Advised them that I have a 6 year old with no glasses and not able to focus in school because he cant see the board. 3 weeks and still no glasses. You can tell they just don't care of a minor's need for his glasses. Very frustrated, very displeased, I'm no longer returning to Rosin Eye Care. read more

I would never return to eyecare place. They put me in porgressive glasses without asking any questions to what I use my glasses for. When I told them their glass isn't working, I was told they take the progressive lense off free of charge. I never wanted them so I'm out of money messing with this place. read more

First time patient at Rosin Eyecare in Berwyn and I got to say it was a great experience. The girls is the front were soo helpful and friendly. I came in to schedule an appointment for my kids and they were able to accommodate my family for the same day. "Talk about fast service" I also did not have any idea what vision insurance I had or even if I had any, the young girl at the front was so helpful and I felt she went above and beyond to figure it out for me. The doctor was nice and friendly as well. The only thing I would have to say is that their glasses selection is a little limited and pricy. Overall I had a good experience and I'm planning on bringing my family back next year (since I don't need glasses myself) read more

I have been going here since high school when they were on the other side of Cermak. Minus the 10 years I lived out of state. I like this place and not just because I am used to going there, I always get friendly service, from the people up front to the optomoligist. I've never had a problem here w/looking up my insurance, yes it takes a while, but just like any doctor, if your insurance has changed, you should know you need to come in early before your appointment, to do the paperwork. The only issue is I wish those booths where you wait were a bit cleaner and the tables a bit sturdier. read more

I just can't waste any more time going here. It is the closest eye Dr to me and I have went for years, but my wife and I have constant issues. The people who work the front desk are always polite, and my Drs. have been ok, but they change so much it is hard to ever know who you will get. And I get conflicting information between them, which is alarming at best. But, the rest of the workers are always rude, as if helping us is hindering them. I have had to go back 3 times since my last visit because they messed up my paperwork, and there have been zero apologies. I have been met with rude attitudes and a complete lack of respect for my time or me as a patient. And again, none of this is my fault, but they have made sure that I feel it is. I was pretty much called everything but a liar until they realized the paperwork mistake and corrected it, then just blamed others without a simple apology. I swore the last time we were treated this way there it was the last, but we gave them 1 more try. Shame on us. read more

I was excited to get some new glasses at a new eye doctor because I heard Rosin is old and good. I was majorly disappointed with the service at this location. When I got there, there was no one in the place yet I waited for like 20-30 mins to see 3 different people running tests on my eyes. the first girl had no idea what she was doing...she went to give me some test and starting asking me about pictures on the screen but she had them all mixed up. i was so confused and she didnt even apologize for not doing the right thing. then some other girl helped me pick out glasses. i had to get cheaper glasses because they are pricey in there and my insurance allowed me only so much. when i tried on a few pairs and kept asking the girl if they looked OK on me, she just kept saying "eh, they're ok" and was trying to get me to try on $300 glasses that i wouldn't buy. then i was asking her some questions about measuring my face to fit the glasses and she gave me an attitude and said "i already did, i've been doing this for a long time." the only nice person working there is dr. anna. needless to say, i had a bad experience and am not going back next year. read more

I first came to Rosin 3 years ago and wrote a post on how extremely happy I was with the service there. Well here I am 3 years later with complete disappointment, and in search of a new Doctor. The last time I was at Rosins Eyecare was January 2018. At that time I received my exam. While paying the bill I spoke to the young lady regarding the prices of contacts, and of a particular frame I liked. I told her I could find both on line (and showed her on my phone) for far less than they were there. She explained to me that if I was to buy the frames elsewhere there would be a 20.00 extra fee to make my glasses. I agreed. When it came to the prices of the contacts, there was too much of a discrepancy to match the price. I then purchased both on line. I dropped off the frames, and paid in full the price of the glasses including the 20.00 extra. When the glasses came back, I explained to the young lady that they were not right. She just kept repeating herself ( with attitude like I could not understand her) that I would have to adjust to them. Finally when I told her she either fixed them or gave me my money back she had another doctor look at my eyes. And at that time they realized my prescription was WRONG. They reordered the new glasses (the girl with the attitude was upset that they were doing that) and when they came back they were fine. Now comes the contacts. When I was dropping off the glasses the first time, I seen my doctor. I told him that the contacts just didn't seem right. Could my eyes be getting that bad that fast? He just shrugged his shoulders and said "could be". I left it at that. When I picked up my glasses and found that the prescription was wrong for those, I figured the prescription was probably wrong on the contacts too. I had to make an appointment to see my doctor for this. When I did, sure enough the prescription was WRONG. But I was told not to worry they would exchange the lenses I already purchased. I told him that I purchased them on line, and he assured me that would be no problem. HA HA HA no problem...... I received a phone call about a week later from a young lady who once again had a really bad attitude. I don't know if this was the same young lady that helped me with my glasses or not but believe me a really bad attitude. Telling me that she would not exchange my lenses because I did not purchase them there. I explained what the doctor said and she said she would ask him. Another week later, she calls again to tell me no she will not exchange them even though it was the doctors error. I told her I wanted to speak to the doctor about it, so a week later, the doctor called and told me the same thing. I think I got lucky, Lensking, will take the unopened boxes back for a full refund, but not the other 10 lenses I have since I opened the package. And even though it was there mistake, Rosin will not exchange the open packages. So if you do go here, make sure you pay the high prices for the glasses and the contacts and you should have no problem if THEY mess up. read more

*There's only one chance to make a good impression* My first and only experience in this place was awful and I will never return. I went to this place on Wednesday 3/27/13 initially to see if they would take any walk ins but found out they were booked. I figured since I'm already here I might as well make an appointment. So I wanted to make the appointment for the same week but of course the girl at the front desk said the were all booked. So she offered to make an appointment for me until Monday 3/4/13 at 7pm. It was not ideal for me but I went ahead and accepted her proposed time. So when I returned on Monday for my scheduled appointment there was a different girl at the desk and when I told her I had an appointment and gave her my name she did not seem to find it. Once I spelled it out for her and confirmed who I was she said "oh yeah I have you scheduled for Saturday 3/16/13. I was surprised and demanded for her to double check the system. She assured me that that was the date the appointment indicated. At that point I was pissed and asked her to talk to a doctor to see if they made an exception since it they obviously dropped the ball. She was reluctant to talk to a doctor but after I insisted she finally got out of her seat and walked over to talk to the doctor. she immediately came back and said the doctor would not be able to do it. This whole time the girl at the front desk did not seem empathetic at all so I can conclude from my experience that the service here is horrible. She really did not seem to care or want to help at all. She didn't even offer me a different date to accommodate me, all she said is "sorry there is nothing I can do". I worked in customer service for a good 6 years and I was trained on how to approach different people and show empathy in case of an issue arising, that alone shows the customer that the company cares about their business. Obviously the people here do not train their employees properly. As a conclusion, I will never ever return to this place again. Later that afternoon I went to a different place just down Cermak road and made an appointment and the service was a 180 degree change. Very nice front desk and great customer service. Moral of this story, THERE ARE CHOICES PEOPLE, AND THIS PLACE SHOULD NOT BE ONE OF YOURS!!! read more

Year two for my annual trip to Rosin. I was surprised and happy to see that the floor manager, Gina, remembered me. I was scheduled for the last appointment of the day so I assumed that I would have to wait to see the doctor. Personally, when it comes to my eyes, I would rather know that the doctor will stay with me to get it right than to worry about the next appointment. I like the relaxed atmosphere there. Everything went like clockwork, contacts and glasses. Within a week I had both. I sometimes can dwell on small details and I felt that Gina addressed my concerns. See you guys next year. read more

This place has terrible customer service. I had car problems on my way to my appointment and needed get a new battery. I called and told them I was running 15 minutes late past my 11am appointment, and they said that was fine. When I arrived (after running for 2 blocks because there was no parking), the receptionist said "it's 11:17". She asked if I could wait until 12 for an appointment, and I said that I could not due to my work schedule. After explaining my situation, she agreed that I could be seen. I waited and was assured that I was next. At 12, I asked when I would be seen. I was told there were 2 people in front of me and I had to wait 30-45 more minutes. If said that I could not wait for a 12pm appointment, why would she think that I could wait until 12:30-12:40?! At that point I had to leave without having my eyes checked. I understand that there are schedules to keep, but had she been straightforward from the beginning, I would not have wasted 45 minutes. read more

I was a Rosin's customer for several years and have found that the service depends greatly on the person who assists you. A recent experience turned me off completely and I am not going back. In early July 2013 I purchased a pair of new reading glasses, both frame and lenses. The weekend of August 17th, barely 6 weeks later, I picked up the glasses and had one piece in my hand. The frame had broken at the joint. I went back to Rosin's to have the frame fixed. The young man told me that it could not be fixed and that I needed a new frame. He also told me that since I had not purchased a warranty, I would have to pay for the new frame. Rosin's only guarantees frames for ONE MONTH. In other words, instead of contacting their supplier and demanding that the supplier replace shoddy merchandise, they expected me to pay. No way! Perhaps another employee would have stood behind their product. As it is, they lost a long term customer. read more
