I was very pleasantly surprised this place. I had eaten dinner with the fam before meeting up with friends for drinks here so didn't get to experience too much, but I was very happy with the things I did get. The spring milk punch was SO GOOD. Like, way too drinkable. I usually like to try multiple drinks on a menu, but I just kept ordering this one. For a snack, I decided to get the crudite platter even though when I asked the server, she said it would just be lettuce, radishes, and something else... it turned out to be so much more! Endive, super sweet purple snap peas (which I've never seen before??? and now want to grow in my garden because they were like the best peas I've had in a while!!!), radishes, and some carrots. I'm still thinking about those snap peas haha.

Overall SUCH A CUTE PLACE. It is quite small but it def gets packed. The service was okay but to be fair it was busy, with that in mind, I'd probably give this place another chance. My friend was visiting and we wanted to get some drinks and dinner to catch up. We started off with fries and got a few of the cocktails each. It was quite watered down but even the flavor itself was subpar. My pasta sauce was also watery which was underwhelming. I was excited for the burrata on top but there was barely any and I think any type of cheese would have thickened the sauce a bit more but it was kind of bland. It was difficult to flag down a server (but still giving grace on how busy it was). It seems that a lot of people like it given the foot traffic and I am open to going again and trying the other dishes.

I am literally obsessed. From the decor, cozy furniture, immaculate service I received, to the decadent and creative food and drinks I tasted, this is a must try. The tuna tartar was my favorite. It was balanced, fish was tender, sauce was flavorful yet not overpowering, and it had grapes in it! The bread and butter came highly recommended from our server and I completely understand why! My cocktail- the money- was literally my favorite cocktail I've had all year. The cocoa nib infused tequila, with passion fruit, Thai chili and a chocolate chili rim.... Like licking the glass delicious. I will be dreaming of this experience... forever!

We had a lovely meal here but truly the stand out aspect of the experience were the delicious cocktails! As vegetarians, we did find the menu maybe a little bit limiting. The patatas bravas and the vodka sauce pasta were delicious and fresh! The host was very friendly and attentive and she made sure to check in on us often! We were there on a Monday night but the restaurant was still buzzing! Definitely a good sign :)

We split the chicken sandwich and burger and both were delicious. Atmosphere was great and the waitress was exceptionally friendly and engaging. We ordered drinks from the bar and they didn't appear to have much alcohol so our waitress brought some shots at no charge. We would definitely go back.

Yes. Yes. Yes. I've been wanting to try Roses on Adeline for quite some time now. A 'Rose' by marriage, I've had so many friends send me recs for this spot in Berkeley, and finally was able to try with a group of friends. Roses is the type of place and space that is everything I dream of when I think of the perfect spot to enjoy and imbibe ~ the ambiance is vibrant, open, and lively, exuding an elevated atmosphere that you can't wait to enjoy. The staff is incredibly fun and helpful, you can tell they all have a good thing going. And the food and drinks...double yum. Drink-wise I did the Adeline Spritz ~ deliciously crisp. They have a wide selection of amazing cocktails, and wine/beer/NA options/chilled shots, and more. Food-wise we ordered a bunch of items to share including: Heirloom Tomatoes & Corn salad, Double Smashburger, Fried Chicken Sandwich (katsu-chicken style), and the Rigatoni alla Vodka with Burrata. Chef's kiss all around. The salad was light and incredibly fresh, loved the touch of burrata in the pasta making it extra creamy and comforting, and the Smashburger...I can't wait to be back again for this alone. The bun has toasted black sesames, and the sandwich comes with shredduce, American cheese, caramelized onions, and their own special sauce. A must-try ~ I had my own half because it was so perfect. Looks like there is a HH from 4-6p on food and drinks, and one of the best parts I haven't mentioned yet..this spot stays open a tad bit later than the norm: weekdays until 10p except for Thursdays at 11p, and Friday/Saturday until midnight. I would check the hours ahead of time, and also leave time to find street parking (it's a busy area) or grab a ride share so you can indulge a bit. All in all, so refreshing to have a place like this in the East Bay that checks all the boxes for me and a night out with the girlies. Can't wait to come back and try more from the cocktail menu and grab a dessert too.

This has become our favorite place for happy hour! Being in the bay has a ton of things that makes it the best place to live, but it is also extremely expensive. Things like a snack and a drink can quickly cost $40. Finding this bar has reunited our love with going out and socializing in public, instead of having to do it at home to avoid $20 drinks. The happy hour here is our favorite. We've tried the vegetable crudités, the sweet potato fries, and a bunch of their drinks. I appreciate that they have multiple options for vegetarians- it can be hard to even find snacks these days out. Our favorite drink by far is the Pimm's cup. When we first visited we tried a bunch of drinks between us all. After our second visit, I now strictly get Pimm's cups. They are delicious. The bar itself is a cozy and social setting. The stained glass window behind the bar is absolutely gorgeous. The waiters are always kind and nice. We will continue to make the drive just to hang out and have a good time here. Thank you for crafting such a beautiful and accessible gathering spot

This is what we need in our neighborhood ! This place felt so welcoming and people seemed to piling in. Glad we made reservations on a Saturday night. Service was wonderful because everyone participated, meaning the host, the server, the bartender, all came to our table and were very attentive but not overly so. I had the Dashe Zin ($13/glass) and my wife had a cocktail ($16) followed up with Rigatoni in Vodka sauce ($22) for me and Crispy Tofu Tacos ($19) for Andrea. Reasonably priced for our area, just happy there is something with quality and vibe in South Berkeley. Great job !

My friend and I went here for dinner. They close at 12 so we caught the tail end of the night. She had the chicken sandwich and I had the smash cheeseburger. We have our sandwich and we swapped so I got a taste of both and I must say the Smashburger was fire. It had sesame seeds on top. It was bomb. My friend had a drink. The drink was pretty. We really liked the bartender and the server. They were very friendly and entertaining. It was cute in there. I recommend this place.

Went here for a girls night out recently. We love places where it's doesn't feel rushed to put in your orders and they are getting ready to close. So we loved that. The food and drinks were very good! We got the charcuterie board, the steak which is really good, the friend chicken sandwich and the some bread/butter. All of them were good! Same with the drinks, we had wine and cocktails. The hostess was great!

They closed for a time, and now seem to be thriving again! Heading to the Greek for a weekend show, we wanted to pop in somewhere close-by. We cozied up to bar seating, and enjoy a couple of martinis featuring local gin and vodka, and ordered some food to share: the Original Tikka Masala Flatbread (we had to finally try it!), and the Sev Puri Chaat (first time trying this ever!). Service was amazing, and if I could write this review purely on the originality and creativity of the menus, I would (see pics!) The menus were CD cases (remember those, ha) with a fun take on 'Spice Girls', titled 'East Bay Spice Company'. For Spice Girls fans, you will recognize what album this was derived from. Each page of the cd book was a different part of the menu, including drinks, happy hour (from 2-6pm), and food. So fun, and unlike anything I've ever seen before. The food was so fresh and delicious. Loved the pomegranate seeds and lightness from the Sev Puri Chaat, bite size garbanzo bean/potato goodness! And standing O for that flatbread..pro-tip: get a side of the Tikka Masala sauce to pour on top. Absolutely amazing. I'm a huge fan of Tikka Masala, and having that sauce be a base for a pizza...come on!! We did chicken as the protein. Overall, so happy to return and have East Bay Spice back apart of the Berkeley rotation again. Small, dimly-lit, cool digs. The presentation was impeccable, and the sauce was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The chicken seemed like a leaner cut, possibly breast, but it was still tender and not overcooked. I thoroughly enjoyed this plate and would 100% come back to order it again. My husband ordered the flatbread, though I can't remember the exact name, and it was surprisingly delicious as well. It tasted almost like a pizza version of the chicken tikka masala, making it a great shareable option if you're looking to snack, chat, and enjoy cocktails. Speaking of cocktails, the bartenders seemed very knowledgeable and helped me choose a drink based on my preferred spirit and cocktail style. I ended up with the Skeleton Key, which was strong, but still paired well with the meal. I'd happily come back to try more cocktails and, of course, order that chicken tikka masala again.

I'm vegetarian so was so excited to try the dogs - which are vegan. And I may be biased but you cannot tell that you're missing out on anything with all the flavor packed combos. The bun was fluffy and soft and you have multiple fun themed options to choose from. My partner and I ended up getting the deli dog and truffle meltdown. Deli was perfect - classic mix of spice and crunch with the spicy brown mustard and giardiniera peppers.
