Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. I was not impressed. I asked for a well done burger and half of my burger was pretty rare. Needless to say I only ate half of it. We generally come and sit at a table. Yesterday we came in and sat at the bar. We have recently relocated and travel a lot so have become big foodies and huge supporters of small, local businesses. We love the food. It's amazing. However the bar service, especially with may be 6 people was less than attentive and friendly. It's incredibly disappointing because this was one locally owned place that we liked going to in a town full of chain restaurants. read more

Great place to just sit and enjoy time with your friends

I was not really impressed. I felt like the waitress was not friendly and made a rude comment. The food was mediocre at best. Really did not meet my expectations so I won't return. read more

A nice neighborhood bar and grill. They have a great martini list. The Hawaiian Cosmo is delish. The beer list is pretty good as well. Food is surprisingly good. The salad was good, the steak and sides were good. Overall, another nice place downtown. Closed on Sunday and Monday. read more

Really great atmosphere and delicious food. Their pasta is particularly good. Good beer choices too. A little on the expensive side, but you definitely get what you pay for: decent portions of quality food. read more

Recently ate lunch at this quaint establishment. Later than usual, 1:30pm, so there wasn't another customer in the place. The side salad was nothing to write home about; spinach thrown on a plate with some extras..The chicken quesadilla was really good. I'd order it again, except I'm never going back. Our server turned out to be the owner. You'd think an owner would be cordial if not immpecable..such was not the case. I felt as though we were intruding on her magazine reading time. There was no greeting, absolultely no smile or other welcoming signs. Sad! This combined with the cloud of cigarette smoke we had to walk through to get inside made for a very bad impression. If there was a 0-star rating, I'd be using it! read more

Oh my goodness, The place is quite cozy. We sat in the front, right across from the bar. My co-workers and I had the esteemed opportunity visiting Rosie for a quick lunch. We were attending a meeting, drove in from Chicago that morning. Arrived at Rosie's at about 12:35 pm. The main lunch crowd was moving out quite swiftly. We were seated at about 12:45pm. Here's the problem, if you ask Molly to many questions about the menu...she gets angry. So here's a tip just order from the menu; don't ask Molly nothing. If she gets really angry...she want place your order with the cooks until...lets say 30 minutes later. Then when you ask her what's taking so long...it gets worse. Bottom line we then had to ask for take out, we received our food at 1:25 pm. The service sucked! it was terrible. We promise next time not to come for any meals. Molly...we got it! Thanks! read more

Nice and friendly service yummy food! Had an Asian rib dish last time that was over the top

Great local spot in Bloomington! Awesome food selection, solid drinks, and a friendly staff. Favorite downtown spot for food or drinks!

Rosie's has consistently great food and amazing servers. One of my favorite dishes is the cioppino pasta which is filled with amazing flavor, an abundance of fresh lobster, shrimp and scallops. Rosie's flatbreads, burgers, wings and cheese curds are consistently delicious making it one of my favorite dinning experiences in town. read more

One of our favorite places for Saturday lunch, also a great place for dinner. Delicious food & great atmosphere. Molly is the best, very friendly, professional and makes certain the pub is running smooth. Her staff is very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend. read more

I've eaten here several times in the last several years - midweek, weekend, all seasons. The popular bar in the front offers an inviting atmosphere with the usual drinks and gnosh. The restaurant in the back serves overpriced, dressed-up bar food. I've never had a truly good meal there. My experience tonight typically disappointed. I ordered the beef stroganoff for a little comfort food. The house garden salad was the only option for greens. The stroganoff turned out to be some indistinguishable brown gravy with noodles, and a crumbled, dried out hamburger that had been cooked hours before. The mushrooms were fresh and meaty portobellos, the only good thing about it. Our service was good. Bottom line: If you want a dependably good meal, try somewhere else; if you want bar food, stick to the bar in the front. read more

We were there today and seemed like a place we could totally nestle in to. We're from out of town and our son is on a college visit so we had the day to check out the scene. Loved the atmosphere and the food was outstanding. However, we were very surprised to find that the bartender/possibly owner was not the least bit friendly. In fact, we felt like we were bothering her. The other bartender wasn't much different. Neither one of them smiled and seemed like they had better things to do rather than making sure we were enjoying our experience. We'll come back because everything but the service was fantastic. read more

Best bar in town. Great environment with extraordinary staff that like to be there. And the Gouda Burger and Fetta Bruchetta are to die for. Eat there everyday if I could. Don't forget a glass of Serena wine!! read more

Rosie's never disappoints. My steak salad was not as good as usual but the price & atmosphere is so great and this is so unusual I'll give it a pass this time. We've never had a bad meal and the service is always great! read more

I have such mixed feelings about Rosie's. When I first went to Rosie's I loved everything about it. I had the asparagus and vodka sauce pasta dish and it was amazing! I loved the ambiance and decor, and how it was great food but still a bar. Then a few more times we came back, and our service just wasn't the same. We had a two top one night and received really rude service from the hostess. I just gave up on the service and go to Station 220 instead! read more

I unabashedly recommend Rosie's as having the best evening meals in Bloomington \ Normal. Though the menu choice is short, their food is great. And I'd rather choose for a small list of good food than a long list of mediocre food. I have also eaten there for lunch, which was okay, but I think nothing special. There are two halves, the bar tables, and the dining room. At night, in the dining room, my wife and I think there is no better place better to dine in Bloomington \ Normal. My wife and I recently ate at a themed based chain in Bloomington, and recently ate at Rosie's. Both meals cost about the same amount, but my wife and I thought the whole experience at Rosie's so much more enjoyable. And the wine is a good value too. read more

I ordered the shrimp greek. This salad is a dream. The flavors of the shrimp, artichoke, and feta cheese made my lunch a special note in our vacation. I wish I lived in this town. Great work Rosie's! Anthony is a great bartender. Very welcoming dude. read more

Fantastic food. Had bone in pork chop and pecan chicken. Divine!! Had to eat at the bar because we didn't have a reservation, but bartender was very knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks. Good background music too. Overall great atmosphere. Looking forward to my next trip here. read more

Nice place! Good service, good food, and it's nice that they don't attract the college crowd. Highly recommend!

I always look for locally owned restaurants. I chose Rosie's because of the rating. I ordered the Mushrooms as an appetizers, and the Pecan Chicken as an entree. The mushroom were great, and the Pecan Chicken was outstanding. While it took a little longer to receive my order, it has to be because they cook everything from scratch as you order it. Very nice job, I look forward to coming back every time I'm in town. read more

The homemade potato chips are amazing and the service is great. My medium black and vlue burger was just slightly over cooked hencenthe 4 star rating. I would also recommend the fried pickles!!! read more

Took friends to Rosie's on a Saturday night for dinner. Have many issues with this place. First, it was extremely hot in the dining room area. Not conducive to a pleasant evening. It was only 78 degrees outside so no excuse. Then when our waitress came to take our order she asked, "What do you want." No, may I take your order. What will you be having this evening. Then we ordered appetizers and she returned shortly and said would we mind if they served them during the entree. We said yes we would mind and to delay the meal and serve them before the entree. She said she would check with the chef. Then we had to ask for bread. Then she was intent on taking out bread plates off the table. My order was lobster stuffed ravioli. The sauce was "floury" the filling for the ravioli was pureed, no lobster chunks. My friend ordered the duck salad. Some of the duck pieces were tough, other were OK. I know this is a pet peeve of mine but once again at the end of the dinner, the waitress remove a plate while others were still eating. When will restaurants realize the proper etiquette is to wait until all diners are finished before removing the plates. I would go for a causal lunch but not a business lunch and never would go back for dinner. If you have to eat there, order a burger or pizza, just remember to ask for the Cesar Salad not to be placed on top of the pizza. Who does that!!! read more
