I went in for my usual order (gorditas) there were two women, one of the women who was amasando helped a customer, handled cash, and went back to her station without changing her black gloves, Twice! Same gloves with masa all over taking cash and handling food. This was one of my favorites since I was a child. Unfortunately ever since The original owner don Juanito this place has no care for the consumer's health. I asked for my money back after seeing that and brought to their attention the importance of hygiene. they tried to say only the "manager" would be able to do that who was conveniently not there. The food was nasty and really greasy,I ordered tacos de asada and a menudo they both were super greasy and one of the workers spilled the hot soup on my step brother and to top it off they had cockroaches on the chairs inside I do NOT! Recommend this place unless you want nasty food. read more

The best mesquite chicken ever. My husband and I were driving by and have seen it before and decided to stop by. Right away we were greeted by the Señora and she was super sweet and kind. We got the whole chicken meal that came with cut up chicken, tortillas which were handmade beans, rice, and salsa. Let me tell you the flavor was so amazing. Super juicy and super fresh chicken. Spotted this place on a bike ride this morning and thought I'd give it a try as I smelled the chicken on the grill as I passed. Got the Pollo a Carbon Burrito. It was good. Big, just like I like it and the chicken was quite tasty. I was happy. My gf, a vegetarian, was a little disappointed by the options. She got the Chile Verde Quesadillas which unexpectedly came with meat. Next time she'll be sure to request no meat or maybe have to try something else. Not sure if you can get it without the meat, looks like it's cooked with it. We also got some Nachos, no meat. I think they'd be better with meat so no comment on those yet. With this place, everything I've had is really good. Now, that out of the way, let's get to the excellent. Their carnitas is some of the best I've had. They do it proper. Juicy in the middle. And a bit crispy on the edges. Their chile verde is spicy! And delicious if you can handle the heat. (You've been warned) one of my favorites here. Their horchata is without a doubt my favorite in town. The quesadilla al comal is a handmade tortilla fried like a soft hard shell filled with whatever. Honorable mention to that.
