The food was just like I remember it when I was a student at CSUN in the mid to late 80's. The menudo was on point and the fresh tortillas!!!!

Lenchita's is a stable of Pacoima, it has been around for over 45 years. Been coming here for a long time. Every time we come to food is always great and fresh with handmade tortillas that are absolutely delicious. Great food great service, gracais a todos de Lenchita's...

Food Flavor was like 6 out of 10, Service is taking too long, my coffee was cold, the female server was all disoriented and I saw people leaving the restaurant cause what they ordered to eat never arrived. I saw trash on the floor, tables were dirty. I don't recommend this place at All, Specially on the weekends. Make sure you bring your lunch while waiting here cause it's gonna be a while.

    Disgusting

Disgusting! I start eating, and discover this dirty dish! When the waitress came to give me the bill, I said I was upset about the dirty plate. She replied that it was just stains because the plate was old! Sorry, I will not recommend dirty plates.

    Sopes

The tortillas and beans were excellent. Sopes were good, but the asada was overcooked and hard. The salsas were terrible. The red one made my food taste worse so I stopped adding it. There was a less spicy one that was almost pure water. Cash only and be prepared to have random people coming in the restaurant to sell you random things. Today we had some people selling razor blades, fruit, fake flowers, and gelatin desserts. Be prepared to wait 15 min in line to pay your bill.

    Long line!
    Anna M.

The food is amazing and is service quickly and hot! The handmade tortillas are the best! It's kind of noisy and it can be a little unkempt but overall I would go again and again!

Soo goood! Called ahead for a pick up order…read more Ordered 5 asada tacos with cilantro onion and salsa on side Tacos come with cheese as well (nice surprise as it pulled everything together) I don't usually like cheese on my tacos but these had a great balance of flavor and were made with love! Guy who took my order was very very kind and hard working. I came during a rush, it's a small place with probably 10 tables total and it's a very casual setting in a plaza with a lot of different stores and supermarkets. The sign is pretty small so keep an eye out but I would 100% come here again. My to go container came with lemons also and they do not skimp out on anything! Portions are great for the price - 5 tacos for $15

PSA: THEY CLOSE AT 7:30 PM…read more Google and Yelp say this place closes at 8. We called to place a takeout order at 7:15pm and we're on our way already. The guy who was taking our order asked me what time we'd be there because they close at 7:30. I told him we would be there a few minutes after 7:30 and that if they were about to close it was fine, we could order somewhere else. The guy insisted and was very nice and let me place an order with them. I got a wet burrito de asada with green sauce and it was so good! Their green sauce was spicy and had a nice brightness to it. I would definitely order this again, especially with the amazing customer service. We also got a chicken burrito and I think they use the fajita chicken to make it so there were green bell peppers in it, which was interesting. I wouldn't get the chicken burrito again but the wet burrito was really good. If you want great service and tasty food, I'd recommend this place.

We showed up at 8:40ish am on a Sunday right when they opened, excited to finally try this place after hearing good things. Parking was easy since we were some of the first customers there, and only two other tables were occupied. We walked in and stood around for a bit with no one greeting us. After waiting, someone finally told us to just sit wherever we wanted. We picked a table in the middle of the restaurant with a view of the kitchen, thinking it would help us stay visible so we would not get overlooked. Our party was five people. We started with coffees and waters. Just a heads up, the water is bottled Kirkland water so you will be paying for it, no tap water option. The cafe de olla was okay, but one person in our group had coffee grounds at the bottom. Also, that is the only coffee option, so if you need something without sugar, there is not really an alternative. We ordered menudo and chilaquiles, but when someone finally came to take our order, we were told they had run out of eggs. This was surprising since they had just opened. Service was slow even though the restaurant was not busy. When food started coming out, only two of the three chilaquiles arrived. After we got our chilaquiles, the menudo took another 25 to 30 minutes, so you will not be eating at the same time as everyone in your party, and that was only after we asked about it. When it finally came, it did not include the usual sides like onion, cilantro, oregano, or chiles. After a long time we asked the waiters for some sides and napkins too (never had any to start off), but nothing came. I eventually went up toward the kitchen because I kept seeing our waitress off to the side on her phone, not using the tablets for orders, so it was clear she was not busy. We kept checking in about the third chilaquiles dish and tried to be patient and polite about it. Eventually everyone else finished eating and that last plate still had not come out, so our fifth person just ate leftovers. When we asked for the bill, that missing chilaquiles dish suddenly showed up, well after we were done eating. We asked to cancel it since we no longer wanted it, but were told they could not take it off because the kitchen had already made it. To pay, you have to go up to the front instead of getting a bill at the table, and they ask you what table you sat at and what you ordered, which felt a bit confusing. After explaining everything, they did remove the charge without much argument, which we appreciated. While we were there, we noticed other tables having similar issues. One group waited a long time just to get menus, another had menus but no one came to take their order, and they eventually left. Another table also had to speak up about delays, though the staff did apologize. The food itself was good, but not good enough to make up for the overall experience. I really wanted to love this place, but the service needs a lot of work to match the quality of the food.
