Came to give it another try since I was craving a tamale the outcome was worse VERY DISORGANIZED Seems like the ladies get confused In customer orders they take 1 customer order and then the following customers order at same time and then forgets who took what order to what costumer , or takes another workers tamales set for a costumer . Plus taking phone orders or doing a big order caused confusion while having a guest in front . ALL Sweet tamales were COLD since IT left outside . When arriving to the register another lady charges and starts to yell at the other girls who got what order and how many Tamales are in the foil wrapped . The wait turns out too long due to the confusion and making customers wait in the side to make sure the orders are packaged correctly. I would expect this place to have one worker attending same customer until the ends to avoid confusion or 1/2 workers in the back bringing out the orders while the other stays Infront with guest PLUS it avoids the ladies bumping into each other / others way since they're on the plus size and spacing is minimal to move around I've worked in this food business before so I understand the hardship work. This place is amazing. I just picked up 3 dozen tamales on Christmas Eve. I called the day before to get some basic info and the lady who answered was very nice and helpful. She let me know to get there early because it's first come first serve basis and whenever they run out they are done. I think they open at 5 a.m. and I got there by 5:45. There was already a line out the door of about 15 people. It didn't take that long to get to the front and they still had plenty left. If I'm not mistaken it cost $30 a dozen. The pork tamale was loaded with richly seasoned meat filling relative to the little amount of masa. Given the tastiness of the pork tamale, I'd try the red or green chicken tamales next time. I'd skip the lightly spicy cheese tamale on future visits due to its weird stiff log of cheese and gummy masa. Overall, I approve of their "bigger is not better" philosophy to tamales. The champurrado didn't have any flavor. I paid $43 for 11 tamales and 2 champurrados. Day 1s know they were huge before now they are a 3rd of the size. Also, the place is small but cute. The workers seem uninterested. I had to wait for the lady to get off a phone call in order for her to acknowledge me. I usually eat 1 or 2 tamales since they are a good size HOWEVER today i got 6 tamales that were just a couple centimeters thicker than my thumb.
