Someone recommended we try this place & it sucked! They don't say "hello/welcome". Service wasn't good. He threw me off when I asked him a question & he sarcastically answered it. No professionalism. My chilaquiles weren't good the rice is all mashed up. The sauce wasn't tasty, my eggs were over cooked ( which he didn't ask me how I wanted them done). I didn't finish my food, I tried to not because it was good but because I don't like leaving food on my plate. But wasn't good enough to take home as leftovers either. Menudo was mediocre at best I tried some & it wasn't good to me. He didn't have a menu & said you need to scan a QR code it doesn't show the pricing of the food. When I paid they didn't even give me a receipt, for two menudos, one chilaquiles, 3 drinks was close to $80? They can charge anyone whatever they want even maybe up-charge them. How can you trust a place like this? Definitely did not leave a tip because I won't be back.

Chilaquiles with steak and eggs. DELICIOUS!!!

I don't even want to leave this review bc I don't want this place to get too popular. Food is authentic, delicious and portions are big. It's one of my favorite spots in the valley. Cash only but they have an ATM inside Service is getting better Oh and you don't get a bill lol, don't stress about it just pay and be grateful for this unique spot

Menudo and Caldo de Rez. We got to go and ate at home. DELICIOUS.

Went on Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, looking for Menudo and Caldo de Rez. The place was full and lively. However, our food was to go. We are at home, and it was DELICIOUS. Both soups were full of flavor and ingredients. They included three types of salsas and each were different and levels of heat and smoke. Came with a whole lime, and one and a half whole RIPE avocados. Plus, delicious house made tortillas! Literally everything was excellent and we're so glad we decided to drive out to pick this up. Saw people eating chilaquilles with eggs and that looks delicious. I'll try when I come back.

Restaurante Maria was one of those places you pass by and do not really think much of it. But, this changed once my mother told me to check it out. I was blown away by the authenticity of their meals and ambiance. It takes a lot for my mom to like Mexican food because it is something we have every day in my home, but it is different here because you can tell this food is made with plenty of amor. The place itself has its own identity inside. It feels like home. People were laughing and enjoying themselves. The plates they use reminded me of the ones my late Aunts used to have. A lot of comfort food favorites at this place. Some of their foods brought me back memories of meals I had with my late Father. Yeah, like that. The price is reasonable, especially with the current financial climate. It is always busy, but the service is always excellent. I had the tremendous fortune of being there when live music was being played. It has everything. I highly recommend this hidden gem.

When I miss my moms caldo de res, I come here it's usually ready after 9 am (the caldo).I have been coming here for over ten years. It's very affordable you do need to pay in cash. I can feed one adult and two kids when I add two extra servings of rice when I order the caldo. They add several hand made tortillas, one entire avocado, lemon, and salsa on the side. It is the best caldo I have tried. My husband loves the burrito with no meat. We eat for less than $20. There is not a lot of parking so we order for pick up. The ladies are always pleasant. Can be crowded on the weekends.

Guy who took my order was very very kind and hard working. I came during a rush, it's a small place with probably 10 tables total and it's a very casual setting in a plaza with a lot of different stores and supermarkets. The sign is pretty small so keep an eye out but I would 100% come here again. My to go container came with lemons also and they do not skimp out on anything! Portions are great for the price - 5 tacos for $15

The guy who was taking our order asked me what time we'd be there because they close at 7:30. I told him we would be there a few minutes after 7:30 and that if they were about to close it was fine, we could order somewhere else. The guy insisted and was very nice and let me place an order with them. I got a wet burrito de asada with green sauce and it was so good! Their green sauce was spicy and had a nice brightness to it. I would definitely order this again, especially with the amazing customer service. We also got a chicken burrito and I think they use the fajita chicken to make it so there were green bell peppers in it, which was interesting. I wouldn't get the chicken burrito again but the wet burrito was really good. If you want great service and tasty food, I'd recommend this place.

Finally, my husband and I had a chance to dine in on Sunday. We got there around 10:30 am. The parking lot was packed but found parking on the side street. It is so nice to see all the hard working ladies in the kitchen, especially the ones making the tortillas, now that is a special gift to manually make them! We showed up at 8:40ish am on a Sunday right when they opened, excited to finally try this place after hearing good things. Parking was easy since we were some of the first customers there, and only two other tables were occupied. We walked in and stood around for a bit with no one greeting us. After waiting, someone finally told us to just sit wherever we wanted. We picked a table in the middle of the restaurant with a view of the kitchen, thinking it would help us stay visible so we would not get overlooked. Our party was five people. We started with coffees and waters. Just a heads up, the water is bottled Kirkland water so you will be paying for it, no tap water option. The cafe de olla was okay, but one person in our group had coffee grounds at the bottom. Also, that is the only coffee option, so if you need something without sugar, there is not really an alternative. We ordered menudo and chilaquiles, but when someone finally came to take our order, we were told they had run out of eggs. This was surprising since they had just opened. Service was slow even though the restaurant was not busy. When food started coming out, only two of the three chilaquiles arrived. After we got our chilaquiles, the menudo took another 25 to 30 minutes, so you will not be eating at the same time as everyone in your party, and that was only after we asked about it. When it finally came, it did not include the usual sides like onion, cilantro, oregano, or chiles. After a long time we asked the waiters for some sides and napkins too (never had any to start off), but nothing came. I eventually went up toward the kitchen because I kept seeing our waitress off to the side on her phone, not using the tablets for orders, so it was clear she was not busy. We kept checking in about the third chilaquiles dish and tried to be patient and polite about it. Eventually everyone else finished eating and that last plate still had not come out, so our fifth person just ate leftovers. When we asked for the bill, that missing chilaquiles dish suddenly showed up, well after we were done eating. We asked to cancel it since we no longer wanted it, but were told they could not take it off because the kitchen had already made it. To pay, you have to go up to the front instead of getting a bill at the table, and they ask you what table you sat at and what you ordered, which felt a bit confusing. After explaining everything, they did remove the charge without much argument, which we appreciated. While we were there, we noticed other tables having similar issues. One group waited a long time just to get menus, another had menus but no one came to take their order, and they eventually left. Another table also had to speak up about delays, though the staff did apologize. The food itself was good, but not good enough to make up for the overall experience. I really wanted to love this place, but the service needs a lot of work to match the quality of the food.
